Working under the Beeline trademark mobile operator VimpelCom signed an agreement to acquire 49% of the shares of its “granddaughter” - the Corbina Telecom group of companies. The deal amounted to $ 404 million, the seller of the shares was the entrepreneur's offshore Inure Enterprises Alexandra Mamuta... The shares of Cortek were legally acquired, which together with its subsidiaries Investelectrosvyaz and Kabelstroy provides services under the Corbina brand. Considering that Vimpelcom's subsidiary Golden Telecom already owns 51% of Corbina's shares, Vimpelcom has acquired full control over the company.

Corbina Telecom was founded in 1995 as a universal telecommunications operator providing wireline and mobile telephony services, as well as Internet access. In 2005, the company staked on the construction of home Internet access networks using Ethernet technology. At the end of last year, Corbina served 240 thousand subscribers in Moscow broadband, ranking second after Comstar-Direct (Stream). The company also operates in a number of regions. Last year, the group's revenue was $ 140 million.

At the end of 2005, the company was acquired by Alexander Mamut, while his minority partner was Victor Vekselberg... A year later, "Corbina" - 51% of the shares were acquired by the fixed-line operator Golden Telecom (GT), for which Mamut received $ 40 million and 8% of GT shares. At the same time, it was assumed that Corbina would retain its operational independence from GT and in 2008 would hold an IPO. However, at the end of 2007, VimpelCom had 100% of GT shares (Mamut earned $ 330 million from the sale of his stake). Immediately after that, the head of VimpelCom Alexander Izosimov on increasing the stake in Corbin up to 100%. GT announced the start of relevant negotiations, however, as a result, 49% were acquired by VimpelCom itself (before the implementation of this transaction, Mamut bought out Vekselberg's share).

“The acquisition of a minority stake in Corbina Telecom is a logical and consistent step in implementing our strategy of building a Russian integrated operator,” said Alexander Izosimov, CEO of VimpelCom. “Combining infrastructures, technologies, customer base and expertise of Vimpelcom, Golden Telecom and Corbina will allow us to create a solid basis for successful competition in the fast-growing market of broadband Internet in Russia.”

The next few months Corbina reminded of herself with sms, which said that they needed to return the prefix to them, the first couple of SMS went to ignore, of course there was no desire to communicate with them. it seems that after the third SMS I called them, said that they could come and pick up the set-top box. I was advised again to take it myself, maybe it’s faster, but they said that I could wait for the courier, but wait 2 weeks. I said that without I'll wait for problems, but then it turned out that the rent for the set-top box would also grow with the expectation. Naturally, I said that I would not pay anything (if only because during all the malfunctions I had never been reimbursed for anything), and asked to switch to a senior employee to discuss this financial issue. it was even more interesting there, they told me that, because the attachment is faulty, the courier will not go to us, you need to carry it yourself. Not only do I have no desire to go to them, but also the possibility of 8 months of pregnancy and a small child at home, husband, of course business, at work. but the girl on the phone was not at a loss, invited her husband to take a day off))) I said that if we cannot find a solution, the console will go to the trash can, the girl said that she could not help me ...

It is very often impossible to connect to the Internet, it gives an error, sometimes I have to restart my computer repeatedly to connect. The speed is often much lower than stated in the contract. it can also be difficult to get through to them - I waited several times for 30 minutes to connect with the operator. what else is good I like about this company is their "trust payment" service. If the account ran out of money and there is no way to pay in the coming days, then this service can be used on the Internet for up to 7 days. the service is absolutely free! but if you do not pay according to the tariff within a week, you will have to pay 2 times more money. For some reason, in the settings, the Internet often jumps to a more expensive one, and this is not immediately detected. I don’t want to think that money is being stolen from us.
