4.4. Determination of softening point
The softening temperature is determined according to GOST 15088-83 at
test load (50±1) N with a temperature rise rate of 120°C/h. It is allowed to determine the softening temperature on an installation with an indicator in accordance with paragraphs. 4.4.1-4.4.4, while the softening temperature (Тр) is taken as the temperature at which the punch with a diameter of (1.13 ± 0.01) mm under the action of a constant load (9.81 ± 0.25) N is immersed to a certain depth into the sample when it is heated.
4.4.1. Equipment
Installation (Fig. 1).
ICH-10 type indicator with a division value of 0.01 mm in accordance with GOST 557-68.
Mercury thermometers with a division value of not more than 1 ° C according to NTD. Thermostat that maintains the temperature with an error of ± 3 ° С.
4.4.2. Sampling
For testing, samples are used in the form of disks with a diameter of (19.0 ± 0.5) mm, a thickness of 4-10 mm, equal to the thickness of the glass being tested.
If the thickness of the glass is more than 10 mm, then it is brought to a thickness of (10.0 ± 0.5) mm by machining on one side, while the test surface is not subjected to machining.
Samples with a thickness of less than 4 mm are folded into a bag with a thickness of 4-6 mm, achieving a snug fit to each other.
Tests are carried out on two samples (packages).
4.4.3. Preparing for the test
Before testing, the samples are kept on a silicate glass substrate in a thermostat for (20 ± 5) min at a temperature 15-20 ° C above the expected softening temperature. Samples are cooled in a thermostat to a temperature not exceeding 40°C.
Then the samples are placed in the nests of the installation and sealed with foil around the perimeter.
Installation for determining the softening point
4.4.4. Conducting a test
The sample is loaded. After (1.0 ± 0.1) min after the application of the load (9.81 ± 0.25) N, including the weight of the load, the rod with the platform, the punch and the indicator force, the deformation of the sample is measured by the indicator at a temperature of (23 ± 5) °C. Then the load is removed, heating is turned on and the temperature is raised at a rate of 2.0 °C/min to a temperature 10-20 °C below the expected softening temperature. The sample is kept at this temperature for (10.0 ± 0.2) min and the deformation of the sample is measured after (1.0 ± 0.1) min after the application of the load; then the load is removed.
Subsequent strain measurements are made every (5±1)°C at an average temperature rise rate of 1°C/min (60±5)°C/h [(60±5) deg/h] The test is terminated when the difference in strain at temperature environment and test temperature is not less than 1.2 mm.
Based on the test results, a graph of the dependence of the strain difference at ambient temperature and test temperature on these temperatures is plotted (Fig. 2).
On the site of a sharp rise in the curve, a tangent is drawn until it intersects with the x-axis. The point of intersection indicates the softening point. Curves for two samples of the same determination are plotted on the same graph.
The test result is taken as the arithmetic mean of the softening temperature of two samples, rounded to the nearest whole number, the allowable discrepancy between which, with a confidence level of 0.95, should not exceed 2 °C.
4.4.5. In case of disagreement in assessing the softening point, the determination is carried out according to GOST 15088-83.
4.5. Impact strength is determined according to GOST 4647-80 on five samples of type 1 or 3 without notch, depending on the nominal glass thickness.
Tests are carried out at a temperature of (23±2)°C. Test specimens are kept at a temperature of (23±2)°C for at least 3 hours.
4.1-4.5. (Revised edition, Rev. No. 4).

3. ACCEPTANCE RULES
3 1 Organic glass is accepted in batches A batch of organic glass is taken as the number of sheets and blocks of the same brand, of the same nominal thickness, manufactured according to one technological polymerization mode, accompanied by one quality document
The quality document must contain
name and trademark of the manufacturer,
material name, brand,
batch number, nominal thickness,
net weight,
date of manufacture,
test results or confirmation of compliance of technical organic glass with the requirements of this standard
3 2 Check the appearance and dimensions of each sheet of the lot, check the thickness - 10% of the sheets of the lot
3 3 Indicators "softening point" and "impact strength" of glass of both brands are periodically checked by the manufacturer at least once a month for flat glass and at least once
many times every three months for blocks on the same sheet or block of each nominal thickness.
3.4. If unsatisfactory test results are obtained for at least one of the indicators, repeated tests should be carried out on it on a double number of sheets taken from the same batch of glass. The retest results apply to the entire lot.
Upon receipt of unsatisfactory results of periodic tests, tests are transferred to acceptance tests until positive results are obtained on two batches in a row.
3.3, 3.4. (Changed edition, Rev. No. 3, 4),
4. TEST METHODS
4.1. The test specimens are cut from a strip cut from one side of a sheet or block. It is allowed to cut samples from the corners of the sheet or block.
Appearance, thickness and physical-mechanical quality indicators of organic glass are determined at a distance of at least 30 mm from the edge of the sheet.
4.2. Indicators of the appearance of organic glass in accordance with the table. 3 is checked by inspection with the naked eye at a distance of 250-400 mm perpendicular to the surface of the sheet in natural light or fluorescent lighting.
Foreign inclusions are measured by any measuring tool that provides measurement with an error of not more than 0.1 mm.
Leaching impressions of silicate glass are determined by applying a stencil made from a sheet of thick paper or cardboard.
4.3. The length and width of organic glass sheets are measured by any measuring instrument that provides the necessary measurement accuracy with an error of no more than 1 mm.
The thickness is measured with a micrometer according to GOST 6507-78 or a dial indicator according to GOST 577-68, along the perimeter at four points (in the middle of each side) with an error of not more than 0.05 mm.
4.4. Determination of softening point
The softening temperature is determined according to GOST 15088-83 at
test load (50±1) N with a temperature rise rate of 120°C/h. It is allowed to determine the softening temperature on an installation with an indicator in accordance with paragraphs. 4.4.1-4.4.4, while the softening temperature (T p) is taken as the temperature at which the punch with a diameter of (1.13 ± 0.01) mm under the action of a constant load (9.81 ± 0.25) N is immersed in a certain depth into the sample when it is heated.
4.4.1. Equipment
Installation (Fig. 1).
ICH-10 type indicator with a division value of 0.01 mm in accordance with GOST 577-68.
If the glass thickness is more than 10 mm, then it is brought to a thickness of (10.04 = 0.5) mm by machining on one side, while the test surface is not subjected to machining.
Samples with a thickness of less than 4 mm are folded into a bag with a thickness of 4-6 mm, achieving a snug fit to each other.
Tests are carried out on two samples (packages).
4.4.3. Preparing for the test
Before testing, the samples are kept on a silicate glass substrate in a thermostat for (20=1=5) min at a temperature of 15-20°C above the expected softening temperature. Samples are cooled in a thermostat to a temperature not exceeding 40°C.
Then the samples are placed in the nests of the installation and sealed with foil around the perimeter.

II- guide sleeve, 12-rod, 13-punch, 14-
sample, 15-heater
Subsequent strain measurements are made every (5±: 1)°C at an average temperature rise rate of 1°C/min (60±5)°C/h [(60=b5) deg/h] The test is terminated when the strain difference at ambient and test temperatures is at least 1.2 mm.
4.4.5. In case of disagreement in the assessment of the softening point, the determination is carried out according to GOST 15088-83.
Diagram of deformation versus temperature
