(Russian folktale)

STORYTOR: Once upon a time there was a Goat and she had seven Goats. The goat built herself a hut in the forest and settled there with her goats. The goat often left the house to nibble grass in the forest clearing and bring milk to the goats. And when she left, she always told her children to lock the door in the hut and not let strangers in.

(Music. The curtain opens. The backdrop is a forest. There is a Goat's hut on the stage (you can draw a hut and fix it on something, or you can put a screen and attach a drawn hut to its walls).
While the music is playing, the door of the hut opens (you can just go out from behind the hut). A Goat and seven Goats come out of the hut.)

GOAT: My kids, I'll go to the forest clearing to pinch the grass and bring you milk!

(A Goat appears, sees that the door is open, there are no kids in the house and begins to lament.)

GOAT: Oh, you kids, my goats!

(Music. The goat leaves the stage. Two stage assistants appear - they bring a painted tree and close the hut with it, i.e. the goats remain behind the tree. While all the transformations are going on, music sounds.
The Wolf appears with a bag over his shoulders - as if he is walking through the forest. The goat is chasing the wolf.)

GOAT: Stop, useless! Give me back my goats!

WOLF: I didn't take them!

GOAT: What's in the bag?

WOLF: I got apples in the forest!

GOAT: Show me!

WOLF: I won't show you!

GOAT: Then I will stab you with horns, I will trample you with hooves!

WOLF: Okay, okay! Get your goats!

(The wolf throws the bag behind the tree. The goats appear from behind the tree. The wolf runs away.)

GOAT: My little goats!

GOATS: Mom, mom!
