Bill of Lading The main document in the organization of cargo transportation by sea, as well as for multimodal transportation In fact, it is a receipt of the captain on the acceptance of the cargo for carriage. the cargo is issued. The bill of lading is a document of title Issued by the agent of the shipping company 65

TIR Carnet Used for the carriage of goods by road (for international transport). Simplifies the procedure for crossing state borders 69

Forwarder's cargo Receipt (FCR) Issued by the freight forwarder to the consignor and evidence of acceptance of the cargo for transportation by the freight forwarder 70

Prospects In Trans. In the container, we plan to use the Bill of Lading as a single transport document in the future. It will replace (but not cancel) all documents that are "tied" to a particular multimodal transportation and will be a single document issued by Trans. Container to your customers. 71

Prospects for the development of ITC o A new end-to-end model of interaction of all participants is needed instead of autonomous, local processes. o It is required to formulate uniform “rules of the game” and fix them for 5-7 years. This applies to the technical and technological conditions of work, tariffs, areas of material responsibility of the parties, the procedure for compensation for losses. o In particular, it is necessary: § introduction of the CIM-SMGS consignment note for shipments from China § formation of stable tariffs at the ITC for a period of 5-7 years § introduction of preliminary electronic declaration systems at all railway border crossings § separation of the carriage component in tariffs 72

The cargo was detained, a criminal case was opened - smuggling. There was a threat of the seizure of the cargo. The rights of the cargo owner were successfully defended in court. But as a result, the client returned to the old scheme of work for road transport. For the development of tailored services, a unified interpretation of the rules and regulations is also necessary 73

As with any other business, the organization of freight should begin with registration with the appropriate government authorities.

A legal business is legal because, according to one of the TV advertisements, it is easier to sleep with it.

When organizing this, it is important to develop a work strategy..

How to start a container shipping business

Development of a cargo transportation strategy:

At this stage, issues such as the area of cargo transportation, i.e. what kind of goods are going to be transported - there is a wide range of them or they will choose any specialized niches, with which clients they will work - organizations or the population, or with all.

It should be noted that large transport companies try to cover as wide a clientele as possible, but for a small, just starting company, it is still better to limit itself to a small area.

In the future, it is necessary to expand the coverage of the territory to which the goods will be transported (here it will be necessary to transport by containers) - this will significantly reduce the costs and expenses of the work.

Client base of customers carrying goods

It depends on the solution of all these issues what the emphasis will be on when creating client proposals, i.e. by what methods and proposals you will invite clients and create a client base.

The client's offer includes such elements as prices for services, additional services.

When creating such an offer, it is important to emphasize the features of your particular enterprise, what makes it different, of course, in better side, from competitors.

The next step will be to find clients. To do this, you can contact the already existing dispatch services, which are available in all major cities.

They will be happy to provide you with information on orders, naturally for payment from your side.

If your capabilities - a large fleet of vehicles and the availability of additional funds - allow, then you can create your own dispatch service.

Cargo transportation contracts

Trust in the company is based on both the quality of transportation services and preparatory work.

Among the latter, an important one is the drafting of a competent contract.

If the client is sure that his cargo is under legal protection, then his trust in the company will turn into new orders for her.

In addition, this procedure will protect the company itself from various misunderstandings and troubles that occur in any business.

Work with personnel is an important link in the development of the company

Services are a fairly specific type of business.

Since services are almost always associated with the communication of your employees with clients, the correct selection of personnel plays an important role in its development.

When starting a business, you can do loading and unloading operations yourself.

When hiring workers, you should think about their salaries. With large stable orders, staff can be paid constant.

If there are few orders, which is typical for starting a business, you can agree on one-time payments for each order.

How to advertise trucking

In addition to contacting dispatch services, you should also think about your own advertising, since many clients apply precisely for it.

Here you can limit yourself to just posting ads and submitting ads to the local media. But you should also use progressive technologies.

The Internet allows you to advertise, often absolutely free of charge, on local thematic forums and social networks.

The creation of your own website is also important for the development of the company today. Other possibilities should not be neglected.

In the first place in increasing the company's recognition and its popularity among clients are the clients themselves.

"Word of mouth" to this day is the most effective and low-cost way to increase the profitability of an enterprise.

Satisfied clients will not only come to you with repeated orders, but will also recommend you to their acquaintances, neighbors and friends, thereby expanding the circle of your potential clients without your participation.

Pavel Matveev from TNK-BP built from scratch in Moscow in four years largest network warehouses for individual storage with a leased area of about 24 thousand sq. m

Together with other participants Russian market self-storage (individual storage) Matveyev intends to teach Russians to store things not on the balcony or in the garage, but in special warehouses located within walking distance from home. The first warehouses for individual storage appeared in the United States in the 1960s. Currently, their total area in the States exceeds 200 million square meters. m, the market volume is estimated at $ 23 billion. In Europe, this service is less widespread and the most developed in Denmark, the Netherlands and the UK, and the total volume of the EU market is estimated at € 3 billion. In Russia, the first self-storage - Key Space - was opened in 2008 year by immigrants from UFG, but existed for no more than a year: the tenant terminated the lease, and the business ceased to exist.

A typical individual storage warehouse is a warm warehouse, divided into boxes of different sizes (from 0.5 to 30 sq. M.), Leased individuals(70% on average in the market) and small businesses (the remaining 30%). The lessee can store in the warehouse everything that is not prohibited by law and by a specific lessor. The lease term is from two weeks to 11 months (so as not to register the contract with Rosreestr). The cost is about 1000 rubles. for 1 sq. m per month when renting an average (4-6 sq. m.) box for a maximum period.

"Everyone said a categorical" no! " to my project "

The idea to start a business of building a network of individual storage warehouses to Pavel Matveev came after the third glass of red wine on the eve of the new year, 2009. Due to the financial crisis that reached Russia, the future entrepreneur was out of work: the medical project in Renova Group, which he managed at the invitation of the holding's owner, Viktor Vekselberg, was frozen until better times. “For the sake of him, I left the investment directorate of Interros, and now I found myself unemployed,” Matveev recalls in an interview with RBC. - It was at that moment that I decided that I no longer want to be an employee. The idea of creating warehouses for storing things came up. "

Pavel "spied" on the idea of business in his early youth, when he was studying in the USA. “I was supposed to become a doctor, like everyone else in my family, but in the difficult 1990s, dad decided that it was better not to go to medicine: Sonny, where there is gas and oil, there will always be money,” the businessman recalls. ... So Matveev turned out to be a student at the Academy of Management. Ordzhonikidze, but not for long. In 1994 he entered the American Drake University. After studying for three years and receiving a bachelor's degree in management, Matveev returned to Russia. He worked as an assistant auditor at KPMG, Buz and Accenture, then at TNK-BP, where by 2007 he had grown to the head of the apparatus of Viktor Vekselberg - executive director for development gas business TNK-BP. “At that moment I realized that I had reached the ceiling - the maximum in an administrative career, and decided to go to the management investment business"Interros" - says Matveev. But, not having worked there for two years, he returned under the leadership of Vekselberg.

During the 2009 New Year holidays, Matveyev sketched out a financial model of the future business, came up with the name Skladovka, and even with the help of freelancers drew a logo - a lock with a house, and on January 13, 2009, he applied for registration of Skladovka LLC, where he was the only founder. “I typed beautiful presentation and business cards. Since I had no entrepreneurial friends, I sat down and started calling my former colleagues. Everyone said a categorical "no!" to my project, - says Matveev. “Now I clearly understand that with the change of activity, as soon as you leave management and start doing business, you can throw your notebook away.” However, two former colleagues - Nikolay Kapitonenko from TNK-BP and Peter Prikhodko from Interros - liked the idea of warehouses.

“The provision of Russians with housing since the Soviet era has been low, and the level of well-being (including the number of things) has grown dramatically over the past 20 years, so the need for storage services is high and continues to grow,” Pyotr Prikhodko explains his interest in the project to RBC ... "Unlike most buy-and-sell businesses, this one is designed to last for decades, which is what attracted me." For three, the partners invested $ 0.5 million of personal savings in the opening of the first warehouse on Ryabinovaya. For "tens of thousands of dollars" they bought the filling of the warehouse of the closed Key Space and, having learned from the bitter experience of their predecessors, decided that the warehouse on Ryabinovaya, opened on rented premises, would be an exception: the rest of the company would build independently, from scratch.

According to Matveyev, it was not only the risk that the owner could throw the tenant out into the street at any time, but also that in Europe and the USA the self-storage business is perceived by investors 80% as a real estate business and only 20% as a service delivery. The example of the successful British company Big Yellow was taken as a basis. It operates 54 warehouses, mainly in London, with a total area of 320,000 sq. m (of which 180 thousand sq. m. in property) and with a revenue of $ 118 million at the end of the 2013 financial year was estimated by investors at $ 1.2 billion.

A different look at self-storage

One of the pioneers of the Russian self-storage market is the former owner of the Odintsovo confectionery factory, Andrey Korkunov. In 2009, together with his partner Vladimir Singer, he created the Mobius company (mobile individual universal warehouse), which began to provide individual storage services in Moscow. Storage is offered in containers that stand in open areas in different districts of Moscow, and, at the request of the client, can be delivered to his home. On the this moment"Mobius" has 25 thousand square meters. m of rented space.

However, not all market participants believe in the perspective of the "container" approach: climatic features of Russia do not allow storing things in unheated containers under the open sky. But this technology also has its advantages, says general manager company Ekaterina Fedorovskaya: “For example, you can easily drive up to our module by car or order the removal of the module to your home or dacha. We can easily expand the area of warehouse complexes, change their location to a more profitable one. All this gives us the opportunity to offer the client a more attractive rental price - from 25 rubles. per day for 1 sq. m ".

Almost everyone who started a self-storage business did it on rental space: so you take less risks at the start - you study the market, remove doubts. “In our own premises, the profitability of business is significantly higher than in rented premises. We prefer to buy finished premises, and not build from scratch, - says Artem Semyonov, founder of Rentbox company, to RBC. - The new building, of course, is better than the old one - there are no problems with repair and maintenance, since you initially built it for your business, but building from scratch assumes that you invest money first in land, and then in construction, and at least three years you get no income. And when you buy a finished building, you start earning income in six months. Therefore, we believe that buying is the right approach. "

"One third is land, one third is construction, one third is filling"

Semenov's doubts are confirmed by Skladovka's experience. “In 2010, we found an investor - a private fund“ Strategy ”, which agreed to invest tens of millions of dollars in the project,” says Matveev. The company opened the first built warehouse in 2011: it took a lot of time to find a place, to draw up all the permits. We gained experience from our own mistakes: in 2010 we ran into scammers who promised to resolve the issue of obtaining land for rent and disappeared along with the deposit. “Before the arrival of Sobyanin’s team, it was not clear where to look for land, how to re-register it from one type of use to another,” complains Matveev. - Now everything is much more transparent: we participate in auctions for the right to lease. We won two in 2014 ”.

“The Skladovka project attracted our attention by the fact that self-storage companies are trading at a very high EBITDA multiple (on average at 22),” says Dmitry Logvinenko, Investment Director of the Strategy Fund. - This phenomenon is due to the fact that cash flow which companies in this industry earn is stable and crisis-proof ”. According to Logvinenko, the fund's investments in the project have currently exceeded 1 billion rubles. In 2015, the fund will finance the construction of three more warehouses, and from 2016 Skladovka should develop at the expense of own funds and commercial loans. “We are confident that after reaching the level of 15-20 objects, Skladovka will become attractive for strategic investors or will be able to go public,” says Logvinenko. - It is possible that this company will remain in our portfolio as a cash cow with an acceptable level of return on investment. ”

The first issue of the magazine "Container Business" for 2016 published an article "Accelerating the Transsib", dedicated to the advantages and development of the Transsiberian Railway. Great attention it focuses on the Seaport portal, in the development of which STM takes part, and the Fill-Bill service - systems that allow communication of all participants in the transportation process and, as a result, optimize the movement of freight traffic.

Below are excerpts from the material:

<...>The result was the emergence of a system that allows the exchange of information about accompanying documents by rail at a new level - in the form of a portal. The system was named Fill-Bill. In parallel with this project, other areas were developed, aimed at creating a truly paperless technology, because, despite the rapid transition to electronic document management, the movement of physical paper documents remains very significant to this day - there is practically no transportation, where paper would be completely absent. As a result, a service appeared that allows an employee to work in fact in a form, i.e. in an exact electronic copy of a paper document, download information from our own systems in order to fill out documents, and, of course, unload ready documents... Directly from the specialist's workplace, all documents are sent to the Federal Customs Service of Russia by pressing one button, from where the corresponding barcode comes.

Over time, the number of documents supported by the system has increased. Recently, documents of maritime transport were added to it. Far East customs office came up with an initiative to organize the receipt of preliminary information even before the arrival of a vessel with a large number of containers at the port, in order to thus prepare for a decision on unloading. The initiative was related to the fact that the functions of all types of cargo control began to be performed by customs and, therefore, the burden on it increased to a significant extent. As a result, with the participation of STM, a system related to the sea appeared, which allowed interested parties - lines, cargo owners, forwarders - to provide information about the cargo and the goods in a structured way. The portal collected various information from several sources, which allowed customs officers to see what kind of cargo it was and make decisions about whether it was possible to unload the container. This is how an interdepartmental platform appeared, where the interaction of transportation participants made it possible to significantly intensify the processing of goods at checkpoints. This experience was approved by the Federal Customs Service, which in 2013 -2014 carried out research work on the "Sea Port" theme. In the course of the work, a prototype of the "Sea Port" portal was created, on which the principles of interdepartmental interaction were worked out. Test trials of this system were carried out in five seaports of Russia, which allowed the participants of foreign economic activity to submit packages of documents to the state control authorities. in electronic format and, using the information interaction of customs and other control bodies, to quickly carry out the procedures for documenting ships and the goods transported on them. We must pay tribute to the heads of the FCS of Russia, who were not afraid to take the risk, and thanks to whom the country began to develop the information system "Sea Port", which really meets the requirements of the XXI century.

<…>

The main idea of the Fill-Bill system is that different participants in the transportation process can work with a single set of documents, regardless of the geographical location of the participants in the transaction and transportation. The second idea is that there is no need to re-enter data, since the system allows you to use the same information about cargo and goods to prepare a variety of documents. The third idea is compatibility. If participants in foreign economic activity have their own information systems, they can establish two-way communication with the Fill-Bill system and transmit through it electronic documents installed formats as in the system railroad and in information system FCS of Russia. All together this leads to a significant - at times - acceleration of work with documents.<...>
