What does it mean to work remotely. What is remote or remote work according to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation? Continuous learning and growth

05June

Hello! In this article we will talk about remote work.

Remote work- an already established trend. Despite its great popularity in the West and in Russia, most CIS residents are still skeptical about the fact that it is possible to work outside the office. I will try to dispel several popular beliefs about remote work, tell you what advantages it has, who is better off looking for remote work, and where.

What is remote work

Remote work in Russia has been actively developing for the last 7 - 8 years. Companies are hiring remote employees so that they work from home and not from the office.

Remote work - a form of employment in which the employee and the employer are at a distance from each other and transfer / receive tasks, and then wages using the Internet.

Remote is often compared to. They have a lot in common:

  • You work primarily on the Internet.
  • You can work from home on your computer.
  • Free schedule.

But there is one fundamental difference: freelancers in most cases work on projects. It looks more like real business who interacts with different customers in different time... There are regular partners with whom you can work for a long time, but nevertheless, the freelancer himself chooses how much his work costs and what services he provides.

Teleworking has more to do with real office work. You also complete tasks, report to a supervisor, and receive a salary. Only you do not work together with others, but from your home, personal office and even a cafe. You can work anywhere you like.

Remote work is good because it can be combined with anything: training, freelancing, even homework.

Important: do not confuse full-fledged remote work, with dubious vacancies like at home, assembling some goods and something like that.

Why remote work has become so popular

Remote work has been consistently keeping its trend in Russia and around the world for several years.

The main argument in its favor is cost savings. A company can save about 200 thousand rubles a year if it transfers 1 employee to a remote location.

In addition to the economic benefits, a large number of ways to control the activities of employees have also appeared. Leaders are not willing to take their employees' word for it, especially if they are paying for the hours they work. Software allows you to see what the employee was doing on his computer, what tasks he performed and for how long.

The third factor that speaks for the distance is the character, psychology and comfort of employees. Some people really find it much more convenient to work at home, in their comfort zone: communicate with colleagues through instant messengers, receive tasks and complete them remotely.

This is a great option for introverts who have a hard time going out and talking to real people.

And the fourth factor is the erasure of language barriers and boundaries. Large Western companies have to pay their skilled employees huge sums of money to work on their projects. This is not only a salary, but also insurance, allowances, deductions, etc. Most large firms are much more profitable to hire an employee from another country.

Minsk is a vivid illustration of this factor. Large European companies that are engaged in development come and set up their offices in Minsk due to the fact that employees in this city have to pay 2 - 3 times less than in conventional Germany.

Looking at all these factors, most economists and analysts have been saying since 2015 that remote work in Russia is becoming and has already become a new trend that covers everything. more areas... It is convenient, profitable and simple.

Pros and cons of remote work

Now let's define the positive and negative aspects of remote work. Let's start, as always, with a good one.

Pros of remote work:

  • Flexibility in managing your own time.
  • New skills. Working from home forces you to take a fresh look at your own efficiency, learn to manage yourself and your work process.
  • It's cheaper. For both the company and the employees.

The biggest advantage is flexibility. You get complete freedom. It is easiest for many creative people to work at night, for some early in the morning, and for others, they simply cannot force themselves to work in the evening. Many have their own peculiarities, but standard work ignores this.

Remote work, on the contrary, allows you to act more effectively, studying your body, yourself and the organization of work processes.

Minuses:

  • Lack of communication. Communication and mutual assistance in projects is very important. At a distance, you will not be able to knock on the next door or address the person with whom you are sitting next to. Sometimes it's hard.
  • Many ways to distract yourself: flipping through social networks, cleaning, cooking, even just walking around the room. This greatly interferes with concentration.

Lack of communication is not the best a big problem... Indeed, sometimes it is very difficult to do without live communication, but working moments can be solved in correspondence, instant messengers or, in extreme cases, with a phone call.

Distraction is a bigger problem. Lack of self-discipline has killed many freelancers and telecommuters.

As you can see, working remotely has its advantages and disadvantages. It is very suitable for independent people who know how to manage their time, and is completely unsuitable for those who are constantly distracted. Working from home, you will only get paid for how much you have earned. And in the office you can sit your pants all day, doing practically nothing.

A few words about salary

Most companies agree on the same point about remote workers:

Remote workers should receive the same amount as the people who work in the office (if they have an equal amount of work done and tasks).

According to official statistics, 8 out of 10 companies that hire remote workers follow this policy. One of them gives out regional coefficients (depending on the region, salaries of specialists of the same level will differ) and one, when searching for applicants, deliberately reduces the salary by deleted jobs, in order to economize.

At first glance, it may seem that in financial plan remote work is just as beneficial as regular work. But in reality, everything is different. The most important argument is fare... And this is not only travel, car maintenance, etc. It is also the time you spend in order to get to work.

For example, let's say you spend 1 hour commuting to work and 1 hour getting home. In large cities, even more.

That's 10 hours a week and 40 hours a month that you could spend more efficiently: learning something new, going to the gym, spending time with your family, even getting a better night's sleep. Thus, you become a more effective employee, which means that you have much more opportunities.

You not only save money, but also work more efficiently. That is why I believe that in practice, salaries and prospects in remote work will be significantly higher.

Just look at the American workaholic cult. It is not the workers who work hard that are valued there, but those who work hard and efficiently.

Another good factor is the lack of regional linkage. For example, in my region (Oryol region) the average salary is 16,000 rubles. If you really plow, then in 10 years you can reach an income of 25-30 thousand rubles a month. But remote work is full of such vacancies.

For people from regions with a low average salary distance, the only option is to get a lot. Except for moving to big cities, of course.

What professions are in demand

Now let's talk in more detail about the in-demand professions. Despite the fact that remote work is developing and going uphill, it still dominates separate directions where it is much easier to find a job.

1. Online sellers.

The most demanded profession at a remote location is related to sales. Hundreds of ads on dozens of thematic job search sites. Most of the vacancies are related to cold selling and bringing the client to a deal.

The salesperson is now the most demanded profession in general, not only in a remote location. The ability to find and offer a product to a client is highly valued.

Sales professionals have high income. Although the salary is low (15-30 thousand rubles), due to bonuses for fulfilling plans and percent of sales, many pros earn from 80,000 thousand rubles a month exclusively on cold sales.

2. Programmers.

Where without programmers. This is a very popular profession not only in Russia, but also abroad. You can work remotely even in large European companies.

Good specialists from the CIS are highly regarded in Europe. Paying in-house talent is expensive, which is why many companies are turning their attention to other employee markets.

For programmers with work experience of 3 years or more, the average salary is 45-90 thousand rubles, depending on the specialization. When working abroad, you can count on a salary of $ 3,000 per month. If you are lucky and you can interest the company, it will offer a permanent job and help in arranging a move to another country.

3. Designers.

Designers are needed everywhere. They create really cool stuff out of almost nothing. Professional design teams are required in any area, so this area is very well developed in Russia.

Remote work as a designer can be found at any agency. Most creative leaders are loyal to the desire of employees to work remotely.

Good designers can't get paid. Most design vacancies are in the price bracket from 24 to 48 thousand rubles. The national average salary for a designer is 47,000 rubles a month.

4. Copywriters.

Copywriters most often work on a project-by-project basis, but there are agencies that hire staff authors remotely.

Although this is wrong, but this also includes journalists. They also work with texts, but in a different format. However, there are many remote journalists out there and the profession is popular as well.

In general, this is a fairly popular Internet profession, but finding a job in an office is much more difficult. As for the salary, it all depends on the qualifications and the name of the author. Average authors receive 300 - 500 rubles per hour, more advanced - from 2 - 3 thousand rubles per hour of work.

5. Translators.

Translators are becoming more and more valuable every year. Many high-quality specialized materials are published on foreign sites and forums, and all this can be dragged into the ru-segment.

Even good translator working remotely will not be able to receive much. The average income is about 40-50 thousand rubles a month, if you work exclusively with companies as an employee. But if you combine it with freelancing, it comes out from 80 to 100 thousand rubles.

6. Managers of online projects.

In order to create cool projects, you need not only employees, but also competent leaders. Most companies have a specific manager working on each project. He negotiates with the client, chooses employees to complete the task, tells what they will do and controls the entire work process.

Most remote managers work with creative and development teams. We all have one project, each is working on a certain direction.

Project Manager in Russia is a highly paid profession. The average salary in the market is 70,000 rubles. But such a position is difficult to get. They don't take someone off the street. You can only gain experience in a company, then a promotion and after that, only with experience in certain areas, work in other companies.

7. Lawyers and accountants.

Lawyers and accountants are the most popular professions in the opinion of most people who are far from the Internet. The reality is less colorful, but nonetheless, remote lawyers and accountants are also entitled to stable jobs and high salaries.

Large companies prefer to keep lawyers and accountants on their staff. Therefore, if you are exclusively interested in remote work, in most cases you will be working with a small business.

The average salary of an accountant in Russia is 40,000 rubles. For lawyers, this figure is lower - 30,000 rubles.

8. Online consultants.

This is one of the easiest remote job vacancies. You must have seen more than once conversations with online consultants pop up on sites.

Most often, the role of online consultants is performed by company employees. But sometimes individual people are invited to remote control to respond to users.

Since the work is quite simple, and most conversations follow the instructions, the salary is not very big (from 15 to 30 thousand rubles on average). But the load is high. If the company is popular or provides interesting services, there will be a lot of questions.

9. SMMs.

V in social networks... People who work in this direction are engaged through social networks. They work with groups of companies and individuals. With the help of advertising, maintaining publics, posts, and various tools, they turn ordinary users into clients.

SMM is now one of the most demanded areas. I'm not sure if it will be in the same demand in 5-10 years, so I put it at the end of the list.

Nonetheless, SMMs are getting pretty good money. The average price for maintaining a public (unique posts, increasing the number of subscribers and working with clients) is 20-25 thousand rubles per month. At the same time, you can work with 2 - 4 such publics every month.

These are the most popular jobs that can generate stable income over time. The most promising areas that will constantly grow and show a stable result are sales, programming and design. But with the exception of SMM, all these professions are guaranteed to be in demand, popular and highly paid for at least 10 to 20 years.

Where to look for vacancies

Remote job vacancies can be searched in several ways. Let's consider the most popular ones.

General job sites:

  • hh .ru is the most popular Russian job search site. You can find almost everything. More than 20,000 advertisements for the search for remote employees are published each year.
  • rabota .ua- Ukrainian analogue of the site hh.ru. Almost the same functionality. Ideal for residents of Ukraine for job search, including remote jobs.
  • monster .com- a large site for finding a job. Contains over 500 different ads for remote work.

Large popular and interesting sites are predominantly in English, so if you don't know the language, it's better to take a few months to study it. So you can find Good work abroad or in a TOP Russian company.

For those who know foreign languages, you can go the other way: enter the name of your profession in English in Google. If you are interested in deleted jobs in general, then you can simply enter phrases without the name of the profession.

And, finally, you can not search for ads on special sites, but go directly to the portals of companies in the "work" section and see what is offered there.

Example:- even without experience in the field of finance, you can work as a salesman or collector.

As a bonus: Vkontakte has an excellent group for freelancers “Distance. Freelance, remote work ". Interesting deletion suggestions periodically appear in the feed of this group. Most often these are sales, but you can stumble upon work for designers, programmers, SMMs, etc. There are many similar groups on social networks, but this one is the best.

Is it worth working remotely

Remote work is a good opportunity to work for certain categories of people. You will not have a boss who will constantly demand tasks to be completed. You will have to communicate with colleagues and project leaders to a minimum. Plus, you will be working from home. But there is one but: for undisciplined people who find it difficult to force themselves to work without being kicked by their boss, it is unrealistic to work remotely.

There is nothing you can do about it. You can only change, by hard work strengthening your character and approach to work, or look for a familiar and stable place. But there are a few more complex factors:

From personal experience: it is very hard to work at home, where something is constantly happening. Relatives cannot understand that you are working, and will constantly come, do something and interfere in every possible way. And it’s very difficult to explain it. It took a year to explain in an accessible and calm way that I needed silence.

And the complexity of working at home, in the comfort zone, where it is customary to rest, is also present, and this is not an empty phrase. But there are many other options: rent a small office, work in a cafe, equip Personal Area... If you look closely, apart from a personal attitude to work and difficulties with discipline, there are no problems.

To summarize: if you are a disciplined person and want to work remotely, get more money and develop in one of the areas listed above, try looking for remote vacancies. If you find it difficult to work from home, look for exit options.

Conclusion

Remote work is a great option for those who don't like office and endless simulation work activities... Remote work has its pros and cons, but for many people it is an ideal career option. If you work in one of the specialties indicated in the article, then you can easily get a job remotely and earn money.

If you are tired of commuting to work during rush hour every day, and communication with colleagues does not bring the former joy, you can think about looking remote work or try yourself as a freelancer. It's tempting: you don't have to go to the office, the bosses are far away. However, for all its advantages, remote work also has a number of disadvantages. Why is teleworking dangerous to a career? Evaluating all the pros and cons will help.

Benefits of "remote"
First, let's stop confusing the concept of "remote work" and "freelance". The fact is that remote work does not always mean freelancing: you may well be a full-time employee of an organization, but at the same time work from home. A freelancer is a person who is not bound by a permanent employment contract with any company, but who carries out individual projects under a service agreement. At the same time, a "free artist", as a rule, also works remotely.

According to Superjob Research Center, today. Another 10% of organizations use outsourced remote workers.

Who is most likely to seek the benefits of working outside the office? Young mothers who are trying not to lose their qualifications during parental leave, students looking for a part-time job without prejudice to their grade book, as well as retirees who are not satisfied with the state of their wallet.

Most often, in remote work, specialists are attracted by a free schedule. However, telecommuting does not always mean planning your day on your own. Often, a specialist is required to remotely support a workflow at certain hours (for example, answer calls). In this case, there is no question of a free schedule, however, it is quite possible to combine such work with something else (with another job or with caring for a child).

The undoubted advantage of "remote work" is the fact that the employee does not spend 2-3 hours a day on the way to the office and back, which means that he has the opportunity to devote more time to his family or other matters. Saves travel money. In addition, you don't need an office suit to work from home, which means you can easily save on office-style clothes.

And if we are talking not just about “remote work”, but about freelancing, then here we can talk not only about freedom from office conventions, but also about freedom of choice of work, because a freelancer himself can choose projects and customers in accordance with his interests and capabilities ... For example, if a freelance journalist is not interested in writing about politics, he may well be working on other topics.

For some, it is also important that you can arrange a home workplace according to your own taste, regardless of corporate rules. Yes, houses and walls help: creative work often requires inspiration and peace of mind.

A few fly in the ointment
A specialist who works outside the office, in most cases, does not see his boss often - some once a week, and some once every six months. Many see this as a plus: as they say, away from the bosses, closer to the kitchen, in other words - less stress. However, this advantage in practice most often turns into a disadvantage of telecommuting - a lack of feedback from the manager. A remote employee does not always receive an assessment of his work on time, and this slows down professional growth and makes it difficult to master new competencies.

A specialist working outside the office usually rarely sees his colleagues. The lack of professional communication is another disadvantage of "remote work": the employee often lacks operational information, both official (for example, about dismissals and appointments) and unofficial (about the reasons for the same dismissals). However, in some companies this is partly overcome with the help of an internal corporate portal.

Lack of feedback and professional communication inevitably affects the career of a specialist. The professional slows down, and therefore job growth... Of course, there are many exceptions to this rule, but the general trend is obvious: it is impossible to become a vice president of a company while working from home.

There are other downsides as well. To design a workplace, you will have to spend own funds(purchase a modern computer, provide constant Internet access, etc.). In addition, in some regions, the Internet is quite an expensive pleasure with a low signal quality.

For some, such a disadvantage of remote work as the lack of the need to put oneself in order every morning is relevant. If before going to the office you certainly did your hair and makeup, put on clean ironed clothes, then at home you can sit down at the computer right in your pajamas. As a result, a well-groomed woman risks gradually becoming a domestic workhorse.

In any case, remote work requires high self-discipline and personal responsibility, and therefore is not suitable for everyone. So before deciding to leave the office, carefully weigh the pros and cons.

How to look for a remote job?
Where to start looking for freelance or remote work? First, keep in touch with the professional community. Yesterday's colleagues can help you not only with advice, but also with a recommendation, offer to carry out a project for the company in which they now work.

Secondly, regularly browse the Internet resources specially created for finding freelance projects and remote work. Accompany your responses with examples of work, do test tasks, participate in contests, in a word, show the product with your face.

Thirdly, look through the usual job advertisements - there are also good offers that imply remote or one-time work.

When looking for freelance and remote work, you most likely cannot avoid interviewing. This is not surprising, because before entrusting you, for example, with the design of a shop window, the employer will want to make sure at a personal meeting that you are an adequate person and a professional in your field. It is also possible that face-to-face communication will be replaced by telephone conversation or correspondence on the Internet. These options may seem more convenient, but the applicant should be as careful as possible so as not to fall for the bait of an unscrupulous employer. Better to insist on a face-to-face meeting and make sure the company you intend to work for is trustworthy.

Don't forget about the legal side of the matter. Cooperation with any organization must be documented. For example, if you are a copywriter and write materials for a company as a freelancer, you must sign civil contract on the provision of services and terms of reference, and after the end of cooperation - an act of completed work. If you are employed by the company staff, then a full-fledged labor contract, in which the remote nature of the work is spelled out.

Superjob wishes you success in your search for the right career and life decisions!

Hello dear friends! While I'm busy filling my blog and sticking to my 100-day goals, I suddenly got a pain in my knee. For I am actively preparing for the half marathon distance, and my body, apparently, is beginning to be capricious because of this.

I'm not going to give up, but can someone tell me what to do about it? Please write in the comments.

In the meantime, I’ll tell you a little about what remote work on the Internet is, how it is done and “what it is eaten with”. In a word, you will learn everything you need to understand the essence of the phenomenon. I hope that the information that you read will help you decide how suitable this type of employment is for you.

A female copywriter helped me work on this post. Here's what she wrote about herself as her own review:

“I am 20 years old, and I have been working as a copywriter for a year (that is, I write articles to order). As for me, this is not such a long work experience, but it is quite enough to feel deep sympathy for a remote person. Along with this, I study at the university, music school, in general, I do everything that interests me and helps to realize myself. Working 3-4 hours a day (or about 25 a week), I earn 3000 hryvnia per month - a little more than $ 120. In general, quite modestly, but in proportion to the time and effort spent. "

It seems that not a lot. But for a full-time student, this is a very good addition to the scholarship, and without the need to unload wagons or run around for days as a promoter with leaflets at the ready.

Remote work (synonyms: telework, teleworking) - form labor activity, in which the employee and the employer are at a significant physical and geographical distance from each other. Moreover, all Required documents, tasks and results are transferred by the parties to each other using modern means communication (earlier - fax, today - the Internet).

It is clear that with such an organization of labor, a lot of technical and psychological features arise, which, upon a certain consideration, can turn out to be both pluses and minuses.

In my consulting practice, I distinguish 2 types of remote work.

Types of remote work

In general, telecommuting is a very broad concept that unites many different types of activities. But the essence is always the same - you are removed from the employer, office, "workplace", ie. stay at a certain physical distance from them. This means that you can work almost anywhere: at home, on a bed or armchair, in a park or cafe, on the beach or even on a hike.

I would like to immediately dispel the stereotype that remote work is. This is not true. It can be different: with a standardized schedule and without, with enrollment in the staff and complete independence, with varying degrees of responsibility and workload. Everything, as always, depends on what you do, how and on what terms.

Workplace in Hikkaduwa, Sri Lanka

Working for one permanent employer

For example, you can be an employee of a certain company and do your job at home or in another place convenient for you: take calls, program, draw, or even sew.

Many companies are switching to this form of employment today, especially from the IT sector. This way, the employer can save the cost of renting your workplace and give you more space for creativity and self-organization.

More often than not, you will not have a free schedule; work will need to be done at certain times. But there are also cases when it is necessary to complete a specific task in a certain time.

When I, after my enchanting, moved to a new workplace, one of the ways to organize work was just remote cooperation. True, I only used it when I didn't want to go to the office at all.

Freelance

Freelance worker hired by natural or legal entities to perform one-time tasks. About that, I wrote a separate detailed article, please see.

I must say, this is my favorite kind of remote control:

  • maximum freedom in choosing activities, customers, task volumes and deadlines.
  • the ability to work from anywhere in the world where there is Internet
  • independence from the volatility of economic markets (it is simply impossible to fire you)

For reference, from the English language "freelance", if you break the word into two parts (free and lance), then a free spear comes out or, without scoffing, a free spearman, a hired worker (freelancer). That is, a person with certain skills and abilities who are hired for long-term projects or one-time work.

Today it is the most famous species remote, especially popular for IT specialists, rewriters, smm and seo specialists.

What is the advantage of freelancing?

In my opinion, it is very important to change the relationship between employer and employee. They are transformed into a customer-executor or client-executor relationship. Have you noticed what is the point?

That's right, in the hierarchy, there is much less of it or none at all. Ideally, the client and the contractor are equal partners working on a project or assignment, where each plays a role.

Working from home on the Internet, you independently choose a type of activity that matches your interests and skills, choose a customer, project, payment, terms. You are an equal participant in labor relations and all aspects of your work are now agreed directly with the client.

Freelance pluses:

  • even more degrees of freedom
  • the ability to choose projects for yourself
  • maximum opportunities for self-realization
  • freedom of movement and mobility
  • lack of bosses, bosses, hierarchies and offices

Favorite photo that reflects the essence of the removal

Another important detail is communication with customers, which most often occurs through Internet correspondence (less often a Skype interview), which means that your gender, age does not play a role, appearance and other aspects of your personality that may become grounds for discrimination in admission to real work.

About the problems faced by applicants at the age of me too.

By the way, when looking for a job, be aware that indicating the gender or age of the applicant in the announcement is illegal.

How to find your dream job?

Sometimes it is enough to google "freelance" and in return you will receive many links to different ones. Another option is regular job search sites. On most of them, you can select the type of employment in the search filter. I think you have already guessed that you need to check the box next to "remote work".

However, everything is not easy! Newcomers on the stock exchanges cannot get through, and no one answers the sent letters-responses ... The most difficult thing is always the start. Therefore, we recommend that you start not from scratch, but with training from professionals. For this I spend 1 time a month. Sign up!

Outcomes

I told you what remote work is and what it is. As a result, I would like to separately highlight the advantages and disadvantages of this type of activity.

Advantages

  1. The ability to work in any comfortable place, and if you work via the Internet, you can be located almost anywhere in the world.
  2. Saving time and money on travel and quite serious: 1-3 hours every day. What to do with so much free time? You decide!
  3. The ability to independently organize your working day (in most cases), and ideally full control over the work process.
  4. Lack of control from the bosses, which causes a wonderful feeling of freedom and an influx of inspiration.
  5. Saving on the dress code, work even in slippers and panties!

Flaws

For example, not all people find it so easy to organize themselves and make themselves work. For me, this is periodically a real disaster, because of which I delay the execution of work as far as possible. An important nuance for many people is the lack of colleagues with whom you can talk and consult.

It also entails other disadvantages, such as the lack of a sense of involvement in a common cause, a sense of the team. According to many experts, professional growth slows down through remote work, since Feedback from the employer does not always come in a timely manner.

Weigh, choose, analyze and decide! In addition to free working conditions, remote work will provide you with an excellent opportunity to find your own business and develop professional skills.

Or it can become for you the most real way of life, when you build your life not around your working time, but in the intervals between your favorite activities.

Today we will tell you about remote work on the Internet, its types and vacancies that are relevant in 2019, as well as how to find a job on the Internet without investment and deception and get higher than the average salary in your city.

Greetings, dear reader! With you are the founders of the business magazine HiterBober.ru Alexander Berezhnov and Vitaly Tsyganok.

For more than 7 years we have been making money through the Internet, now we have our own team, we have a free schedule and work from home.

But it was not always so.

We did not have rich parents, at the very beginning we barely made ends meet and more than once faced deception.

From the article you will learn:

  • How find a real job at home and not run into scammers?
  • What vacancies works on the Internet are relevant in 2019?
  • Where to start your way to the Internet for a beginner?

Sit back and close all additional windows on your screen! You will not regret reading the article to the end!

1. Internet work at home - what beginners need to know

Working on the Internet at home gives a person the opportunity to forget about schedules, getting up at 7 am and vacation on schedule. By starting to receive income through the worldwide network, you will gain financial stability, and most importantly, you will work only for yourself.

In recent years, the market for remote work and freelancing has been growing by an average of 30% per year.

According to the leading Russian analytical agencies in 2015, the total amount of funds earned by freelancers and remote employees amounted to about $ 1 billion!

Even if your profits are low at first, you will gradually improve your skills and soon you will definitely achieve a level of income that satisfies you.

However, many people have concerns when it comes to working on the Internet, because for most it is fiction. It seems to them that working from home, it is impossible to earn money without their investments and deception on the part of employers. People who have encountered scammers more than once are wary of new opportunities.

We assert that Internet activity is a real perspective, accessible to almost everyone.

It is not at all necessary to be a cool "IT specialist" or a programmer to receive income using a computer. It is enough to have constant access to the network, free time, an electronic wallet, for example, WebMoney or Yandex.Money and a desire to work.

Benefits of working on the Internet

Let's take a look at the main advantages that work on the web gives us:

  • No formal (special) education required... No matter how many grades you graduated from, which one you have social status and who you are, there is work on the Internet that you can do and get paid for;
  • Unlimited income... There is no upper limit in your earnings here. If you are a talented enough person and are able to quickly learn new things, then you will succeed in this business without any problems;
  • The ability to manage your time... Working online, you set your own schedule. You can take breaks whenever you want, start your work day after lunch, set a day off any day of the week. People who work in the office or in the shop "from call to call" can only dream of such a schedule.

You should immediately warn newcomers that high profits in the first weeks and even months of working in the network are unlikely to be expected, especially if you are looking for income without investment and risk. Internet work for beginners is usually a painstaking and monotonous activity: making money on various kinds of cheap tasks.

Such work is more suitable for and who want to earn some money on vacation or in their free time from school.

This also includes earnings on games, paid polls in the Internet. There is even such a type of income as typing: it is proposed to simply translate audio or video content into a text file. Such work is paid, I must say, meagerly.

The main thing is not to dwell on this level for a long time, otherwise you will stagnate financially and personally. When starting to work in the electronic space, always think about the prospects: if your income is constantly increasing, and the time spent on labor, on the contrary, decreases, then you are on the right track.

So we figured out the concept of "Working on the Internet", saw clearly its advantages and disadvantages.

Before moving on to the next information block, I would like to note that working on the Internet in most cases is impossible without your own website, on which, for example, you can place your portfolio, or at least without knowledge of how websites are created and function in general, therefore It's a good idea to undergo special training before switching to freelance. A resource on which you can learn all these subtleties for free and online and which we personally trust -

2. Remote work and Freelance: features and benefits

Freelance and remote work are almost identical concepts.

Freelancer means in translation from English - "freelance employee", that is, a person who works remotely without a rigid schedule.

If you have chosen this path, then you will have to look for clients yourself. Once you find a customer, you do the job and get a fee for it. Freelance can be thought of as).

Remote work- this is practically the same job in its classical sense, only in this case you are not geographically with the employer in the same office or premises. For example, you are an accountant who works from home and keeps track of the finances and workflow of a certain company.

Online remote work can be found for representatives of hundreds of professions - journalists, designers, programmers, teachers, translators, managers, engineers. Any skills and abilities that do not require your direct presence at the place of work can be implemented via the Internet.

Today, through the web, you can write articles, teach people English and yoga, paint pictures, create business projects and place bets on football matches taking place in New Zealand. Any type of activity that you are fluent in can, with a reasonable approach, bring you stable profits.

Working from home on the Internet is a chance to make a name for yourself and turn your talent into money.

Freelancers today are both representatives of creative professions and narrow technical specialists.

According to statistics, people who work remotely earn in 1.5-2 times more of their office colleagues, while spending less time on work (this includes the time it takes to commute to work).

The average earnings of a specialist working in the network is approximately from 30 to 100 thousand rubles per month.

In classic remote work, the customer and the contractor do not meet with each other in person, but communicate exclusively through communication means - the Internet, phone, skype or via email.

However, some freelancers can find clients in their hometown and communicate with them personally, in this case the work will not be remote.

For remote work, it doesn't matter where you live - in a village with a population of 2,000 people or in a metropolis. The Internet will give you the ability to instantly connect to anywhere in the world.

Working as a copywriter, translator, IT specialist, you can communicate with clients from different countries: the main condition for successful cooperation is mutual understanding and fair wages.

5 main advantages (+) of remote work and freelancing

Let's now consider the main advantages of remote work and freelancing:

  1. Saving time and money... You do not spend money on travel, car, office clothes and travel time to work;
  2. Stability and prospects... When you work in an office or in a factory, you have only one employer on whom your salary depends. If you work online, the number of customers is potentially unlimited: you can choose the most generous and adequate partners yourself. Losing one of your customers is not a dismissal;
  3. Flexible schedule... For example, you have children who cannot be left unattended, or it is physically difficult for you to get up at 6 in the morning: all these problems are easily solved if you choose to work from home;
  4. Feeling of inner freedom... The freelancer has no immediate superior and bindings to the place of work: he free man living where he wants.

    Some types of freelancing involve payment for work every day: it is more convenient than getting paid once a month or once every 2 weeks;

  5. The ability to combine work with travel... You can live in warm countries, continuing to work according to your own schedule: the customer does not care where you send the work done, the main thing is meeting deadlines and quality.

But don't think that becoming a freelancer means getting paid for almost nothing. Such work also has certain disadvantages. The main one is the lack of a social package. If you have not formalized your activity as, or not, you do not have the benefits that officially employed people have.

For example, you have to pay for the hospital yourself if you get sick. You will also have to pay for vacations out of pocket.

On forums, blogs and on special sites for freelancers, you can find reviews about working on the Internet from those who actually tried this type of activity or are still practicing it. Below, you will also find our testimonials and the testimonials of our friends about working on the Internet.

There are those who are categorically not satisfied with "complete freedom": no one tells you how and what to do, you have to get to everything with your own mind. But, if you have joined this business very successfully, then most likely you will not want any other work other than freelancing.

The site (group) administrator is also involved in the moderation of comments and maintains the proper level of the administered project.

4. Our own Internet experience

We have also been engaged in Internet activities for several years in order to generate income. We started with “offline” and freelancing, where we gradually got to our own business on the Internet. Now we have experience of both permanent remote employees of the company and employers. Below we will briefly describe each direction separately.

1) As remote employees

Since this all started. Only after several years of hard work did we really understand Internet technologies, marketing, Internet promotion.

Vitaly Tsyganok, co-founder of the business magazine KhiterBober.ru:

We have earned about 500,000 rubles ($ 7,000). At first, orders were taken exclusively in their city, later they connected Internet channels for searching for customers. Word of mouth also played a significant role - satisfied customers recommended us to their friends and it was not we who were looking for orders, but the customers wanted to work with us as quality performers.

I would like to say a special thank you to our work with Alexander at the Alex Yanovsky School of Business and Personal Development, where we dealt with promotion, marketing and brand positioning of the Business School.

At the same time, we created our own business on the network, and so we left work on the Internet, and the Internet business began to bring us much more and we decided not to be scattered, but to develop only our own business.

In my opinion, everything happened as it should. We went from simple to complex: training, then the first projects, then work and permanent orders, and only then our own Internet business, now it brings us several thousand dollars a month.

Therefore, I was convinced from my own experience that it is not only possible, but also necessary to work on the Internet, there would be a desire, and the money will come.

2) As employers

Now we no longer take on the fulfillment of orders, although we can advise our friends, who will fulfill them efficiently.

At the moment we are developing our business of creating and monetizing information sites on the Internet. On one of these sites, you are now reading this article.

Now we ourselves regularly use the services of remote employees, primarily copywriters (authors of texts), and from time to time we cooperate with designers and programmers.

Having been in the "shoes" of remote workers, we have learned how to select the right specialists, the price and quality of services which best meet the needs of our projects.

And if you work on the Internet, doing freelance, then know that if you wish, it will be much easier for you to open own business than the classic office worker.

After all, a freelancer is an entrepreneur!

5. Reviews of real people about working on the Internet

Evgeny Bobyshev
businessman

For more than 5 years now, I have been working as a full-time employee on a remote basis. In this article I will talk about how I came to this job, what the pros and cons are, and what I plan to do with it all.

I started my career in IT from working in a 1C franchisee, where I received average money for my small town, then I was drawn to something more "tough", I began to learn Python / Java. This allowed me to create several projects that to this day bring me the average salary for my city, but it did not work out cool. I didn't find eggs and money to open something more serious and risky, so I started looking for another job. As it turned out, there was nothing in the city (and even now there is not), so I began to consider options for moving to another city, at the same time I read different books. So in the famous book “Remote. Office is not required, ”I learned about the possibility of working remotely, and then I started searching. After 2 months, sending 30 applications every day to different companies, I found a job as a remote tester, then I grew to QA-Automation, and then moved to the development department, where I am at the moment.

Organization of remote control

1) I am fully formalized as a full-time employee. In fact, my workplace is listed as the city of Moscow. I send the documents by mail, and once a year at a general meeting in Moscow I sign all the secondary papers.
  • The only drawback of this scheme is the fear of banks. Like, why do you want to take out a loan here if you work in Moscow. Where you worked, get there. But as my colleagues say, my case is an exception.
2) The workplace, all equipment, IDEA and others - at my expense. I guarantee to the employer that I independently ensure the performance of the equipment. The maximum period of absence for technical reasons is 2 hours. In general, everyone is hammered into this, but when the construction of a neighboring house was going on and often did not fall, I had to keep the cables of two providers at home at once.

3) There is no jerking off with screenshots, webcams, and so on. I just have to write off 7 hours a day on tasks. Once a week, the team lead checks the adequacy of your write-offs. There have not been any special conflicts about this in 5 years.

4) Standard meetings, calls via zoom, slack for corporate communication, Jira delivery tools, and others. By the general feeling, this turns out to be many times easier than walking around the office and looking for the person you need. I wrote, called - he answered, fumbled the screen, showed the code, and everything is fine.

5) The salary falls on the card, the insurance is sent by mail, certificates are issued and so on - through accountants and managers. A couple of times a year he is going on a corporate trip (actually a paid vacation for a week).

6) Bonuses, goodies, corporate English and so on - everything is like people have, reporting on checks in the accounting department.

As a conclusion: in terms of productivity and work organization, there is no difference at all whether you are sitting at home or going to the office.

Plus remotes for the company

Practice shows that developers from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk are quite an expensive pleasure, which, at the same time, is quite mobile. Those. if you hire a person today for an adequate salary, in 6-12 months, a person may leave for quite adequate reasons:
  • Above zp
  • Closer to home
  • More comfortable office
  • Having friends in this company
  • Etc
This all adds to the turnover, which has a rather negative effect on the development time. Plus, you have to spend a lot on everything related to Hr.

Moreover, if we take cities by the type: Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Crimea, Krasnodar, Saratov, Belgorod, etc., then you can find a fairly large number of competent developers who will be happy to work with Moscow minus 10-20%. This will be several times more than they receive locally, and a little cheaper for the company.

Plus the mentality of the people. If a developer of a sufficiently high level did not leave "to conquer Moscow or the Valley", then it is likely that he does not particularly like changes, he is satisfied with a calm, measured life. Therefore, offering a good salary and the absence of crap, such a person stays with us. So almost 2/3 of our teams have been working for more than 5 years, and all the responsibilities of Hr are done by one girl.

Income level question

At the current place, I receive about 3 salaries that would be offered to me in the regional center. Here we add income from my own projects, and it turns out that I do not live poorly by local standards.

Considering that this is not a freelance job, I have no problems with taxes, medical support, etc. This is a good enough condition if you have a mobile psyche and are very worried when there are no orders, the customer throws money and so on.

Working from home, I save about 20% of my salary, which I would spend on commuting to work, dining at work, some spontaneous purchases on the way home, clothes, gasoline, and so on. Those. for example, my jeans and sneakers are 4 years old and they are doing quite well. They just don't wear out. True, sometimes a situation arises that you need to go somewhere in a more or less businesslike manner, but I don't have that.

What has become worse is that utility bills have increased, plus I change my computer chair + mouse, keyboard once a year.

Professional growth issue

As for personal growth, then modern technologies allow you to organize a "council of experienced colleagues" on telecommuting. There are no problems here, if only there was own wish to ask questions.

As for career growth, it is more difficult. Growth in one company has a limit, and remote work directly with real cool projects is a rarity. Most of the time, cool team lead positions are located in Moscow, and there they are already recruiting people for the office. Those. while the distance is more, for ordinary developers.

An emotional issue

1) Relationships and girls. It is advisable to go to a remote location when you already have a companion, or have a good option... Firstly, to stay at home alone - you can go crazy. Secondly, when you go to the office, you are always ready to go somewhere, go out for a walk, tell some stories, etc. more withdrawn.

2) Cats and other pets. I have a cat and cats at home that help me cope with stress. From time to time I play with them, and secondly, when programming, I often explain to them how my code works. Surprisingly, it helps to quickly understand the essence of the problem. My colleagues from a remote location, as well as almost all have pets.

3) The comfort of working from home. Some of my colleagues make a "nest" for themselves on the balcony so that their wife and children do not jerk them too much. Someone rents some kind of space for themselves. Someone goes to work for neighbors, someone works from their parents. There are many options, all have their drawbacks. One thing is for sure, it will not be possible to get rid of the interference 100%. You need to be prepared for this.

4) The feeling of "eternal work". When you work from home, there is a feeling that your home is work. It can be stressful. In my case, it was not me who became psychotic, but my wife, who began to complain that the computer was buzzing at our house all the time. Solved the issue of transferring the workplace to the kitchen, plus the purchase of a quiet computer. But still, there are small fights from time to time, especially if you have to work at night.

5) Not for lively ones. Were on the team people who like to chat on various topics, "Joke in the smoking room", flirt with girls from other departments, and so on. They could not work remotely, just at some point their productivity dropped, some kind of depression appeared and people left.

6) Additional stabilizer. When communicating with colleagues, it became clear that many cannot work all the time, so someone is walking around New York using a google map, someone is playing at promotions, someone is watching game streams or TV shows. This does not interfere with productivity, but it relaxes.

As a conclusion

Remote work is good way get a good salary if you do not want to go to conquer Moscow or the valley. There are many disadvantages in it, most of all in emotional terms, but rather comfortable working conditions are obtained.
