History of the Yaroslavl shipbuilding plant

In 1919, the construction of boats began on the basis of the former lamp workshop. In 1920, a motor-shipbuilding yard began to operate, the first boat was launched into the water. 1920 is considered the year of foundation of the Yaroslavl shipbuilding plant.

In the prewar years, the plant produced river and sea diving, raid, mail, fire boats, as well as gliders.

During the Great Patriotic War, the plant supplied boats equipped with Katyusha rocket launchers to the front. These boats participated in the battles as part of the Dnepropetrovsk, Volga and Danube flotillas. In 1985, the plant was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, I degree, for its contribution to the victory.

Since the mid-50s, the plant, in addition to the construction of ships and boats, according to the orders of Russian shipowners, has been supplying boats for export,

to Guinea, India, Somalia, Ghana, Vietnam, Algeria and Yemen.

In the late 1950s and early 1960s, a large-scale reconstruction of the plant took place. It then produced about 12-14 vessels annually - from sea vessels to small boats (fishing, patrol, etc.) with a displacement of up to one and a half thousand tons.

In 1963 -1965. the plant supplied torpedo boats to the German Democratic Republic, the Arab Republic of Egypt, Yugoslavia, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Cuba.

In addition, a series of river pusher tugs were supplied to the ARE for the construction of the Aswan hydroelectric dam.

In the 80s, sea tugs were built for Poland and Bulgaria.

Between 1989 and 1991, YaSZ built and delivered five small anti-submarine ships to India and Cuba.

In 1990-1991 the factory built two large missile boats for export to Romania.

In 1993 the enterprise was transformed into an open joint stock company.

In 1997, the Yaroslavl Shipbuilding Plant was approved as the base enterprise for the construction of ships of the Federal Border Service of Russia. Its customers are also the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the Federal Customs Service, and foreign companies.

In 2004, two Project 12260 Hawk patrol boats were delivered to Angola.

Since 2001, the plant has been building buildings with partial saturation for foreign customers.

Thus, from 2001 to 2005, 12 hulls of tugs and customs boats built under the supervision of LRS and BV, as well as the hull of a 32-meter yacht built under the supervision of RINA, were handed over to customers from Sweden and the Netherlands.

For a long time, the plant was the only Russian builder of sea rescue tugs with a capacity of 3000 hp. With.

Of the civilian products, most of the ships produced by the plant were medium-sized freezing trawlers with various fishing methods, fishing and freezing equipment for trawl and longline fishing, as well as for catching crabs and transporting them alive, for the production of canned cod liver and frozen after cooking crab claws, for processing fish with subsequent freezing in blocks, preparing minced meat or fillets.

In 2005, the shipyard came under the control of CJSC VP Finsudprom, which managed to finance the completion of ships for commercial clients and the state, promptly resolve the shortage of working capital, and also attract new customers in Russia and abroad. By 2010, the volume of production increased by almost 2.5 times.

In recent years, YaSZ has mastered the construction of a new type of modern exclusive river motor catamaran yachts. The first such vessel was launched in 2008. It was called "Joy". In 2010, the modernized and improved yacht "Bylina" left the stocks of the Yaroslavl shipyard, and in 2012 the third yacht in this series, "Zabava".

At present, the Yaroslavl Shipyard is a modern, stable enterprise that produces competitive products according to the latest designs, within the generally accepted terms and with a quality corresponding to the best European analogues.

An excerpt characterizing the Yaroslavl shipyard

Bitter resentment bubbled in me, trying to splash out. I almost screamed, trying to reach his soul, but I felt that I was losing. There was no way back. I didn't know if I would ever get there again, and I had to use every opportunity before leaving.
“Look, Sever! All over Europe your brothers and sisters are burning like living torches! Can you really sleep soundly hearing their cries??? And how can you not have bloody nightmares?!
His calm face was twisted into a grimace of pain.
“Don’t say that, Isidora! I already explained to you - we should not interfere, we are not given such a right ... We are the guardians. We only protect KNOWLEDGE.
- Don't you think that if you wait some more, there will be no one to save your knowledge for? I exclaimed sadly.
“The earth is not ready, Isidora. I already told you this...
– Well, perhaps it will never be ready... And someday, in some thousand years, when you look at it from your “tops”, you will see only an empty field, perhaps even overgrown with beautiful flowers, because that there will no longer be people on Earth at that time, and there will be no one to pluck these flowers ... Think, Sever, is this the future you wished for the Earth?! ..
But the North was protected by a blank wall of faith in what he said ... Apparently, they all ironically believed that they were right. Or someone once instilled this faith in their souls so firmly that they carried it through the centuries, not opening up and not allowing anyone into their hearts ... And I could not break through it, no matter how hard I tried.
“We are few, Isidora. And if we intervene, it is possible that we will also die ... And then it will be easier than ever for a weak person, not to mention one like Caraffa, to use everything that we store. And someone will have power over all living things in their hands. This has happened before... A very long time ago. The world almost died then. Therefore, forgive me, but we will not interfere, Isidora, we do not have the right to do so... Our Great Ancestors bequeathed us to protect the ancient KNOWLEDGE. And that's what we're here for. What do we live for? We didn't even save Christ once... Although we could. But we all loved him very much.
– You want to say that some of you knew Christ?!.. But it was so long ago!.. Even you cannot live that long!
- Why - for a long time, Isidora? - Sever was sincerely surprised. “That was only a few hundred years ago!” And we live much longer, you know. How could you live if you wanted to...
– A few hundred?! North nodded. - But what about the legend?! .. After all, one and a half thousand years have passed since his death?! ..
- That's why she is a "legend" ... - Sever shrugged his shoulders, - After all, if she were the Truth, she would not need custom-made "fantasies" of Paul, Matthew, Peter and the like? .. With all that, that these “holy” people had never even seen the living Christ! And he never taught them. History repeats itself, Isidora... So it was, and so it will always be, until people finally begin to think for themselves. In the meantime, Dark minds think for them - only struggle will always rule on Earth...
The North fell silent, as if deciding whether to continue. But after a little thought, nevertheless, he spoke again ...
– “Thinking Dark Ones”, from time to time give humanity a new God, choosing him always from the best, brightest and purest, but precisely those who are definitely no longer in the Circle of the Living. Since, you see, it is much easier to “dress” the false “history of his Life” on the dead and let it into the world so that it would bring to humanity only what was “approved” by the “Thinking Dark Ones”, forcing people to plunge even deeper into the ignorance of the Mind swaddling their Souls more and more in fear of inevitable death, and putting the same shackles on their free and proud Life...
– Who are the Thinking Dark, Sever? - I could not stand it.
- This is the Dark Circle, which includes the "gray" Magi, "black" magicians, money geniuses (their own for each new period of time), and much more. Simply put, this is the Earthly (and not only) association of "dark" forces.

The public joint-stock company "Yaroslavl Shipbuilding Plant", founded in the 1920s, is a modern production facility for the production of watercraft of various classes: from border boats to luxury yachts. The main partners of the company are state power structures.

Birth

In the 20s of the XX century, when the turmoil of the revolutionary period subsided, the new government thought about the industrialization of the country. One of the important directions was the revival of the shipbuilding industry.

In those years, the full-flowing Volga was the most important transport route that crossed the central regions of the country from north to south. Given the strategic importance of the river route, it was decided to establish the Yaroslavl shipyard. At first, only small maneuverable ships for various purposes were produced on its stocks: fire, postal, courier, patrol, passenger and others. Like all enterprises born in the first post-revolutionary years, YaSZ gradually expanded its capabilities to increase the output of shipbuilding products and the size of orders under construction.

War

With the beginning of the Second World War, most of the men were mobilized, and the Yaroslavl Shipbuilding Plant (YaSZ) faced a personnel shortage. The lack of specialists at such a technologically complex enterprise has led to a decrease in the pace and quality of production, the design of new models. The material and technical supply deteriorated sharply, there were not enough spare parts, assemblies, assemblies, materials (especially metal).

However, the administration managed to normalize the situation and resume production. Combat boats began to be produced on the stocks of the plant, on which multiple launch rocket systems like Katyushas were installed. In total, more than 120 ships were manufactured, many of which participated in the Battle of Stalingrad, making a significant contribution to the defeat of the fascist group.

On guard of the world

After the war, the Yaroslavl shipbuilding plant was waiting for a radical modernization, thanks to which the enterprise was able to assemble not only small displacement watercraft, but also ships for sea navigation. Starting from the 1960s, YaSZ annually produced 10-14 ships with a displacement of up to 1500 tons.

In the 80s, another reconstruction of the Yaroslavl shipbuilding plant began. The production facilities have been significantly expanded. It was assumed that the volume of work will double. However, the beginning of perestroika confused plans. Vessels “froze” on the slipways, which could not be completed due to the termination of funding. The consequences of those years are still being felt by the company.

New era

In the early 1990s, the enterprise was transformed into OJSC Yaroslavl Shipbuilding Plant. The administration took (and is taking) measures to sharply revive the production process. This is facilitated by the increase in funding for the state defense order, and the turn to commercial shipbuilding, and work with foreign customers. Now on the slipways of the YaSZ there are border guards, customs ships, fish protection ships, tugboats, seiners and other watercraft.

Technological base

Yaroslavl Shipbuilding Plant (TIN 7601001080) until recently was a full-profile production. A full cycle of shipbuilding operations was carried out here: from the procurement of metal structures to testing activities. But today's realities require flexible business options with a more economical approach to production costs. It can be cheaper to buy something on the side or attract a counterparty who will perform certain work. Part of the production capacity had to be disposed of, expanding the possibilities of industry cooperation, which is typical of most foreign shipbuilding enterprises, which are shipyards, not factories.

However, the main specialized capacities have been preserved in the following workshops:

  • procurement;
  • pipe;
  • case;
  • welding and assembly;
  • mechanical;
  • slipway-finishing.

The plant is equipped with CNC plasma cutting machines for producing steel billets of complex shapes up to 8 m.

Production capacity

The team of Yaroslavl Shipbuilding Plant PJSC has 40 years of experience in working with magnesium-aluminum alloys both in the form of hull structures (bulkheads, deck sections, superstructures) and in the form of light-alloy hulls, stainless steels, titanium, bimetals. The capacities allow processing up to 550 tons of aluminum and over 4100 tons of steel annually.

YaSZ has crane equipment and a machine park for the manufacture of structures weighing up to 50 tons and parts such as propeller shafts up to 12 m long. wide buildings (up to 16 m) an open slipway is intended.

The longitudinal launcher allows you to lower structures up to 75 m long and weighing over 1000 tons into the water. Most of the tasks of various services (from production preparation to accounting) are solved using software and an extensive computer park connected to a general and local networks.

"Hawk"

The Yaroslavl shipbuilding plant in 1997 became the base for the assembly of border ships. This was facilitated by the commander of the border troops A. Nikolaev. To a large extent, this is due to the fact that in those difficult times, the factory workers were able to master the high-speed innovative patrol boat of the 12260 series. After its presentation to representatives of law enforcement and other ministries, the plant received the status of a basic enterprise.

The boat of the Almaz TsMKB project, which received the proud name of the Hawk, was originally conceived as an export one. All of its components were foreign-made, which, according to the plan, should make it more attractive to a foreign customer due to the presence of a wide service infrastructure of companies supplying these components.

With compact dimensions (displacement of about 10 tons, length slightly less than 13 m), this boat is unpretentious, has enviable seaworthiness, high-speed (over 40 knots) and maneuverable. The lead ship of this project was built by the plant at its own expense in just five months, and for many years now it has been operated by the Yaroslavl Fish Inspectorate. Several service boats of this project have been exported. Interested in the ship and the FSB of Russia. Foreign analogues of the project 12260 are quite numerous. In terms of its running and operational characteristics, the Yaroslavl "watchdog" looks quite worthy among them.

Certification

The construction of ships at YaSZ is carried out under the supervision of both the Russian Maritime and River Registers. Welding production is certified by the Maritime Register of Shipping, the factory mechanical and flaw detection laboratories are accredited by the Maritime Register. In addition, the plant is certified for compliance with international requirements ISO 9001.

When working with foreign customers, production is certified for a specific classification society (CS), for which the project placed at the enterprise has been developed. The factory workers built orders under the supervision of the English Lloyd's Register (Lloyds Register), Bureau Veritas, yachts are being built according to the Italian RINA register. The experience of Yaroslavl specialists helps to cope with such tasks.

Of course, all this would have been impossible without improving the culture of production, acquiring modern equipment, mastering new approaches to traditional technologies. All costs are paid off by the fact that the plant becomes more attractive for the most demanding customers. When developing new projects, after design and technological and workshop preparation, technological and standardization cards are formed, all operations are being worked out, equipment is being manufactured, and the like. In difficult cases, the enterprise seeks help from industry scientific organizations, such as TsNIITS, Research Institute "Prometheus" and others.

Company headings

In 2019 PJSC "Yaroslavl Shipbuilding Plant" celebrates its centenary. Over the years, the enterprise has grown from a small lamp workshop into a large-scale production of ships with an unlimited navigation area. YaSZ produces boats of various classes: from small maneuverable yachts to patrol boats and river tankers.

First five-year plans

Yaroslavsky was created in the first revolutionary years at the facilities of a workshop that produced lamps. Convenient location on the banks of the Volga, the availability of qualified personnel, attention from the authorities contributed to the development of large-scale production. In 1920 Yaroslavskaya built the first boat. In the pre-war years, the main products of YaSZ were gliders, sea and river raiders, fire, mail, diving boats.

During the Second World War, Yaroslavl shipbuilders assembled unique ships equipped with Katyusha-class salvo launchers. They participated in the largest battle in the history of mankind - the Battle of Stalingrad. They helped to liberate Ukraine, Belarus, Western countries as part of the Danube and Dnieper flotillas.

Post-war development

Since the end of the 1940s, a systematic reconstruction of the enterprise began with its transfer to the construction of sea vessels with an unlimited navigation area. In the mid-60s, the Yaroslavl Shipbuilding Plant switched to the production of new ship designs, and until the beginning of the 90s it delivered 12-14 orders annually.

In the 1980s, another reconstruction of production facilities began, after which the volume of production of ships should have almost doubled. But during the period of perestroika, financing almost stopped, orders froze on stocks, and the output of finished products fell. Now the company is completing the bulk of the orders placed at that time.

Characteristic

YaSZ is one of the oldest enterprises in the industry. Today it has the most modern equipment and highly qualified personnel to fulfill the orders of the power structures of the Navy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Security Service of Russia and other consumers, including foreign ones. New projects, which are the pride of Russian shipbuilding, are traditionally mastered here. Contacts of the Yaroslavl shipbuilding plant: 150006, Russian Federation, Yaroslavl, st. Ship-1.

Technological base

Until the beginning of the 90s, YaSZ was a full-profile shipbuilding plant, that is, it performed the entire range of shipbuilding works: from the preparation of sheet and profile rolled products to the testing of finished orders. If we compare photos of the Yaroslavl shipyard in different years, it is easy to see that the production area has decreased.

Today, a flexible scheme is used, taking into account economic feasibility. To perform certain work, contractors are involved, part of the equipment is purchased from third-party companies. Part of the capacity had to be disposed of, while expanding industry cooperation. However, the main production remained. These are the workshops:

  • pipe;
  • assembly and welding;
  • slipway outfitting;
  • mechanical;
  • preparatory section of hull production.

Production capacity

The Yaroslavl Shipbuilding Plant is equipped with a 190 m long slipway with two sites for building hulls up to 12 m wide. weighing 1050 tons.

CNC gas-cutting plasma machines are installed at the plant, capable of cutting parts of complex shapes (up to 8 m long) from high-strength steels. The capacities allow processing 4000 tons of steel and 500 tons of aluminum per year.

On guard of the motherland

Traditionally, the main customers of the Yaroslavl Shipyard are law enforcement agencies, the Navy, the naval units of the border troops, the Federal Security Service of Russia, the Federal Customs Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. In 1997, the Yaroslavl shipyard was chosen for the construction of border ships. The management was able to convince Andrey Nikolaev, Commander of the Border Troops, that the company was capable of building ultra-modern ships. In fact, this saved production during the crisis of the 1990s. Among them are boats:

  • Rocket project 1241RE;
  • amphibious projects "Chilim" (20910), "Bars" (14660);
  • landing 21820;
  • IPC 1241-2;
  • PSKR projects 1241PE, "Svetlyak" (10410).

Border boat 12260

In a short time, the YaSZ mastered the new project 12260 for patrolling. It was developed by the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau. The boat, with its small size, is easy to operate, has excellent seaworthiness, enviable maneuverability, and high speed.

Specifications:

  • displacement - 9.7 tons;
  • width - 3 m;
  • overall length - 12.9 m;
  • power reserve - 200-300 km;
  • speed over 40 knots.

Products

In addition to law enforcement agencies, YaSZ produces civilian products for the Federal Agency for Fishery, the Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport, and foreign customers. On the slipways they collect:

  • border "watchdogs" of the project 12260 "Hawk";
  • customs, high-speed patrol vessels;
  • fish protection ships;
  • river, sea, rescue tugs;
  • seiners-trawlers;
  • tankers for oil products, bunkering tankers;
  • catamaran yachts of the Bylina, Joy, Fun series;
  • motor boats;
  • rescue, diving, drilling and other vessels.

The management is taking steps to revive production.
