Khabensky Konstantin Yurievich Charitable Foundation. Charitable Foundation Konstantin Khabensky: history of creation, reviews

YEREVAN, May 29. News-Armenia. It is very important to do charity work, because the more people help each other, the less unresolved issues will be, since, as a rule, issues arise from idleness, the People’s Artist of Russia, theater actor and Cinema Konstantin Khabensky.

“I think any normal person thinks about charity, there are no people who do not think. Another question is whether a person has the strength to take this step. Everyone comes to it differently. I don't blame those who got scared, those who tried and ran away. Everyone has their own understanding, but every person has the right to try during his lifetime, ”Khabensky said.

By personal example

In 2008, Khabensky founded a charitable foundation that helps children with cancer and other severe brain diseases. Today the fund is one of the ten largest fundraising funds in Russia.

After the creation of the fund, the actor, along with his wife, began to save lives and help the kids. In 2013, he turned to Gor Borisovich Naapetyan (Managing Director, Advisor to the President of the Troika Dialog investment company since 1998. Ed.) for help, and he helped Khabensky create a team of like-minded people.

“He said golden words to me: “I won’t give you a fish, but I’ll give you a fishing rod, and you yourself will learn how to fish,” the actor recalls.

Today, the fund employs 15 people. According to Khabensky, the foundation provides assistance to sick children not only from Russia, but also from Armenia, Belarus and other CIS countries.

“Any fund, if it wants to develop and not stand still, must set goals, so-called business plans, like any corporation, in order to grow and raise the bar. Every year we set ourselves goals for next year and thus today we already have the opportunity to deal not only with targeted assistance,” he said.

In particular, the fund, in addition to targeted assistance to patients, helps to equip clinics necessary equipment, develops its own rehabilitation programs, improves the qualifications of doctors and changes the attitude of society towards the topic of oncology.

“We came up with winter and summer camps, our wards come on vacation and communicate with their peers. Gradually begin to return to life. We also came up with the “Know and not be afraid” direction so that parents pay attention to any little things related to their children, not be afraid to examine them, because the sooner the disease is detected, the easier it will be to cope with it,” he stressed. Khabensky.

The actor is sure that the task of the fund is to set people up to the fact that charity is “simple, necessary and must”.

“There are heroes on the screen who mastered outer space, and which you and I cannot reach. But you can become an earthly hero, do things here on Earth, helping someone. This is our time, the time in which we live, you just need to think and understand that heroism does not have to be on a battle scale. It may be personal heroism, which may not be noticed from the outside, but an inner sense of dignity will always be with you, ”Khabensky said.

Help through creativity

Konstantin Khabensky said that the fund attracts many famous people who visit sick children and participate in various charity events fund.

“Together with them, if they do it consciously, and many do it already consciously and feel like going back into the“ waters of charity ”, this story includes their viewers, fans, the media,” the actor said, adding that help can be different, and volunteers do not have to visit clinics in person, where there is a very difficult atmosphere. For example, according to him, you can help sick children develop creatively. Today, in 11 cities of Russia there are already children's creative development studios, whose wards play in performances, all the proceeds from which are directed to help suffering children.

“It is very important to talk about charity from the school bench, because what we see today is good and right, but in my opinion it is a belated approach. It is very important to explain to children from the school bench not only the theory, but also to show in practice what charity is, what assistance is, ”said Khabensky.

You gotta believe in what you do

The actor admitted that he and his wife made the decision to do charity work at the moment when his wife was diagnosed with cancer, and in order not to dwell on their own problems, it was decided to help others.

“She managed to help a few guys. Then .... she was gone. It was probably the most difficult, but at some point I realized that the price is worthless to us if we give up everything and live a different life, ”said Khabensky.

“I believe that what I am doing is right, it is necessary. It is very important when you see the result, you meet an indifferent look. Because empty, cold, disinterested eyes - very quickly plant your engine. Those eyes that we encounter give us a lot of energy in life, ”summed up Konstantin Khabensky. –0--

After the actor Konstantin Khabensky had a son in 2007, his wife Anastasia fell ill with cancer. He sold the house, gave all the fees for treatment, he got into debt. But a year later, in Los Angeles, she died. Since then, the actor lives in an ordinary apartment, and gives almost all his earnings to charity. So far, he has saved about 150 children from brain cancer.

The actor supports many community projects. Under his leadership, there is a charitable foundation that provides assistance to children with cancer. He does not do charity "to nowhere" and believes that it is necessary to help those who still have a chance.

It all started with a call from a hospital where people with leukemia are lying. According to old memory, the doctors kept Khabensky's phone. And they gave it to a woman who needed two hundred thousand rubles for an operation for her son. Simply because they are tired of looking at the suffering of their mother, who struggles in search of money. Hearing such a request, the actor immediately brought the money to the hospital, the child was put into surgery.

Since then, his phone has become a "rescue service" for those who treat their children for cancer. But, oddly enough, they ask not only for money. Sometimes Khabensky is required to have his connections with doctors. Konstantin receives calls from distant cities, where a child with such a complex illness cannot be provided with any help. Doctors say: “Go to Moscow!”, but it is difficult for people from a village or a small town to figure out where to go with their trouble. Therefore, Khabensky helped several unfortunate mothers - he arranged for the reception of their children from the capital's doctors. And he made sure everything went well.

Such an attitude towards someone else's grief, apparently, has always been generally accepted in the Khabensky family. After all, as it turned out later, his wife Anastasia, already being sick, helped save a girl suffering from multiple sclerosis.

The famous theater and film actor Konstantin Khabensky held a meeting in Astana, during which he shared his experience in the field of charity.

"Charity as a part of everyone's life" - this is the name given to the meeting of Konstantin Khabensky with public foundations of Kazakhstan involved in charitable activities. The meeting was organized by the promoter of corporate philanthropy in Kazakhstan, the Samruk-Kazyna Trust. During the meeting, People's Artist Russian Federation spoke about early stages creating such a project.

- It is difficult to create a team. I will not open America here, because people are different, with different professional and emotional levels. This is a transition to everyday charity. We have already learned to talk and talk about what we do. We have even learned to listen and perceive what other foundations are doing, but we have not yet learned to take it for granted and take it for granted. This is probably the most difficult thing, - says Konstantin.

Charitable Foundation Konstantin Khabensky was founded in 2008. Its activities are aimed at helping children with cancer and other severe brain diseases. He also helps in organizing the examination and treatment of children, creating rehabilitation programs, and providing medicines. In addition, doctors of Russian medical institutions are given the opportunity to improve their qualifications abroad.

The artist shared some ways to develop the fund and attract patrons.

- When it comes to mass fundraising (a variety of donations from individuals), the main thing is to keep it simple. The more convenient the tool, the more interesting and simpler the story about why and who needs it, the more money is collected. The main thing here is not to go too far with cries for help, - the actor shares.

Another of the methods used by the Konstantin Khabensky Foundation is attraction through events for clients and partners with the simultaneous transfer of donations. For example, today an exclusive pre-premiere screening of films with the participation of an actor is practiced for one organization or another.

— We agree with the distributors that we take a copy of the film, of course, under our own responsibility, and show this film to some organization a week before it is officially released. For this, the organization transfers huge donations to the Foundation. This is quite status for them, because they were the first to see something that no one else has seen. At the same time, there is an opportunity to hold a meeting with the actors, the director, during which they will be told for the first time what they wanted to say with this film, and so on. It works, it is interesting for both sides, - says Khabensky.

This is not the first time Samruk-Kazyna Trust has been holding such meetings, designed to help Kazakh NGOs to better navigate the use of modern fundraising tools and generally improve their professionalism. This year alone, the Foundation held two educational seminars for NGOs, and most importantly, organized a Corporate Charity Forum - the first in Kazakhstan.

Meanwhile, at the last meeting with Konstantin Khabensky, other topical issues were raised that one has to face in social work. One of them is cancerophobia, that is, the fear of cancer and people who have been diagnosed with this disease.

- Cancerophobia is a serious topic. I suppose that in different regions, not just countries, this story needs to be presented and dealt with in different ways. We think about it all the time, we try to fantasize, to offer the society certain programs to combat cancerophobia. It's very difficult. And I know what we are doing, how we work with the involvement of volunteers who are known, if not by the whole world, then by the whole country, who personally went through this story,” Khabensky noted.

Konstantin Khabensky - about why he started doing charity work

As a public figure, Konstantin Khabensky is known today no less than an actor. The charitable foundation he created in 2008 helps children with oncological and other severe brain diseases: it helps organize examinations and treatment, buys medicines and medical equipment for hospitals, improves the skills of doctors and information work with parents, initiates rehabilitation programs. On a direct line with the president, Khabensky asked if it was possible to make sure that relatives were allowed into the intensive care unit without hindrance, and also said that the order given a year ago to provide children with artificial lung ventilation devices at home had not been fulfilled.

- Konstantin, why did you decide to ask about resuscitation in a direct line with the president?

When I was offered to ask a question, I came to our headquarters (all funds interact with each other in one way or another) and said: “Guys, let's formulate one question that interests us all, and I will ask it.” For about a week, the directors conferred and proposed the question of the stay of relatives in intensive care. I got up and spoke. And I asked about the ventilator, because there was a report that everything had been done, and our internal intelligence on the ground reported that things were still there. It must have been unexpected. I understand that there are enough problems, but I'm used to working like this - if you promised something, especially for the whole country, then be kind enough to fulfill it. I don’t know if something has moved on this issue since then, but regarding resuscitation, yes, the process has begun. Now we must form General requirements and then they will be adapted locally.

Is the money that the Voice show on Channel One raises for charity a great help for funds?

Honor and praise to Channel One, which did all this. This is a great help to the foundations and an opportunity to do a good deed for the audience - I really hope that they not only get into a rage and vote for the project participants, but also understand where this money will go. Yes, this is an auxiliary large part of the budget. Another thing is that the foundation is moving to the rails of everyday charity. It is impossible to build a development strategy on projects such as Golos or single large infusions.

- Did you understand this from the moment the fund was founded?

- Of course not. For a while, I had one assistant. And there was no great desire to quickly cover the entire planet. The fundraising system was completely different. I've toured a lot and interacted with people in the business. I told them: “Guys, you are all wonderful people, wonderful. I'm not going to discourage you from buying yachts, that's great too, and if I were you I would do the same. But there are still other problems. Let's share. This will not be a serious problem for you, but it will help us a lot.” And they shared honestly. But I realized that this is all for the time being. You can't ask all the time. We need to build some kind of mechanism. Beautiful, interesting, effective mechanism. And I was lucky to assemble a team that proposed a plan for the work of the fund.

Many founders of foundations say that doing charity work is hard, but not doing it is no longer possible.

It's very hard. And I bow to my team, which does this every day. Hot, cold, rain, snow, bad mood - it doesn't matter. They come to work. I'm talking about it. But how much effort, knowledge and skills are required to accomplish all this, only they know.

You can't ask all the time. We need to build some kind of mechanism. Beautiful, interesting, effective

- How often does Alena Meshkova, director of your foundation, contact you?

Not so often. She calls on me when my presence is needed. For example, when I, as an actor with some abilities, have to present a product that the foundation offers to certain structures. I talk about the fund and offer specific things to banks, pharmaceuticals, electronic companies. Just recently, we presented and awarded valuable gifts to especially active participants in a new fund initiative jointly with VTB24 called “Small Business with a Big Heart”. The program has just begun, and we have already raised a lot of money, and here my presence was simply necessary - to shake hands, say kind words and once again tell about what the fund does in general and what far-reaching plans we have.

- And how did the charity performance "Generation of Mowgli" come about?

The story was invented a few years ago at the festival, when I gave my studio team the task of submitting an application for the play. The students are students of the "Creative Development Studios" at the foundation, which began to open in 2010. The studios exist so that my colleagues from the provincial theaters and schools can engage in our basic acting disciplines with children, reveal the creative potential inherent in children, teach them to speak well and correctly, think independently, not be afraid of showing their emotions, not be afraid to make mistakes and correct their errors. And they released such people simply into life, without making actors out of them. And then, at one festival, the stars converged so that the Kipling application was completed, and we began to compose a modern performance based on Kipling's motives. Lesha Kortnev wrote the music and lyrics, our Moscow Art Theater artist Nikolai Simonov made the scenery, Nikolai Reutov staged a brilliant choreography that even adults can’t cope with, but children rejoice: the more difficult it is for them, the better.

- When will the performance arrive in Moscow?

On October 1 he will be in the Kremlin. This is the third visit to Moscow. About 120 children on stage and five adult artists.Funds from ticket sales- and the guys play for thousands, with the exception of the Kremlin, where there are five and a half thousand, - they go to the aid of their peers who are in the hospital. At the end of the performance, photographs of one or more children whom we are helping at the moment appear on the screen. Children understand why they go on stage - not just to blow off steam, dance and satisfy their own ambitions or the ambitions of their parents. They understand that if they do something insincerely, picking their nose or not fully giving their energy from the stage to the auditorium, then someone's life depends on it. They understand at the level of blood circulation what charity is. They collect a thousand people, play a performance and at the end say thank you to the audience for coming. Until recently, this army - Kazan, Ufa, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk - amounted to almost 500 people, and last week it was replenished with another hundred guys - the end of June was the premiere for the Generation of Mowgli in Chelyabinsk.

Children understand why they go on stage - not just to blow off steam

- Do you collect money with the help of your performances and films?

Yes, the first screening of the musical and dramatic play Don't Leave Your Planet, which we did together with Yuri Bashmet and his Moscow Soloists, which had just been released at Sovremennik, was a charity show. It was bought out, and the money went to two funds - including ours. We agreed on autumn charity screenings of the film "Collector", a participant of "Kinotavr-2016". Pre-premiere private show with a small creative evening - it also brings money. But there are other charity screenings - for example, we recently gathered children from hospitals and orphanages and showed them the cartoon Savva. Warrior heart. For a short time they pulled them out of the annoying four walls, this is also important.

Now the Konstantin Khabensky Charitable Foundation is raising funds for the purchase of an electroencephalograph. It allows doctors to track what areas of the brain are affected, what functions are damaged in children after neuro-oncological operations. A smart car is expensive - 6,476,344 rubles. On your own The fund raised a million. Readers of the portal "Such things" have already collected more than three million. There are more than two left, and then children with neurooncological diseases will have a chance to return to a normal life.

Everyone knows that Konstantin Khabensky does not like the attention of the press outside the stage and on the set. Even the recent anniversary (in January 2012, Konstantin turned 40) and the award of the title of People's Artist of the Russian Federation did not change his principles. The actor profitably invests his enviable popularity in charity, joining the circle of philanthropic artists: Chulpan Khamatova, Dina Korzun, Maria Mironova and Yevgeny Mironov, Ksenia Rappoport, Goshe Kutsenko, Mikhail Porechenkov, Yegor Beroev, Ksenia Alferova and others. Khabensky is ready to talk about the activities of his charitable foundation.

Although the Konstantin Khabensky charitable foundation for helping children with cancer and other brain diseases has been operating since 2008, he has not participated in public events until this year. But the accumulated experience and a firm decision to expand the activities of the fund required the attraction of serious funds and the involvement of a larger number of socially responsible people in the charitable movement.

The first public action of the Khabensky Foundation took place on the last day of Maslenitsa celebrations in Gorky Park. Konstantin Yuryevich invited his friends with children and all park visitors to go ice skating to the skating rink. Many responded, and, of course, colleagues with experience in charitable work - Chulpan Khamatova, Alexei Kravchenko, Ingeborga Dapkunaite ... And the world champion Irina Slutskaya with pleasure held a master class for Konstantin Khabensky and everyone. And although the famous "student" did not feel as confident on skates as his namesake Kostya - a character from "Pokrovsky Gates", but the main thing is to start! What won't you do for a noble cause! Everyone was cheerful and sincere. This day will be remembered by the participants of the action for a long time!
As a result, more than 600 thousand rubles - fees from tickets sold on the weekend to the skating rink - were transferred to help the children of the Khabensky Foundation, who are in need of such support.

exclusive. Why did you decide to go public about the foundation right now?

Konstantin Khabensky Up to this point, we did not dare to go on a “big voyage” - we limited ourselves to private donations from individual people, including mine, my colleagues and our businessmen who knew each other, who helped specifically, specific children. We felt at the beginning that we should not be scattered and take on more than we can do. As a result, we are not ashamed to report on the work done. Over four years, more than 16 million rubles were attracted (of which 58 percent - from corporate patrons, and the rest - from private donors). This made it possible to pay for the treatment of 79 children, many of them full course: from diagnosis to rehabilitation in our country, as well as in Germany and England. I think we need to use every chance in the treatment, fortunately, miracles happen.
Foundation motto: "One saved life is one saved life. And now, when we have accumulated experience, there is a desire and an opportunity to strengthen our work. The idea of creating a fund arose five years ago, when his wife Nastya fell ill. We decided not to focus on our trouble, but to help children who are faced with a similar problem. Unlike us, for example, in America, the charitable movement is quite developed, in addition, people who have been diagnosed with the same diagnosis communicate with each other, arrange conferences, learn something new in diagnostics, treatment methods, support each other. Having created the fund, I did not consider it possible to leave this activity. Although from emotional burnout none of us are immune.
Why do we want to develop? Of course, first of all, in order to be able to help more children, and for this we need to attract more funds. And in general, to draw people's attention to charity, to involve them in a common cause. We will try to make people do charity work not with sad eyes, but with a smile and joy. We will hold interesting, beautiful, memorable events, establish live contact with real and potential donors and, of course, with children.
Since we are addressing a wide audience, then, of course, now we will also have to report publicly, so that people clearly understand what each ruble they donate is spent on.

exclusive. It is known that due to the dishonesty of some funds and simply scammers, the attitude in our society towards the charitable movement is somewhat discredited. What can you say to your potential opponents, who, in particular, may assume that this is done for personal PR?

K.Kh. As for PR, it would be easier to go to some kind of show, and not to do a rather difficult job from a psychological point of view with sick children. Practice shows, and my actor friends who have been doing charity work for more than one year confirm that some people who have tried to do this at least once either step aside right away or stay for a long time. I found it necessary for myself to continue the work I had begun.
In addition, nothing can be stolen from our fund. This is excluded, because the parents of sick children do not receive money in their hands, but they are transferred directly to the account of a medical institution.

exclusive. What is included in the field of activity of your foundation?

K.Kh. First of all, payment for expensive operations, medicines, postoperative rehabilitation, including psychological rehabilitation after a many-month course in medical institution. What is its essence? We have noticed that after parents and children have spent a long time in hospital wards, they need to feed on positive emotions, change the environment, the climate, and perhaps even the country. This is very important point for recovery. Our Happiness Therapy program has shown miraculous efficacy. We buy air tickets, pay for a hotel, excursions, meals and send families on vacation to Europe. Six families completed this program at sea in Spain, after which there were significant improvements in the children's well-being. And two of the kids got better! We will definitely develop this direction, because it works great! Of course, we are talking about low-income families, most of which, not only abroad, but beyond their own town or village, did not go anywhere. Can you imagine the emotional stimulus they get from the trip?
In addition, after returning home, children and their parents need moral support. Because it is no secret that at the everyday level our society still reacts very ambiguously to children with cancer - they may have problems at school, kindergarten, with those around. We need an elementary warm word of support, human participation. And educational work. Trouble can happen to anyone. And you never know in advance how the child's medical history will end. We fight for each of our wards to the end. Therefore, we will make extensive use of information and educational work aimed at early diagnosis of brain diseases in children - then the chances of recovery will increase significantly. It's no secret that with this issue in our society a big problem and, unfortunately, mostly kids come to us in the late third and fourth stages ...

exclusive. And what surprises you personally the most in your little patients?

K.Kh. First of all, their fearlessness is striking. Sick children who do not yet have life experience, as a rule, do not think about the worst, quickly forget the pain when you communicate with them, do not lose their sense of humor. And the strength of the spirit of the parents of our children, mostly mothers, is also amazing - they are fantastically fighting for the life of the child, using the slightest chance for recovery. This is amazing!

exclusive. What problems do you face in the work of the fund? For example, Chulpan Khamatova spoke about the imperfection of our legislation in the field of charity, the lack of many effective medicines in the country. Will you somehow use your authority in dealing with the authorities to resolve such issues?

K.Kh. The Foundation was created not to replace the state, but to attract as much as possible with its own example. more people to solve existing problems in this area. Of course, the solution of the problems that Chulpan is talking about depends on the state. But if we, the society, remind the power structures about them more often, then together we will achieve more.

exclusive. Konstantin, how are you really going to combine a rich creative life with work in the foundation?

K.Kh. If for four years we worked practically together with executive director fund by Evgenia Afanasyeva, today I have a whole team of professionals. Foundation website created. There is a lot of work to be done. In addition, after finishing work in the big television film "Pyotr Leshchenko", where I had to learn vocals and perform 16 musical numbers from the repertoire of a famous pop singer in the past, I took a break from the cinema. At the Moscow Art Theater, he also reduced his work so far to one "Threepenny Opera". Oleg Tabakov understood me and gave me a break for a year. Sometimes I perform with Yuri Bashmet and his Moscow Soloists as a reader. And most importantly, I spend more time with my son Vanya, who really needs my attention. This situation is somewhat unusual for me, but, apparently, it's time to stop, think, reboot, understand in which direction to move on. I have been going to try my hand at directing for several years, but due to the terrible workload, I have not yet succeeded. So today there is more time, including for the fund.

exclusive. And what is the fate of the creative studios for children organized by you? Will you continue them?

K.Kh. We are promoting a regional program: in Kazan, St. Petersburg, Saratov, Yekaterinburg and other cities of the country. The first creative studios were opened there, where children will not be taught to comprehend acting heights, they will not even prepare them for theater universities. It is much more important to simply teach them to think, fantasize, correctly formulate their thoughts, control their body, take a fresh look at the world that surrounds them. All this will help the guys in life.
All our creative studios are based on the basis of general education schools. My friends Mikhail Porechenkov, Sergey Garmash, Leonid Yarmolnik and colleagues from local theaters agreed to help in the work of the studios.
I like to work with children. The main thing is not to spoil them with "acting". But if I had gone to such a studio as a child, I would not have been a bully and skipped classes. To educate not actors, but above all good, decent people with the help of acting techniques is a new thing, but, as the first experiments of creative studios show, it is pedagogically justified and its results are encouraging.

Elena Kokhanovskaya, PR Director of MTS, a longtime partner of the Konstantin Khabensky Charitable Foundation, on his experience of cooperation with the foundation and his vision of the role of large corporations in charitable activities: “Corporate social responsibility has already become an obligatory component of the work of self-respecting companies that are focused on a long-term presence in the market. At the same time, we want to be sure that the funds that we allocate to charity fall into reliable hands and will be spent exactly for the purposes for which we allocate them. In this sense, the Konstantin Khabensky Charitable Foundation meets all our security criteria. We are very pleased with the partnership and look forward to developing new tools to support the fund.” One of these tools will be a new service for MTS subscribers: the ability to transfer funds using the USSD request *115*700# directly to the account of the Konstantin Khabensky Charitable Foundation. This service was chosen as the most fraud-protected channel for transferring funds from cellular network users.
