How much money do you need to start a business. How much money do you need to open your own business: practical recommendations for beginner businessmen

How much does it cost to open a cafe: the dynamics of the development of catering establishments + tips for creating the concept of an establishment + a business plan for opening a cafe + calculation of costs and payback.

A cafe is a place that is customary to visit during dates, friendly meetings and family outings.

Many go to a cafe, but only a few think about it, not as a cozy place to spend the evening, but as a job.

In this article, we will take a detailed look at how much money do you need to open a cafe considering its features.

First steps to open a cafe

First, think carefully about your idea of opening a cafe. What will be its concept, style, and what will be the main focus.

Visitors come to such establishments not only for the food, but also for the special atmosphere.

The share of cafes and bars in the Russian public catering market is about 98 billion rubles and takes an honorable third place.

The first place in terms of profitability among catering establishments is fast food with a market share of 410 billion rubles.

In second place are food courts and self-service establishments, which make up a category worth 130 billion rubles. Less popular among the population are traditional restaurants and canteens.

Consider what your cafe will be like before you open it. Will it be an Italian pizzeria, a coffee shop or a Japanese cafe serving sushi, daifuku and mochi?

Perhaps the most common type of cafe among those listed is coffeeshops. These are establishments that serve hot and cold soft drinks with all kinds of additives, pastries and chocolate products.

The service "coffee to go" is convenient for those who do not have time to sit in a cafe, but want to buy a drink.

Choose a room with a convenient location, taking into account the style and specifics of your establishment.

When choosing a place to, consider its features. Is it convenient to get to it, are there local attractions nearby, schools, offices, whose employees will come to you.

If the cafe is located in the courtyard of the house, you need to put up signs and advertising stands so that visitors can easily find you.

If there is fierce competition in the location where you are going to open a business, make your cafe special, one that will be different from everyone else.

In this case, all means are good. Hang a bright and enticing sign, put up stylish furniture, lower the price a little or enter "happy hours" - this is a certain period of time every day when a certain discount applies to the assortment.

For example, from 14:00 to 16:00 there is a 25% discount on desserts or when buying one latte, the second one is a gift, and so on.

The cafe should not only have delicious cuisine and quality service, but also a certain charm. Do not forget about such benefits of civilization as the presence of Wi-Fi. Almost 50% of Russians surveyed aged 18 to 54 complain about the lack of free internet in cafes and restaurants.

Since people often come to cafes to work on a laptop, the availability of free wireless internet will help attract visitors.

For clarity, here are some specific numbers. About 70% of cafes and bars in Moscow have free wifi. In St. Petersburg, this figure is slightly lower and amounts to 64.8%. Next in the rating are Lipetsk, Kemerovo, Ufa, Chelyabinsk and Kaliningrad.

Menu planning as the most important step in opening a cafe

The main focus when opening any cafe is focused on the menu.

If you are planning to open a cafe, you should pay attention to the following when compiling the menu:

  • Cafe concept.
  • Cuisine preferred by people in your area.
  • Optimal value for potential buyers.

According to a social survey, 48% of people in Russia would like to increase the variety of dishes in cafes and restaurants. But a large menu, although it seems tempting to customers, will actually bring a lot of problems.

The main disadvantage of extensive menus is that customers will spend significantly more time studying the range and prices. If, after opening the menu, it is difficult for visitors to choose dishes, they will consult with the waiters, which will negatively affect the speed of table service in the cafe.

The most optimal option– medium length menu with photos. Of course, its publication will require additional resources, but this format optimizes the quality of service. In addition, customers before ordering dishes will have an idea about their appearance, composition and serving.

Let's go back to the survey data: 24.5% of respondents would like to choose dishes to order through automated programs on the tablet. Great idea, but unfortunately more suitable for fast food chains or expensive restaurants.

After all, in order to open a cafe with a database of electronic orders, you need to equip each table with a tablet with a special software. As practice shows, such a service experience is not beneficial for small cafes and bars.

Among other wishes of visitors: the availability of food delivery to home or office, as well as high quality maintenance service. Almost 37% of respondents would like to see in a cafe, and 32% of visitors would like to receive larger portions.

Consider these features when you are planning to open your own cafe.

According to statistics, most Russians eat outside the home at lunchtime. Exactly on lunch break 35% of daily visits fall. In second place is an afternoon snack from 14:00 to 16:00. At this time, the share of daily visitors is 21%.

The third place is taken by evening (18% of visitors) and morning time (17% of visitors).

Take these data into account when developing a menu even at the stage of opening an institution. Compose your morning breakfast meals, business lunches, and hearty yet economical lunch options.

How to write a business plan to open a cafe without a headache?

A well-thought-out business plan will help you prioritize the development of a cafe, manage your budget correctly, make a list of advantages over competitive establishments, determine your potential audience for your customers, and outline a step-by-step action plan for opening and the amount of money that will be spent at the start.

Perhaps, drawing up a correct and competent plan is one of the most important points that you need to complete in order to open a cafe.

Do not save time and money, find an experienced and qualified assistant who will help you outline the main points of the cafe business plan.
At the same time, you can avoid a number of mistakes that beginner entrepreneurs make in advance.

The amount of money to open a cafe depends on your capabilities. If your budget is limited, you need to find an affordable concept and style that will fit the size of your wallet.

Everything ingenious is simple. Now furniture and decor elements made from improvised means are very popular. For example, using your imagination, a few pallets and soft pillows, you can make tables and comfortable sofas that will undoubtedly please your visitors.

1) The choice of premises for opening a cafe + repair work.

As a rule, entrepreneurs are looking for a room or building for rent. Wealthier businessmen can afford to buy it.

The rented premises can eventually be moved to another building. An added bonus is that if your cafe isn't popular with residents, you can move to more vibrant areas without losing a lot of money.

Rental prices vary greatly depending on the proximity to the center, the condition of the premises, historical value, parking, people flow, even on the floor.

In Moscow, you need to pay the amount for renting a room from 1000 rubles per square meter. To rent a modern premise with a renovation near the parking lot, you will need more money, here prices start from 4 - 5 thousand rubles.

The main criterion for choosing a rental location is the presence of a flow of people. You need to take a few days of free time to spend it where you plan to open a cafe.

Please note that the lease agreement should be signed only after consultation with a qualified lawyer. This will protect you from "pitfalls" in the text of the contract.

2) Legal registration of the cafe.

To open your own cafe, you need to register as an entrepreneur.

You will be able to register as an LLC (limited liability company) or SPD (entrepreneurial entity). Registration in the face of SPD will be faster.

Additionally, you will need a license to sell alcohol or tobacco products in a cafe.

After registering with the tax office, you need to report the opening of your cafe to Rospotrebnadzor and the fire inspectorate. First scheduled inspection fire safety will be held before the opening of the institution, the second - in 3 years.

3) Development of a menu for an institution.

To get a lot of money from the functioning of the cafe, it is not enough just to print the menu. It needs to be made well sold, so that a person, having opened it, is imbued with the atmosphere of the institution and is ready to spend a lot of money.

The creation of an effective list of dishes back in the 80s of the last century was outlined by scientists from the University of Michigan. Donald Smith, along with Michael Casanava, brought ideas about menu engineering to life.

In order to evaluate which dishes will bring in more money, you need to divide them into 2 categories: the most popular among customers and those that have the highest margin.

You get 4 groups:

  • "Most Popular Dishes"- high markup and high sales.

    Namely, they bring the most money to your cafe.

  • "Work Meals"- high sales, but low markup.

    Such dishes should be left on the menu, but their cost should be raised a little.

  • "Puzzles" High markup but low sales.

    Such positions need to stimulate the interest of customers.

  • "Superfluous"- poor margin and low popularity among visitors.

    Such positions should be removed from the list of dishes, as they do not bring money to the cafe.

How much money does it take to create a menu when opening a cafe?

The design will cost at least $50. The cost directly depends on the complexity of the task, the style of design, the availability of photographs or graphic illustrations.

The price for printing a finished menu depends on its size, number of copies, type of paper and cover. The cover can be made of laminated paper, thick cardboard, plastic or leather.

4) Cooperation with food suppliers is an important step in opening a cafe.

The secret of a profitable catering establishment lies primarily in fresh, high quality products.

Saving money by ordering low-quality products from uncertified sellers can turn out to be bad luck for you. Cases of poisoning or feeling unwell after your meals will certainly not add money and popularity to you.

And a damaged reputation is difficult to return, especially to such an institution that has only recently opened.

Try looking for suppliers among local farmers. It takes a little more money to buy products from them, but using local products will increase your popularity with customers, just mention it on the menu.

Instead of branded alcohol, look for craft breweries or wineries near the cafe you are considering opening.

Don't stop with one supplier. To do this, indicate in the contract that you are not obligated to order goods from only one seller.

Review several offers before choosing a product supplier. 'Cause in a hurry you might miss more profitable terms collaborations that will bring more money to your cafe.

5) Recruitment of staff when opening a cafe.

Another no less important point in order to open your cafe or bar.

Decide who you are looking for: high-quality middle-aged professionals or young student waiters. Post ads on social media and job search sites.

You need to think in advance about the questions that you will ask candidates during the interview. Calculate how much money you can offer them as wages.

Discuss knowledge with candidates foreign languages and famous cuisines, as well as the length of the trial period.

For better working capacity of employees, they need to be encouraged with a convenient work schedule, additional days off and cash bonuses.

Do not forget about the need to install cameras in the cafe hall and in the kitchen for the safety of visitors and staff.

The “main” employees of the cafe are the kitchen workers and the administrator. How much money is needed to pay their salaries?

Average cafe chef salary starts from 20,000 rubles.

To hire administrator need more money - at least 35,000 rubles.

6) Purchase of equipment and furniture needed for the opening.

When choosing the design of your cafe, be guided by the kitchen. For example, a coffee shop predisposes to the loft style, a pizzeria to Italian sophistication, a pastry shop to French charm.

Look for ideas for decorating the hall on the Internet and do not be afraid to experiment.

The amount of money it takes to open a coffee shop depends a lot on the style you choose and the size of the dining room.

Place on the official website of the cafe a selection of dishes served in your establishment, messages about promotional offers, a detailed route to the cafe and opening hours.

The design of the site should be approached no less responsibly than the interior design of the cafe. After all, the first impression of you can both interest customers and scare them away.

8) Advertising options.

Order and hang a bright banner at the entrance to the cafe to attract the attention of passers-by.

Enter the system of club discounts and coupons for your regular visitors.

You are in the section: Entrepreneur's Handbook

On this account, there are the most different opinions, but over time, the rates in Russia are constantly rising.

We're only talking about small businesses. Materials about small enterprises began to appear in magazines, from which it follows that even $100,000 seems to be no longer money. In any case, for Moscow. As for small towns, about $50,000 is circulating in them as the minimum figure.

Without any doubt, different types activities require different investments. Even $100,000 may not be enough to open a small restaurant, and even 100,000 rubles may be enough for a service company.

Quite recently, I helped create two small businesses, in which the founders did not invest a single ruble at all, but they are gradually and successfully developing.

So it is impossible to answer this question unambiguously, and much in it depends not so much on the type of activity, but on the entrepreneur himself.

The data for the US show that about 75% of the investments in new ventures were less than $50,000, nearly 50% of the time less than $20,000, and 20% of the time less than $5,000. It's in the richest country in the world.

So all the complaints about the fact that it was only at the beginning of perestroika that it was possible to organize a business with minimal investment is nothing more than a thoughtful shaking of the air. In the richest country in the world, they never knew what perestroika was,
and the amount of investment in new enterprises turns out to be much less than they are called in Moscow.

We don't have statistics on this yet, but there is no doubt that the real figures for investment in small businesses are lower than what is rumored or suggested by seasoned entrepreneurs.

Opportunities to create a new enterprise with minimal investment are available in many cases, and it is certainly possible to create a new enterprise with a minimum of personal funds. If only the entrepreneur is willing to invest his personal time in it.

How is the required investment usually determined? Very simple. If a business plan is not created, then on the fingers or, at best, on a piece of paper. Or based on a typical business plan. In both cases, the amount of investment is overestimated. When there is an investor or lender, it is often believed that the more money you get, the better.

The scheme of calculations, if they are carried out, is also very simple. Estimated cost of equipment needed inventory, renting an office, furniture, various equipment and everything else that is needed according to a business plan.

Then the purchases of equipment, goods, furniture and the rest begin at the prices included in the calculation. Money, however, is usually not enough.

Meanwhile, equipment can be leased and paid for from future income, goods can be delivered with a deferred payment, an office can generally be obtained temporarily free of charge or at the expense of services that suit the lessor.

The ability to raise capital is a very important quality of an entrepreneur. However, entrepreneurial thinking is also a kind of capital, thanks to which an entrepreneur can significantly reduce the size of the required investment. And you need to do this, because, and this is not only my opinion, too much money is worse than too little.

The amount of capital invested, although cited by entrepreneurs as one of the reasons why small businesses fail, is by no means a guarantee of success. In my practice, only one enterprise was created with a solid amount of investment. However, it began to really develop powerfully only after almost all of the invested capital was spent ineptly and the enterprise was on the verge of death.

A great help in minimizing investment can be provided by experienced Mentors and Consultants, which we will talk about in part 3.

Where to get the money to invest in a new enterprise, if they are still needed, is not an idle question. We don't know where the money comes from in Russia to invest in small businesses. Very little time has passed since the beginning of the reforms, stability in the economy has just appeared, there are no statistics on this yet.

It is known that in the United States, funds for the creation of an enterprise in 75% of cases are taken from personal savings, in 40% of cases banks are involved, in 25% - relatives and friends, and only in 8% of cases - investors.

Each source has its own advantages and disadvantages. Under good business plan Finding money isn't that hard. There are always people who have money, but they do not know how to profitably attach them.

The situation is worse if the business plan is not enthusiastic. Here everyone gets out as best he can.

It is not uncommon for an entrepreneur to fall into a certain vicious circle. Under the mattress of personal savings, Russians have quite a lot, but they are in no hurry to invest them in small businesses. Probably because they were often deceived anyway. If an entrepreneur does not want to lose friends and quarrel with relatives, then it is better not to resort to this source of funding. Getting a bank loan for a novice entrepreneur, and even at a favorable interest rate for him, is not at all easy.

My experience shows that there is a way out of this situation in many cases. I don't mean the extraordinary people who borrow $500 and create billions of dollars. I mean small business entrepreneurs.

To break this vicious circle can be one who:

  • has very serious intentions regarding his business, i.e. wants to create a long-term prosperous business;
  • ready to invest his personal time in his own preparation before starting a business and
  • ready to invest his personal time in future business before its opening.

Time is a more important investment resource than money.

There are many more ways to reduce the size of the required investments than those mentioned above. There are also many ways to attract "foreign" money. In the end, everyone has some kind of property, on the security of which you can get a loan. By the way, the willingness to use your property as collateral is also evidence of the seriousness of the entrepreneur's intentions.

Unless, of course, the entrepreneur is guided by common sense, and not recklessness.

And yet, I believe that it is more correct to create a small business with minimal investment. This is the advantage of a small business and this shows the entrepreneurial qualities of the founder.

Hello! Today we will talk about how to open a store. We will consider the opening of any store, and not a specific example by the type of products sold.

Open your own store- one of the most frequent options from which novice businessmen choose. The store can bring a stable income, practically does not require intervention in work, time and effort. However, many are scared off by ignorance of how exactly you can open your own store, how much it will cost and when it will pay off. We tried to answer these and many other questions in this article.

What documents are needed to open a store

Let's figure out together how to open your store from scratch. The procedure for preparing for the opening of a store begins with registration as an individual entrepreneur or a limited liability company. Each of the options has its own advantages, but most often, beginners prefer the sole proprietorship, as in this case there will be fewer reporting problems, as well as lower taxes. And the sanctions for individual entrepreneurs are much lower than for LLCs.
Unfortunately, such benefits and simplifications turn into the fact that the entrepreneur is responsible for all obligations with his own property, and the founder of an LLC risks only a share in the total mass of the authorized capital. Among other advantages is great anonymity, because not everyone knows who is the founder of the LLC. You should also pay attention to the fact that when working with alcohol, registration as an individual entrepreneur is not suitable.

You should make a choice in advance, since it depends on the legal status which package of documents you need to collect.

LLC registration

To register an LLC, you will need to collect the following papers:

  • in 2 copies;
  • for the sole founder - a decision to establish an LLC, for co-founders - an agreement and minutes of the meeting;
  • photocopies of the passport of the director and founders;
  • a document confirming the payment of a state duty in the amount of 4,000 rubles (you will need to open a temporary account);
  • if necessary - .

If none of the founders of the LLC is the owner of the premises according to legal address then a letter of guarantee is required.

On average, the registration process takes about 5 days and as a result, the entrepreneur will receive the following documents:

  • charter with a mark of registration;
  • registration certificate;
  • certificate of assignment of TIN and registration with the Federal Tax Service;

IP registration

To register an individual entrepreneur, you will need a shorter list of papers:

  • receipt of payment of state duty;
  • signed and certified by a notary;
  • a photocopy of the passport;
  • photocopy of TIN certificate;
  • if necessary - an application for the transition to the simplified tax system.

An important point: those who deal with the entire process on their own do not need notarization of the signature on the application, which will save on the services of lawyers.

The registration period is also 5 days, upon completion, the entrepreneur will receive an extract from the USRIP and a certificate of state registration as an IP. All documents with USRIP and USRLE information for registration of LLC and IP are sent to off-budget funds everyday. The same information is sent to the statistical authorities.

A notice of the completion of registration and a letter from Rosstat can be received either in person at the institution or by mail.

Rospotrebnadzor

Thanks to latest changes in legislation, novice entrepreneurs are no longer required to submit a huge pile of paperwork to various authorities. Instead, it will only be enough to notify one specific authority to open a store.

For individual entrepreneurs and LLCs that open trade according to OKVED 52.1, 52.21-52.24, 52.27, 52.33 and 52.62, this body is Rospotrebnadzor. The same applies to those who plan to wholesale deliveries products or non-food consumer goods.

Notice must be submitted in the form specified in the relevant Rules. You can deliver it either in person, or by mail, or in in electronic format, certified electronic signature. In the latter case, the public services portal is used. Upon completion of the process, you can open the store for the first customers.

Which store is profitable to open

Almost all outlets are in demand among buyers. However, some of them bring more income than others, and the initial investment pays off faster. Next, we will look at various ideas for opening a store, estimate how much money you need to open your store. It is also worth understanding which store is profitable to open in a crisis.

Flower shop

Opening a flower shop is always profitable, but you need to choose the right place and delve into flower business so as not to incur losses due to damage to the goods. Flowers need to be able to sell!

Shop products

A reliable and popular option, especially attractive to newcomers to the business. The demand for products will never fall, which guarantees a constant income in the case of a successful location of the outlet. However, it requires special equipment, including rather expensive refrigerators. The volume of required investments will be about 600 thousand rubles, and the payback period will be about a year.

Household goods

Such products are also consistently in demand. To open a store, you will need certificates for varnishes, paints, etc. It is most profitable to open household goods stores in small towns and villages. The payback period is 1-1.5 years.

Children's store: toys, clothes, shoes

This product will always be in demand, because no one will save on clothes and shoes for children.

Also, many parents are simply unable to refuse their child when he asks for a new toy. The environment in such a store should be appropriate - the shelves are somewhat lower so that children can reach all the goods, and the interior is best decorated in bright rainbow colors.

Furniture store

In times of crisis, it is worth paying attention primarily to more affordable solutions, and not to luxury furniture. It is also worth paying attention to domestic manufacturers. In terms of quality, their products are not inferior to numerous foreign competitors, but at the same time they are much more affordable.

Hardware store

People are always building - in a crisis and outside it. A variety of building and finishing materials are in stable demand. The profitability of the business, according to experts, is about 20%.

Auto parts store

Ask any car owner and he will tell you that there are always not enough spare parts in stores and you have to wait a long time for them by ordering delivery from another city or country. Auto parts stores will always be relevant. The main thing in this direction is to find your niche.

If you live in the provinces, consider which store to open in small town. All of the above options are definitely fine. You can also consider, for example, opening a pet store, a car accessories store, a fabric store, etc.

The choice of commercial equipment for the store

No real store can do without the appropriate equipment. The choice of specific models should be made based on the assortment of the outlet. Particular attention should be paid to refrigeration equipment - it is it that takes up the most space, and prices can cause a serious blow to the budget.

The choice of showcases is made on the basis of turnover and assortment. For example, for refrigerated display cases, you should choose models with a deep narrow layout, and temperature regime for them must be observed within the range from -6 to 0 degrees Celsius for fish and meat and from 0 to +8 degrees for cheese, sausages and confectionery.

After refrigeration equipment, it is worth moving on to choosing racks, which will become the main element for displaying goods. Today on sale you can find models with sections from 600 to 1250 mm long. The price varies depending on the length. For bakery products showcases are additionally equipped with wooden baskets, and sections of confectionery products are supplemented with restraints that do not allow goods to crumble.

When choosing commercial equipment, special attention should be paid to the following points: stability, functionality. Quality, durability and design. Before purchasing a specific model, you should pay attention to analogues, compare their parameters, and only then stop your choice on a specific option.

Choosing a location for opening a store

A significant role in the question of how to open your store is played by a competent choice of premises for it. Available whole line requirements and aspects that should be taken into account when choosing.

  1. Product type. Separate types goods require that they be sold in certain places. For example, a grocery store or simple household items should not be placed in large shopping malls- Preference should be given to more accessible premises. An excellent option would be a building on a busy street in a residential area.
  2. Accessibility and visibility. Remember: even the biggest traffic does not guarantee a large number of visitors and buyers. Place outlet should be in such a way that there are as many target buyers as possible on the street. You also need to take into account the location of the sign - it should be visible to everyone passing by. Remember: what best store visible, the less advertising it requires. It is very important that there are enough parking spaces nearby. Experts believe that the best option would be 5-8 places for every 100 square meters of retail space.
  3. Competitors. The presence of neighboring firms can play both a positive and a negative role. Here it is important to take into account their clientele: a hypermarket and an expensive boutique will not bring new clients to each other, and a beauty salon may well contribute to the growth of the client base.
  4. Price. One of the most important factors. It is worth noting that here we are talking not only about the cost of rent. Any room requires periodic repairs from the owner. In addition, marketing costs should be included in this amount when the store is located far from the main flow of visitors. Do not forget about monthly payments: utilities and others. V individual cases additional redevelopment may be required, which entails considerable costs.
  5. Personal preferences. If you yourself plan to work in your own store, when choosing a room, it will be useful to take into account your own preferences - the distance from the house and the like.

It is very important not to rush when choosing a room for a store. Try to research the area in advance, look at potential customers and competitors. In some cases, you should not be afraid to postpone the opening date for this, because the wrong choice will result in a whole lot of problems.

Choosing a vendor for a store

As the seller fights for each client, so the suppliers fight for their customers. At its core, a supplier is the same store, but a wholesaler. The supplier should be chosen very carefully. Particular attention should be paid to the following criteria:

  • Reliability. Of course, reliability is the most important criterion. It includes how obligatory the supplier is regarding the execution of the order, how honest he is during the calculations, how timely he delivers.
  • Price. It is perfectly logical that everyone wants to buy a product as cheaply as possible. Under equal conditions, preference should be given to the supplier with the lowest prices.
  • Range. It is also a very important criterion - the wider the product line will be exhibited, the more interest it will be able to attract.
  • Brand recognition. Everyone knows that trading is inextricably linked with psychology. To quickly gain a reputation, you should work with the most famous and popular brands. In addition, there are much fewer problems with working with them - it is much easier to return or replace goods under warranty.
  • Additional nuances. Among the important little things should include discounts, bonuses, deferred payments, the issuance of goods for sale and other similar ones. They will allow you to get additional profit, so you should definitely not neglect them.

Don't limit yourself to working with just one supplier. The best option is to purchase from 2-3 wholesalers at once. That way, if there is a problem with one, the others can close the gap.

It is also necessary to take into account such a nuance as logistics. To do this, you should find out in advance how the delivery network is built, which transport companies operate in the city of the supplier and your own. The best option will be delivered by rail.

Finally, communication with suppliers is most often conducted through Email. It is enough to select the positions of interest, and the supplier will issue an invoice in response to this. Chosen after payment transport company will deliver the goods.

Recruitment for the store

Each employer, when looking for employees, can go two ways. He can try to find high-class professionals who will immediately show the highest result, or he can hire promising talented people who have yet to learn the art of trading. As always, there are pros and cons in both cases.

In the first case, the employer will face the problem of a lack of such specialists. In addition, they will also require appropriate wages which not everyone can afford. Yes, and each such employee, by experience, also has a number of peculiar attitudes, so first you need to rebuild them to new conditions. Among the advantages, it should be noted that it will be possible to save on training, and employees will be able to work on the day they are hired.

Talented beginners will become clay in the hands of a master. With proper guidance, they can become top-class professionals, but there is a chance to get only problems instead. But the salary of such an employee may be lower. At a minimum, at the stage of gaining experience, training and internships. Such people can be raised in a team as successful and dedicated employees who are fully consistent with the specifics of the work.

Unfortunately, talent is not always revealed, and loyalty to the company may not come. The training of a new employee is invariably associated with costs, including attendance at courses and trainings. And just the assortment of goods will need to be learned - to find out its features, advantages and disadvantages. When hiring a talented newcomer to work, one should pay attention not only and not so much to his presentation and communication skills, but also to quick wits, because in a short time he will need to remember a lot of characteristics of various goods.

The result is the following picture: highly skilled professionals are the preferred option if you can afford them. Otherwise, you will have to make do with promising newcomers.

Who is in charge of recruiting? All more or less large companies this role is assigned to the personnel department. The search for new specialists is most often carried out in the following ways:

  • Relatives and acquaintances. As practice shows, this is a common option, but often one of the worst. No matter how close an acquaintance is, this does not mean that he will be a good employee and seller. Unlike people from the street, it is more difficult to objectively evaluate the skills of a relative. Very often we subconsciously smooth out obvious shortcomings and biasedly encourage our relatives.
  • Posting ads in the store and on the street. One of the least expensive, but at the same time effective ways, which is attractive. Those who apply for an ad found in trading floor, you can immediately send to the personnel department, which will save a lot of time. Unfortunately, this turns out to be too much traffic - the manager's office is very close, so just curious people can enter it, hoping for luck.
  • Advertisements in print media and the Internet. There are two main paths here. You can explore an existing offer or submit your own ad. In the first case, you will have to spend a lot of time and effort to study applicants and consider their candidacies. As a result, even searching for one employee can take several days. Your own ad has a number of advantages - if you compose it correctly, then unsuitable candidates can be weeded out immediately. Those interested do not have to call - they themselves will come to your personnel department.
  • Working with recruitment agencies. The main advantage of this option is the shifting of all work on the study of resumes, searches and interviews to a third party. As a result, only those people who fully match the specified profile will be sent to your company. The disadvantages of the approach are obvious: the work of a recruitment agency requires its own payment, sometimes very rather big. And despite all the precautions, the acquisition of a "pig in a poke" is quite possible. You can avoid risks if the contract with a recruitment agency mentions the payment of a fee only upon enrolling an employee in the state at the end of the probationary period.
  • Talent hunting or Headhunting. This method of personnel search is one of the most relevant developments. It consists in poaching highly qualified specialists from other companies. The main advantage of this approach is the ability to observe employees in action, assess their skills and abilities. The main disadvantage is the high costs, because you will need to make a fairly profitable offer that he cannot refuse. And once a lured employee can always be lured again: one should hardly expect any unconditional devotion from such a person.

The methods mentioned above are equally suitable for finding experienced professionals and promising newcomers. The only exception is headhunting. Experts recommend when looking for a professional to contact recruitment agency, as the chance of finding a truly experienced employee increases many times over. Beginners can also be searched for by other, less expensive means. Experts believe that the team that will combine experienced specialists and young beginners will be optimal. This will make the store more efficient and lower wage costs.

Finally, when hiring, you should not focus your attention only on a diploma and a resume. It is also worth paying attention to the charm of the applicant and his appearance. Remember that sellers will become the face of your company and this face should be beautiful and cheerful.

Store business plan - tasks and goals

An important point in the question of how to open your own store is the preparation of a business plan. Despite the opinion of some entrepreneurs, it is simply impossible to do without compiling it.

The preparation of a business plan should satisfy the following objectives:

  • He must help potential investor understand whether it is worth investing in the project.
  • The information in it should be decisive for the bank if a loan is required.
  • The plan becomes the source of all information about the project. This information will be useful not only to the founders, but also to outside observers.

Accordingly, the business plan should solve the following tasks:

  • Definition of the circle of persons, responsible for the implementation of the plan.
  • Identification of target markets, determination of the position of the store in the market.
  • Setting short- and long-term goals, forming tactics for achieving them and development strategies.
  • The product of an estimate of profitability and possible costs.

It is important to remember that a well-written business plan becomes the key to the prosperity of the store. In no case should you ignore this point, since a business plan is necessary not only for large companies, but even for the most modest shops.

Choosing the form of taxation

The issue of choosing the form of taxation plays an important role when opening a store. It is on this that not only the tax burden depends, but also the volume of penalties for various misconduct. It should be said right away that there is no universal answer here, everything is strictly individual. However, there is an algorithm that will help you make a choice:

  1. Prepare general characteristics companies: where the store will be located, whether there will be customers legal entities, what is the value of the assets and the planned annual revenue.
  2. Make an analysis of all forms of taxation and choose common taxes for all.
  3. Choose your preferred option.

The choice of the form of taxation should be made based on your net profit and not on the amount of the tax burden. In some cases, it makes sense to choose a system with large taxes, which will save money in the future or achieve a specific goal - occupying a certain market segment or the like.

General system of taxation or OSNO

Applicable to sole proprietorships and LLCs. It is the default option - if there were no statements about the transition to another form, then the OSNO is used. The requirements include bookkeeping, keeping a book of expenses and income.

OSNO taxes for LLC:

  • The main tax is corporate income tax in the amount of 20% of profits.
  • VAT value added tax – 0, 10 or 18%.
  • Corporate property tax of up to 2.2%.
  • Insurance premiums for employees - 34%.

Taxes OSNO for IP%

  • Income tax personal income tax in the amount of 13% of income.
  • VAT - 0, 10 or 18%.
  • Insurance premiums.

The main disadvantage of OSNO is the complexity of the calculations - only experienced accountants can cope with them.

Simplified system of taxation of the simplified tax system

LLCs under the simplified tax system do not pay property taxes, income taxes and VAT. An individual entrepreneur is exempt from VAT, personal income tax and property used in activities. USN is not available to everyone.

USN requirements for LLC:

  • Less than 100 employees.
  • Income less than 60 million rubles a year.
  • Lack of representative offices and branches.
  • Income for the last 9 months is less than 45 million rubles.

There are no restrictions for IP.

USN tax rates: 15% for taxes on income minus expenses and 6% on income. The latter option is preferable for stores with low costs. Most often, entrepreneurs choose the first option with a simplified tax system of 15%. However, this option should not be considered the best - before making a choice, it is better to analyze both options.

Single tax on imputed income or UTII

It is a single tax on imputed income, that is, a fixed tax on a specific type of activity. This tax does not depend on income, it is paid even in the absence of it. Payment is made every quarter.

Conditions for the transition to UTII:

  • Suitable activity.
  • Less than 100 employees.
  • Must be permitted in the area where the activity is carried out.
  • For an LLC, the share of a third-party organization should be no more than 25%.

The transition to UTII is not possible for individual entrepreneurs on a patent basis, and for those who pay agricultural tax.

Patent system or PSN

Currently, there are 47 types of activities that fall under the patent system of taxation. You can find them in article 346.43 of the tax code. The rate for individual entrepreneurs is 6% of the possible annual income. For the transition, the company must have no more than 15 employees, and the annual income must not exceed 60 million rubles. The term of a patent is from one month to one year.

The main advantage of PSN is the lack of reporting, the need for a cash register and a fixed amount of tax. This option is optimal for entrepreneurs whose activities are seasonal and of little use for stores.

How much does it cost to open a store

Many are wondering how much it will cost to open own store? Which store to open minimum investment? It is simply impossible to answer this question at least somewhat unambiguously, there are too many factors in use. What exactly are you planning to sell? In which city will the store be opened, and in which area? Because of this diversity, prices vary in a very, very wide range. Most often, you can say something definite already at the stage of business planning, and then a new, even more interesting question arises: where to find start-up capital to open a shop?

Experienced entrepreneurs start looking for funds after registering a business. In this case, on hand is detailed business plan, where you can see the entire project with an indication of the amount for its implementation. It is possible that required amount could be found much in advance and now there are no problems with the issue of payment.

Otherwise, you can refer to the following sources:

  • Investors. After you have ready business plan, you can try to find an investor for the project. Unfortunately, this path is one of the most difficult - not everyone will be ready to invest their own funds in your business.
  • Banks. A bank loan is also a common method of solving a problem. However, you should not think of it as a panacea - it often falls on the shoulders of a novice entrepreneur like a yoke, significantly slowing down business development.
  • Friends and relatives. You can always try to involve friends or relatives in the cause. Moreover, we are talking here not only and not so much about a loan, but about a full partnership. After you develop, it will be possible to simply redeem the share.

Attracting the first customers

After opening the store, the question arises of attracting the first buyers. Currently, marketers have managed to come up with many recipes for success, but the simplest and yet most effective are:

  • Distribution of leaflets. The main thing here is a bright attractive design that would make a person not only take the leaflet, but also become interested in its content. It should also contain important information regarding the goods you offer, as well as the address, contact numbers, etc. You can distribute leaflets not only on the streets, but also scatter them in mailboxes and put them on tables in supermarkets.
  • Posting ads. The method is as simple as it is effective, but not without drawbacks. Not many people look at notice boards (unless they are at public transport stops). In addition, this method can spoil the reputation in the future - "advertising on poles" is perceived negatively by many.
  • Display advertising. Perhaps the most optimal method to date. You can place an ad in newspapers, on television, but, first of all, you should advertise on the World Wide Web. The latter option is especially good because it will not require so many investments, and the audience coverage will be simply huge. In addition, you can choose literally any convenient format for your advertising.
  • Recommend to friends. You can tell about your product to acquaintances, friends, relatives, relatives of friends, etc. This option will be the most in a simple way advertise your product without spending any money at all. At the same time, it is also distinguished by its efficiency, because we all trust our own environment much more than even the most beautiful flyers. Do not discount the effect of "word of mouth". Even experts admit that it is one of the most effective advertising methods.

Finally, it is worth giving a few tips that may be useful to aspiring entrepreneurs who are thinking about how to open their own store.

Rather than developing their own brand entirely, entrepreneurs prefer to franchise. This phenomenon is called franchising and is special kind relationship between entities, in which the franchisor transfers the rights to conduct business, without limiting either the basic principles or the business model of the franchisee.

Such an approach has its pros and cons.

Advantages:

  1. Saving money;
  2. Product certification;
  3. Ready ground for business (no need to develop a strategy, concept, etc.);
  4. More acceptable credit terms;
  5. Decreased advertising costs (the brand will no longer have to be promoted);
  6. Centralized marketing strategy;
  7. Support from the copyright holder in terms of procurement, supply, design and staff training.

Flaws:

  1. Difficult conditions for both parties due to shortcomings legislative framework RF.
  2. The contract is concluded for a period of 5 years. Termination is subject to penalties.
  3. Costs in the form of monthly royalties.
  4. Constant control by the brand owner and some restrictions.
  5. Franchising does not eliminate the need to go through numerous bureaucratic procedures, including the registration of an LLC or individual entrepreneur.

Franchises of many stores can be found in ours.

Where to start your business

A person who decides to start his own business evokes ambivalent feelings: someone considers him desperate and insane, while someone admires his courage and determination.

There are a lot of sources in which you can get information on starting your own business (take, for example, our site How to make money.ru), you just need to use them correctly in order to get the maximum practical benefit.

Let's take a closer look at the steps that need to be taken to become a successful entrepreneur.

Step 1. Developing a business idea

Any business begins with the fact that someone had an idea to do it. The main thing - . Entrepreneurs with experience say that in order to formulate an idea, they write 10 options that appeared in their heads on a regular piece of paper. Then they describe the advantages and disadvantages of each option.

But you can just go to the section and find an idea for yourself.

Step 2. Selecting a market segment

Choosing the right niche in the market is very important for a budding entrepreneur. In the initial stages of business development, you should not choose services or products that are not widely known. But you need to prepare for a big competition. Therefore, a thorough analysis of the market will not interfere in order to choose your place in it.

Step 3. Business plan

The presence of a carefully thought out and formulated one allows you to evaluate your capabilities, as well as analyze what can be obtained in the near future and what is in the long term.

The main points of the business plan

  • Description of the main activity;
  • Planned result;
  • Probability of losing money;
  • Economic analysis;
  • Stages of business development;
  • The time allotted for each stage;
  • Calculation of one-time and periodic costs;
  • Planned end result (what is planned to be done when the result is achieved).

Step 4. Business registration

When a decision on activity is made, a business plan is drawn up, you need to go through the procedure or (limited liability companies). a slightly more time-consuming process than opening an IP.

The package of required documents includes:

  • The original or photocopy of the passport in good quality;
  • Original or photocopy of TIN;
  • Document on registration with the tax authority;
  • Choice Statement.

You can go through the procedure in person or contact specialists who deal with similar issues.

Also, to conduct activities, you may need.

IP is the most famous this moment a form of entrepreneurial activity. This is mainly due to the ease of registration, which is available to any citizen.

Opening an individual entrepreneur has its advantages and disadvantages, this is normal and is present in any business.

Positive aspects of opening an IP:

  • Simple registration procedure;
  • All activity is under the control of the entrepreneur, he decides when to stop it;
  • It is not necessary to involve an accountant to keep records;
  • All profits are the property of the entrepreneur, he has the right to dispose of it as he wishes. The main thing is to pay taxes on time.

IP Disadvantages:

  • In the event of debts arising from obligations, the entrepreneur is liable with all his property. This must be remembered at the stage of organizing a business. If you plan to develop your business in the trading area, in case of default on credit obligations, compulsory forms of debt repayment may be applied;
  • Regular inspections by regulatory authorities ( tax office etc.);
  • Lack of profit (it is impossible to predict whether the activity will bring good profit);
  • The duty of the entrepreneur is regular contributions to the Pension Fund;
  • A sole trader cannot sell a business;
  • Biased attitude towards the form itself: many businessmen refuse to cooperate with individual entrepreneurs simply because they consider this form of activity to be frivolous. It is clear that this is a delusion, but it has a place to be;
  • Often there are situations when individual entrepreneurs are not allowed to participate in the tender;
  • carried out in accordance with the rules applicable to.

  • If you open a retail outlet, you need equipment for trade (refrigeration, scales, etc.);
  • If planned own production, need a whole line of equipment;
  • If the business is conducted on the Internet, everything is easier. But when you need a warehouse to store goods.

Step 6. Advertising and business promotion issues

These issues require serious attention and investment. Attracting as many customers as possible is the main task of any business. To expand the client base, you need competent advertising.

An online business also requires website development and optimization to keep the business going.

Promotion plays a big role. In order for a client to tell his surroundings about you, he must be pleasantly surprised, give him more than he expected to receive. For example, a discount on a product or service, a small gift.

It was mentioned above state support for start-up entrepreneurs. Further on how to get it and how to use it correctly.

Governmental support

In our country, there are several types of state support for entrepreneurship. Namely:

  • Allocation of subsidies;
  • Holding exhibitions and fairs;
  • Free consultation on various issues;
  • Assistance in renting a site or premises for the enterprise.

Let's briefly describe each option.

Allocation of subsidies- the most relevant type of state aid. Two types of subsidies are issued: those who have just planned to start their own business, and those who want to modernize production, develop an existing business at a new level.

In the first case, you have to prove that your business will bring tangible benefits to the region, that all risks have been calculated. In the second case, already established entrepreneurs receive reimbursement of part of the expenses incurred (for paying loans, leasing payments, etc.).

In any case, not only the prospects of the chosen direction are taken into account, but also the priority for the entire region. Priority are: Agriculture, medicine, education, new technologies, cultural sphere.

Assistance in renting a plot or premises for an enterprise is not free, but it is more profitable financially than renting from private individuals. Discounts are available to help you save money.

Holding exhibitions and fairs- providing free retail space budding entrepreneurs. Allows you to reduce advertising costs, exchange experiences, establish business contacts.

Free consultations– assistance in solving specific issues that every novice entrepreneur will face sooner or later. You can ask questions to lawyers, economists, specialists in labor and employment.

Note to the entrepreneur: The state provides support on the terms strict accountability for every amount spent.

How to become a successful entrepreneur

It is unlikely that anyone will accurately answer this question. They become successful businessmen by putting in a lot of effort, working almost around the clock, earning invaluable experience and knowledge. Everyone goes their own way to success.

Everyone makes mistakes, but they are part of the journey. The main thing is to work on preventing them constantly.

Typical mistakes of novice entrepreneurs

  • Starting a business just because you think your idea is brilliant. Your idea should be appreciated potential buyers and clients, not yourself;
  • Starting a business without market analysis. Why it is needed has already been considered earlier;
  • Start without knowledge in the planned area of business. A good example: to open a workshop for the production of parts for machine tools, without knowing anything about the machines;
  • Expect millions in earnings in the first months after opening (business requires patience and time);
  • Do everything yourself: it is simply unrealistic to cope with all the tasks alone. If you plan to be in business for a long time, you will have to hire employees. Good employees are not a big expense, but an investment!
  • Starting a business without a clear business plan. To put it mildly, the idea is bad. You yourself will not have a complete picture of your activities and what goals you set;
  • Wrong prioritization. The top priority is customers. They will be, the whole process will be adjusted;
  • Lack of desire to learn and improve. Learn constantly, learn new things, broaden your horizons;
  • There is no general interest in the area in which it is planned to conduct business. To put it simply: don't open a hockey school if you don't like hockey;
  • Healthy perseverance is missing. Many companies have collapsed only because management refused to deal with the flood of problems.

Business is a struggle, often with yourself and your shortcomings.
