Compound

Soap of this type may contain in its composition no more than 72% and no less than 70.5% fatty acids (category 1), from 69% to 70% (category 2) or from 64% to 65% (category 3). i category). However, now you can often find samples of this product without such marking.

Another feature of this product is the relatively high alkali content, which can range from 0.15% to 0.2%. This provides a high value of the hydrogen index (acidity) pH, the value of which is 11-12 units. In addition, the product contains animal or vegetable fats, kaolin (white clay), sodium and water.

The feedstock from which the product is made can be animal fats or various types of vegetable oil (, sunflower, soybean,). Palm oil is allowed. In addition, caustic soda (caustic soda) is involved in the production of soap.

Soap baths are used to get rid of calluses, corns and cracks on the legs, as well as fungal diseases of the nails.

This product is used in combination with therapeutic agents and for the treatment of diseases such as thrush and prickly heat. As a prophylaxis against infection, a soapy solution is applied to the inner surface of the nostrils. A significant positive effect is also observed after treating the bites of blood-sucking insects with soapy water.

Important! For medicinal purposes, it is recommended to use the usual yellow-brown bars marked 72%, since others may not comply with GOST, contain various additives that reduce the therapeutic effect of soap, or even make it unsuitable for this purpose.

This type of soap is also used in cosmetology. So, a mask from it helps to get rid of acne and blackheads on the face. Sometimes it is recommended to periodically wash the hair and head with soapy water, which in some cases eliminates dandruff and improves the appearance of the hair (more on this will be discussed below).

In a soapy solution, personal items such as combs, toothbrushes, washcloths and manicure tools are disinfected. Use this product for cleaning rooms when there are increased requirements for cleanliness. And finally, laundry soap perfectly washes things and removes dirt from the body.

Benefit, harm, washing rules

In different situations, laundry soap can show not only its beneficial properties, which are mentioned above, but also bring certain harm. Consider the results of its action on specific examples.

Do they wash the head (hair)

There are different points of view on the use of this product for washing the head and hair. According to one of them, this soap, made exclusively from natural ingredients, has an antibacterial effect and excellent washing qualities, helps to keep hair in excellent condition, and also eliminates dandruff.

Opponents point out that the increased content of alkali in the product helps to remove the protective shell of the hair and dry it out. As a result, the hair becomes dull, lifeless, unkempt in appearance.

Estimates of women who have tried to use this soap vary - from admiring reviews to complete disappointment. Probably, such a range of opinions is due to the fact that the body of any person has its own characteristics. In addition, the results of the application may be affected by detergents, cosmetics and hair dye previously used.

Another explanation for the negative effect of use - hair and skin just need to get used to the transition to a new detergent and the transition period can take several weeks.

Important! As you can see, the use of laundry soap for washing hair and head leads to ambiguous results, so here you need to experiment at your own peril and risk, but it is better to consult a specialist. In any case, it is not recommended to use this remedy for people with dry hair and dry skin.

Face

The usefulness of using laundry soap for cleansing the face is argued by its composition of natural ingredients, bactericidal properties and the ability to clean the skin qualitatively. However, you should not use this product often, as in this case the skin becomes dry and less resistant to various infections, it may become irritated.

More often the product is used to make a cleansing mask. To do this, grate a small amount of soap, heat it with a water bath, beat, add a teaspoon of soda, mix everything thoroughly and apply the mixture on the face. The mask is kept for 30 minutes, after which it is washed off with warm water.

You can also apply a soap solution pointwise, on certain areas of the skin. This is usually done in the presence of acne - an inflammatory skin disease, accompanied by the appearance of blackheads and pimples.

Intimate parts

For intimate hygiene, this tool can be used. Its advantage is all the same antibacterial properties. It is recommended to use it for women with thrush, but it will not replace a full-fledged treatment, but only complement it.

It should be remembered that the frequent use of this remedy leads to a violation of the natural microflora of the mucous membranes, and also dries out the skin. Usually, laundry soap is used no more than twice a week, with thrush more often, but you should consult a doctor in this matter.

Legs

In addition to the usual removal of dirt from the feet, laundry soap is used for other purposes. So, with its help, they fight sweating of the legs. To do this, you can not be limited to simple washing, but use special foot baths.

They are prepared simply: rub the soap on a grater, add a small amount of warm water, mix everything thoroughly and apply the resulting mass to the skin of the foot. In this state, the legs can withstand fifteen minutes, then everything is washed off. The procedure is carried out twice a week.

Often, the legs are affected by a fungal infection (onychomycosis). For treatment, a soap solution is used, which is applied to the affected areas. This method, as a rule, does not get rid of the fungus on its own, but can be an effective addition to other drugs. It is important to consult your doctor before using it.

children

Washing children with laundry soap is not recommended, at least until they are three years old, because their skin is too delicate. In addition, such a product reduces only the emerging protective properties of the skin, which increases the risk of diseases. Ordinary soap is also not good for small children, the best option for them is baby soap.

Can you wash a dog

It is recommended to use this product for washing dogs only in the most extreme cases, if they are too dirty and other products do not fully help. If you wash your pet with such a product regularly, the protective properties of the skin and coat decrease, the appearance worsens, everything can end with hair loss and skin irritation.

A liquid product is prepared directly for washing, for which approximately 40 grams of the product is grated, mixed with 50 ml of hot water, stirred until completely dissolved in a water bath, then another half-liter of hot water is added.

Is it washable

Actually, the main purpose of this product is washing, so they can and should be washed. Hand washing is carried out either in a soapy solution (you can replace it with liquid laundry soap), or a bar of soap is used to rub the laundry items.

The solution is added directly to the drum of the machine. After such a wash, you need to clean the washing machine with appropriate products containing citric acid.

Application

Once upon a time, laundry soap was almost indispensable for washing and washing dishes, but then it was replaced by modern household chemicals. Nevertheless, this product is widely used, and not always for its intended purpose.

Did you know? In the USSR around the 40s of the last century, a legend spread that laundry soap was made from the corpses of stray cats and dogs. However, this legend has not been confirmed so far.

At home

Domestic use is not limited to laundry and dishwashing. Soapy water, for example, is sometimes washed with chicken eggs to prevent salmonellosis. The same solution is used to disinfect rooms, they wash floors, doors, kitchen equipment, etc. To preserve the arrows on trousers, rub the fabric along the arrows from the inside with dry soap, and then iron it from the outside.

The classic type is unwrapped bar soap with embossed markings of 65%, 70% and 72%. It can have various colors, from yellow to dark brown. A dark color means that such a sample was less purified from impurities during production. All options for using laundry soap for medical or medicinal purposes are possible only with such bars.

Storage rules

The shelf life of packaged soap is usually two years. It should be stored in a cool place, closed from direct sunlight, without high humidity, at a temperature not below zero. Products without packaging in the same conditions are usually stored for no more than a year, with an increase in the shelf life, they begin to dry and crack.

Homemade laundry soap recipe

This product can also be made at home. First you need to attend to the purchase of rubber household gloves, a respirator, an apron and goggles.

For production you will need a liter of vegetable oil (olive or sunflower), 150 g of caustic soda (caustic soda) and 380 ml of cold water, as well as a well-ventilated area. The container for the cooking process should be made of stainless steel, the spatula for stirring should be made of the same material. The whole process should take place under the included hood and with open windows, optimally somewhere in the country, in the fresh air.

The required amount of caustic soda and water is accurately measured on the scales, the soda is carefully poured into the water while stirring. In the process of stirring, the container begins to heat up, you need to continue stirring until the soda dissolves (a precipitate may remain).
Then the soda solution is carefully poured into the heated oil. The resulting mass is gently stirred, gradually it begins to thicken and brighten. To speed up the process, you can use a mixer (after this procedure, the mixer can no longer be used for anything else).

When the mass acquires a creamy consistency (using a mixer after about 40 minutes), it is poured into prepared containers. It can be, for example, cropped juice bags. The next day the soap is ready for use.

So, laundry soap, due to its properties, is quite widely used today, and its areas of application are very diverse, from washing to the treatment of certain diseases. There are no special contraindications to its use, and the price is very attractive, so this product will probably be on the market for a long time.

Laundry soap... So familiar and so forgotten! What do we know about him? Surely, every housewife has her own recipes for its use. In this article I will try to summarize, if not all, then at least part of the experience of using this soap in a home first aid kit, cosmetology and in everyday life.

What is laundry soap made of?

Real laundry soap consists only of natural ingredients. It contains animal or vegetable fats and oils, as well as alkali and water, no fragrances, flavors, etc. Therefore, this soap is an environmentally friendly natural product. Soap labeling depends on the amount of fat used in it. The higher the percentage, the better the soap. For example, if soap contains about 70.5% fat, then it is labeled as 72 percent. If there is less fat in percentage terms, it is respectively 70 or 65 percent.

Benefit and harm.

The composition of the soap is such that it does not cause allergies. The only thing is that it can dry the skin, because it contains alkali. If you experience discomfort while using this product, lubricate your hands with a moisturizer. It also doesn't smell very good. Here, perhaps, are all its shortcomings, which can hardly be called “harm”. And the main benefit is that it is a powerful antiseptic and can even be used for open wounds.

The use of laundry soap in folk medicine.

With the help of laundry soap, it is proposed to treat a wide range of diseases. These are sinusitis, hemorrhoids, thrush, papillomas, cataracts, various fungal diseases and diseases of the joints. And this is not the whole list of ailments. I won't stop there. because I think that with such serious problems it is necessary to go to the doctors and be treated with the necessary medicines. But if you definitely want to know about folk methods - write in the comments - I will definitely answer.

As mentioned above, soap has a high antiseptic effect, so I would like to elaborate on the following uses:

The use of laundry soap for cosmetic purposes.

If you are worried about dandruff or your hair is too oily, then laundry soap will also help you in this case. But you should not crawl through the hair with a whole piece. To wash your hair, you need to make a soapy solution, about 2 tablespoons of grated soap per liter of water, and wash your hair with it. After that, it is necessary to rinse the hair with a weak solution of vinegar (about 1.5 tablespoons per liter of water) to neutralize the alkali. present in soap. It is recommended to carry out this procedure about 3 times a week. And for preventive purposes - once every two weeks or more often.

To get rid of acne, you need to wash your face with laundry soap at least once a day. You can make a mask - a scrub from soap shavings and, at the rate of 2 parts of soap and 1 part of salt. Apply the mixture on the skin of the face, hold for 20-30 minutes, then remove with a damp cotton pad. Rinse your face with warm water. It is enough to use about 2 weeks every day.

Laundry soap is a traditional and economical way to solve the problem of cleanliness. It will be able to help you out in a variety of conditions - both at home and on a hike, in the country. Using this tool, you will not only save money, but also add health to your family and home.

Modern cleaning products are not completely washed off even with repeated rinsing and leave surfactants on the surface, which is not good for the body. Using laundry soap to wash dishes is the right solution for family health.

(From the experience of using household soap by different people)....

Disinfection of items...
To disinfect a toothbrush, it must be lathered with household soap after each use.
If there are any problems in the oral cavity, you can treat the toothbrush with a solution of laundry soap and leave it overnight, by the morning you will be sure that your toothbrush is completely disinfected. When choosing this saving soap, preference should be given to the usual gray piece, familiar to all of us from childhood, since the more beautiful the packaging, the more pleasant the smell from the fragrances put into the soap, the more likely it is that synthetic materials were used in its production, and then a positive effect from the use of soap can be zero.

To disinfect personal hygiene items at home (comb, toothbrush, washcloth), it is enough to lather them well and leave for several hours.

In the summer at the dacha, laundry soap has no equal. It washes dirty dishes and all sorts of dirt even in cold water. In addition, after washing or washing, the used soap solution can be safely poured onto the ground - this will not lead to contamination with chemicals.

Hair care.
Laundry soap has a good cosmetic effect - people talk about how washing their hair with laundry soap ensures that their hair becomes thick and healthy (and dandruff and brittle hair disappear), however, so that the scalp is not overdried after such washing , you still need to rinse your head with an acidic solution based on vinegar or lemon juice.

Diseases of the respiratory system.
Due to its antiviral properties, it is used for the prevention and treatment of the onset of the common cold. Why smear the inner surface of the nose with a swab.

From the beginning cold. Take a cotton swab dipped in soapy water and treat the sinuses, then (although it will pinch a little at first), the nose will never be blocked, and after 2-3 such treatments you will forget about a cold for a long time.
You can also act with the onset of the flu, because laundry soap has excellent antiviral properties.

Women's diseases.
In gynecology, laundry soap is used as an antifungal agent, and it is also successfully treated for thrush and prickly heat.
Any gynecologist will say that it is better to wash with natural soap than powder with fragrances and other chemicals. And for those who are allergic to the components of washing powders, this is just a salvation.

It turns out that laundry soap is successfully used to treat inflammatory processes (up to the beginning of gangrene); even gynecological diseases are successfully treated with them (in some maternity hospitals it is used to wash the floor in the departments where newborns are located); surgeons know about the amazing ability of laundry soap to replace surgical gloves (if you lather it on your hands and leave it to dry) - they say that then even with a cut during the operation, the risk of infection is minimal; it is (not surprisingly) also an antiviral agent (and with this purpose it is successfully used in the intimate sphere for the prevention of various diseases).

Skin care.
It is advised to wash with laundry soap - at least 2 times a week - so that the skin always looks young (after which it is necessary to lubricate the skin with an ordinary baby cream). Moreover, the effect of such washings, as those who have tried it, is better than from the use of expensive professional cosmetics.

For oily skin. Effective use of laundry soap.

Washing in a steam room with a birch broom soaked in a solution of laundry soap cleanses the skin very well: the skin is remarkably cleansed and then it seems to glow from the inside.

From irritation from a beautiful smelling soap. One elderly woman advised me to wash with laundry soap, she only uses it and knows no problems.

After depilation, shaving. To eliminate redness of the skin in sensitive areas, people also use laundry soap: just lather once and there will be no irritation.

To get rid of cracks and corns on the heels and give them softness. Make hot baths with soda and shavings of laundry soap. For 2 liters of hot water take:
- 1 tsp soda,
- 1 tbsp. l. planed laundry soap.

For nail care. You may not believe it, but ordinary laundry soap strengthens nails very well, and the result is visible after the first application! My nails are naturally weak, soft, and often exfoliate. I am saved only in this way.
I have been using this method of strengthening nails for a very long time (since the time when at school and at home they sealed windows with paper and rag tapes for the winter, lathering them with laundry soap. After such procedures, I noticed that my nails became very strong).
Now I just take ordinary laundry soap, lather my fingertips well so that everything is in white soapy mucus and stand for about 20-30 minutes. After that, I wash off the soap thoroughly, and use a hand cream. A very important point: after this procedure: when you wash off the soap, the nails must be sure to dry, then they will become hard. As long as they are wet, they are soft. You can do these masks for nails a couple of times a week. The result will please you! You get strong, healthy nails, prevention from bacteria and fungus.

For first degree burns. Tie a thin plastic of plain gray soap.
Or:
Laundry soap can even relieve pain if, for example, you scald your finger or get very sunburnt in the sun, as sometimes happens !!! One has only to anoint and within 5 minutes there is simply no pain and it does not appear !!!

Laundry soap is successfully used to treat a variety of inflammations. It has been noticed that if the bruised place is anointed with soap immediately, then most likely there will be neither a bruise nor a bump.

From bruises. If you or your child have a bruise (large or small, it doesn’t matter), we take a simple laundry soap, brown (I call it smelly) and smear the bruise. Soap needs to be dampened a bit. When the soap dries on the skin, apply more on top, and again, when it dries, smear. If you are at home, you can smear many times. A very effective remedy, tested on me personally, on my relatives. And now I found out that educators use this tool in the kindergarten, because children often bruise their foreheads, you yourself understand: they will hit the door, then they will hit each other on the forehead with toys, etc. In just an hour or two, you will notice how the bruise turns red, then turns green, and eventually disappears very quickly. Everyone, of course, is different and depends on the size of the bruise, the force of impact and the type of skin. Who is faster, and who is a little slower, but still fast! Health, good luck and NOT to fall!

With fungal skin lesions. Laundry soap also successfully copes with the treatment of fungal diseases of the feet - it is advised to thoroughly wash the affected areas on the skin with soap and a brush, after drying, treat the surface of the skin with iodine.

With acne. Washing with laundry soap will help.

With increased sweating. If you have sensitive skin or have allergies, be careful, it is advisable to consult a dermatologist, since laundry soap is quite alkaline.
Recently there was a program "About the most important thing" and they showed ways to get rid of the smell of sweat, and laundry soap turned out to be the most effective. But you need to wash them no more than 2 times a day, because. it is very alkaline. According to experts, if you use it, then the process of sweating will occur, but the smell will be neutralized. They also recommended using a diluted solution of eucalyptus extract (drops are sold at a pharmacy), you choose the concentration yourself, a couple of drops in a glass and rub problem areas forward. It has a disinfecting effect + a pleasant smell.
Personally, I use these two methods together. First, I washed problem areas, after a while I wiped it with a solution of eucalyptus. Now in the heat I feel more confident without deodorant, the smell is gone. Now I no longer wash like this every day, only once a week in the bath, and on the rest of the days I use shower gels at home, but I still wipe myself with eucalyptus, it has a pleasant smell.

From cracked heels;
- from corns.
Make a bath of 2 liters of hot water, 1 tsp. soda and 1 tbsp. l. planed laundry soap.

From scabies. Laundry soap is afraid of the scabies mite.

With boils. Laundry soap, grated onion and sugar are mixed in a 1: 1 ratio. This mixture should be applied to the abscess in the evening and covered with a bandage, by morning the wound will be cleansed.

From bedsores. Take:
- 1 liter of 3.2% milk,
- grate a piece of laundry soap on a coarse grater.
Boil this mixture, stirring to dissolve the soap. Cool and smear bedsores.

Body cleansing.
Once I watched a program about Chernobyl on TV and was surprised that after this terrible disaster people were sanitized from radiation, washed with ordinary laundry soap. Of course, I knew that our Soviet laundry soap is indispensable in the household, namely, ordinary, not packaged (in which there are additional, aromatic additives).

Bites.
When bitten by a dog. To prevent infection from entering the wound, it is advised to let the blood drain from the wound (it will wash out the bacteria), and then either apply gauze or bandage it with a bandage dipped in a solution of laundry soap.

Tableware.
In the summer, laundry soap is a wonderful assistant in the country in washing dishes and other utensils. And what is important - the used water with a soapy solution can be safely poured onto the ground: you will not pollute it with any chemicals.
It has been proven that modern dishwashing detergents are not completely washed off even with prolonged rinsing and leave harmful surfactants on it, which gradually causes considerable harm to the body. Washing dishes with laundry soap is the best solution for your health.

Laundry soap very effectively washes away dirt and grease from plates and pans + Does not remain on the surface (like newfangled detergents). Therefore, you do not poison yourself!

Wash.
When a child is about to be born in the family, it would be desirable to buy a piece or two of this soap. If you soap dirty diapers for them and soak them in soapy water, then, excuse me, all the products of children's vital activity are quickly washed off, which cannot be said about other means.
Laundry soap is a classic, it is universally suitable for many purposes!!!
Children's things just come to life after laundry soap!!! So even expensive powder does not remove stains !!!
You can, in principle, soak it first, and wash it in the washing machine in the evening, there will be no stains.

The alkaline balance (ph11-12) gives the soap excellent cleaning power. It removes strong and stubborn dirt that other products cannot. And the high content of fatty acids (72%) creates abundant foam, thanks to which it can be washed successfully in both hot and cold water. It also positively affects the properties of some types of fabrics, making their structure more voluminous. For example, washed wool becomes softer and fluffier.
+ if you are not too lazy and grate some of the soap, then this shavings can be poured into the washing machine and the machine will wash even Big things for you!

For mothers of babies and allergy sufferers, the question of "how to wash" is very important. Nobody wants to stand over a basin for hours, and baby powders are far from being as safe as their manufacturers want to assure us of this.
I found a way out - I make the laundry detergent myself. I found the recipe on the Internet, I don’t remember the exact source, but I don’t claim authorship, but I just want to recommend to you what suits me.
And so, we need a piece of 200 g of soap, soda ash 4 tbsp. l. and 2 liters of boiling water. We rub the soap on a grater, pour it with water, stir until completely dissolved, then pour soda into the same place. We get a viscous solution, which, as it cools, thickens and takes on the appearance of an opaque jelly. Pour it into a convenient jar, and you're done. I throw the gel with a spoon directly into the drum of the washing machine. For children's underwear, children's soap is better, because it is less alkaline, and for an adult it is laundry soap, I also really like the Sarma bleaching laundry soap. Washes well at temperatures of 40-60 degrees, rinses out perfectly. The dosage for 5 kg of laundry is about 200 g of gel. I have been using it for more than a year, the machine tolerates normally.

Due to its naturalness, this soap has an important hypoallergenic property. Children's things, diapers for newborns are recommended to be washed by them. Then the baby will not have any allergies and irritation. It is very convenient to wash small things, for which it is a pity to load the washing machine.
I advise only them to wash children's things and things of people suffering from allergies, because laundry soap has a natural composition and the smell is also natural! This I, as a soap maker, declare (the sweeter the soap waved, the more likely it was flavored with a chemical fragrance).

Laundry soap can be used to wash children's socks and tights - lather each one intensively and leave for about an hour, and then into the machine with powder. This effect is not achieved by any, even the most expensive powder.

Laundry soap is an indispensable thing in my bathroom as a detergent. With all the abundance of modern powders, I wash my underwear exclusively with it.
Everyone has long known about washing with laundry soap. So, for example, if you lather clothes before putting them in the washing machine, then no bleach is needed.
It can also be used as an option for washing products made of membrane fabric, which is widely used in ski tourism. At the same time, of course, it will not spoil the fabric (like powder), but then it would still be better to use special detergents.

Washing clothes. In warm water, add soda to work clothes and rub with laundry soap, let it soak and wash. Super!!! all the dirt goes away and you don’t need any expensive powder. Cheap and cheerful.

Wool washed with soap becomes more fluffy and soft.
Fabrics for optics and special equipment can only be washed with laundry soap.
Modern membrane fabrics, which are used in winter children's and ski clothing, cannot be washed with ordinary powders - only with special (and very expensive products) or, again, laundry soap.

Washing kitchen rags so as not to sour.
Boiling really turns into hard labor, but after boiling with laundry soap, kitchen towels turn white, not even all bleaches can boast of this !!!

Cleaning.
Laundry soap enjoys special respect in the medical environment. It is used as an antiseptic for cleaning rooms in maternity hospitals. Many doctors are still convinced that there is nothing better than laundry soap for household disinfection purposes.
And in ancient times it was used as "surgical gloves". They lathered their hands, waited for the foam to dry. Such a film reduced the risk of infection during surgery.

For plants.
A soap solution is used to remove aphids and other insects from plants, both indoor and garden.

For animals.
You can bathe animals with this soap.

When a pig fell ill, the veterinarian, without hesitation, prescribed treatment, washed with laundry soap, and after a few days everything went away, then there were glorious piglets.

Finally
We list the properties of natural solid laundry soap:
- it is a cleaning agent with excellent washing power;
- has a wide range of applications in production and at home;
- is an environmentally friendly product
- made from natural raw materials
- hypoallergenic
- harmless to use
- completely decomposes
- does not contain preservatives
- has an antibacterial effect;
- is an excellent antifungal agent;
- able to remove the most persistent pollution in both hot and cold water.
For many people, laundry soap is associated with times of eternal scarcity and at the mention causes only a smirk. But, having tried the abundance of modern detergents, you often want to return to the usual, but proven and safe laundry soap.

The composition of laundry soap includes sodium salts of fatty acids without the addition of dyes, preservatives, fragrances. This is a yellow-brown bar. Quite often, manufacturers add flavorings and other additives to give a more pleasant look and smell. But the most useful and best laundry soap is brown, without additives introduced into it.

Laundry soap is made from natural raw materials, or from synthetic fatty acids. Laundry soap is intended for sanitary and household purposes - washing hands, dishes, it washes efficiently in hot and cold water, perfectly removes old dirty stains, and is indispensable for washing work clothes. Laundry soap is absolutely harmless to humans and many people use laundry soap or shavings from it to wash their things, which is justified due to the hypoallergenicity of laundry soap.
Laundry soap still finds its consumers, despite the huge selection of detergents in stores. It is mainly used for washing linen, especially for children and made from natural fabrics, as well as for washing surfaces. The fact is that laundry soap has a number of properties that are not inherent in other types of detergents.
First, it is a natural and environmentally friendly product. Solid laundry soaps are sodium salts of fatty acids and are made from vegetable oils and animal fats, as well as high-quality special additives that improve their consumer properties when used.
Secondly, laundry soap has an alkaline balance (pH 11-12), due to which it is able to remove even stubborn dirt. Can be washed in both cold and hot water. It is noticed that washing with laundry soap is beneficial for woolen products, they become lush and soft.
Thirdly, laundry soap has been proven to have antibacterial properties. As an antiseptic, it is used in medicine and is indispensable for cleaning industrial premises.
And, finally, laundry soap is absolutely harmless to humans, as it contains only natural ingredients. It is hypoallergenic (even the clothes of small children can be washed) and does not irritate the skin.

In special containers (digesters), heated fats are saponified with caustic alkali (usually caustic soda). As a result of the reaction in the digesters, a homogeneous viscous liquid is formed, which thickens when cooled - soap glue, consisting of soap and glycerin. The content of fatty acids in soap obtained directly from soap glue is usually 40-60%. Such a product is called "glue soap". The method of obtaining adhesive soap is commonly called the "direct method".
The "indirect method" of obtaining soap consists in further processing of soap glue, which is subjected to salting - treatment with electrolytes (caustic alkali or sodium chloride solutions), as a result, liquid separation occurs: the top layer, or soap core, contains at least 60% fatty acids; the bottom layer is soap lye, an electrolyte solution with a high content of glycerin (also contains contaminants contained in the feedstock). The soap obtained as a result of the indirect method is called "sound".
The highest grade of soap - peeled, is obtained by grinding the dried sound soap on the rollers of a sawing machine. At the same time, the content of fatty acids in the final product rises to 72-74%, the structure of the soap improves, its resistance to drying out, rancidity and high temperatures during storage.
When caustic soda is used as an alkali, a solid sodium soap is obtained. Mild or even liquid potassium soap is formed when caustic potash is applied.

Laundry soap is obtained by cooling glutinous soap. Solid soap contains 40-72% basic substance, 0.1-0.2% free alkali, 1-2% free Na or K carbonates, 0.5-1.5% water-insoluble residue.
The high content of fatty acids (72%) provides a high cleaning power of the soap.
Depending on the content of fatty acids, laundry soap can be divided into 3 categories:
I (72%), II (70%), III (65%).
The higher the fatty acid content, the better the soap will deal with dirt and germs.
It should be noted that modern laundry soap is very different from its predecessors. Manufacturers have taken care of how to make this product more attractive to consumers. For example, DURU soap is flavored with various additives and can smell like apple, rose, lavender. Other manufacturers add components to the composition of laundry soap that have a beneficial effect on the skin of the hands (Stork with glycerin). There is a laundry soap with a whitening effect on the shelves (Sarma, DURU). White soap is becoming more and more common, and not dirty yellow, as in the days of our grandmothers.
However, this detergent also has its drawbacks. Alkali, which copes so well with stains, at the same time dries and degreases the skin of the hands. Therefore, after using laundry soap, do not forget to lubricate your hands with any moisturizer.

Laundry soap is a detergent, the main (active) part of which are sodium and potassium salts of fatty acids. Laundry soap is subdivided according to the type of source material, the method of production and processing, the consistency, the content of the detergent.

Soaps based on fats, fatty acids and a mixed fat base are distinguished by the type of starting material. In the production of soaps, solid animal fats (beef, mutton, pork, etc.), liquid vegetable fats (sunflower oil, cottonseed oil, etc.), lard (lard from butter) are used - a solid fat obtained by hydrogenation (saturation with hydrogen at the place of double bonds ) vegetable liquid oils.
Solid animal fats contain a greater amount of saturated fatty acids and form solid soaps during cooking, which are readily soluble at elevated temperatures. The addition of solid fats of vegetable origin (palm, coconut and other oils) increases the solubility of soaps at room temperature. Liquid vegetable fats form greasy soaps. The wide use of fatty acids makes soap making easier and more complete. Fatty acids are obtained by the breakdown of fats or synthetically by the oxidation of paraffins and other petroleum products.
The mixed fat base may include fats, fatty wastes (kitchen, sewage), soapstock, resin and naphthenic acids. Resin acids (in the form of rosin or rosin soap) improve pricing and delay the rancidity of soaps. Naphthenic acids reduce foam stability and soap hardness, making it more soluble.

According to the method of production, soaps obtained by saponification (cooking) of a fatty base and neutralization of fatty acids are distinguished. Saponification is carried out by the action of an aqueous solution of caustic alkali on a fatty base at a temperature of 100-105 °. Fatty substances break down into glycerol and a fatty acid, which forms a fatty acid salt (soap) with an alkali by reaction. Neutralization of fatty acids (carbonate saponification) is an economically more profitable way of making soap, as the process of soap formation is accelerated and simplified, and soda is used as an alkali, as it is cheaper.

According to the processing method, soaps are glutinous, salted, polished and sawn. Sticky soap is obtained by cooling the soap product. It contains 40-47% fatty acids, residues of unreacted fats and alkalis, glycerin. Salt out the soap to remove impurities and increase the detergent content. To do this, boiled soap glue is injected with table soda, salt or caustic soda. Dissolving in water, these substances reduce the solubility of soap. The soap separates and, being lighter, floats to form a layer of more concentrated, so-called sound soap. With repeated salting out, a cleaner and lighter polished soap is obtained. The peeled soap contains 70-85% fatty acids and has a more uniform structure. To obtain it, the soap is crushed, ground on rollers, dried and pressed into pieces.

According to the consistency, solid soap and liquid soap are distinguished. Solid soap is divided into bar, powder and in the form of shavings.

According to the content of the detergent (sodium or potassium salts of fatty, resinous and naphthenic acids), soap is divided into grades. Solid laundry bar soap is 60, 66, 70 and 72%, liquid-40% (1st grade) and 60% (highest grade). Powdered soaps are crushed and dried soap (68-82%) or compositions containing 10-25% fatty acids mixed with alkaline salts, soda ash, trisodium phosphator, sodium silicate.

How laundry soap is made
The main raw materials for the manufacture of laundry soap are animal and vegetable fats. The soap-making process consists in the fact that fats are heated in special containers - digesters, soda is added and boiled again. It turns out a viscous liquid that thickens when cooled - soap glue, which consists of soap and glycerin. The fatty acids in soap made from soap glue are 40-70%. This product is called adhesive soap. This method of its manufacture is called the direct method. The resulting soap is cooled, cut into bars and labeled.
There is also an indirect method, which consists in further processing the adhesive soap with electrolytes (sodium chloride solution or caustic alkali), as a result of which the liquid is stratified. The top layer (the so-called soap core) contains at least 60% fatty acids; in the lower layer - an electrolyte solution with a high content of glycerol. The soap obtained as a result of this method is called "sound".
The highest grade soap (piled) is obtained from heart soap by drying and grinding on the rollers of a sawing machine. At the same time, the content of fatty acids rises to 72-74%, the structure of the soap improves. It becomes more resistant to shrinkage and high temperature during storage.
Solid sodium soap is obtained by using caustic soda as an alkali. In the case of caustic potash, a mild or liquid soap is formed.
Modern technologies for the manufacture of laundry soap provide a sufficiently high quality, thanks to which the soap does not crumble, does not get wet and does not lose its original shape.
A feature of laundry soap is a high content of alkalis, which quickly and efficiently dissolve dirt and, moreover, have an antimicrobial effect. In medicine, laundry soap is still used as an antiseptic.
Laundry soap 65%, 70%, 72% is traditionally in great demand in various areas of the service and production sectors. Given that this product has no analogues at a low price, it is bought by hospitals, military units, and hotels.
Versatility in application. In a modern house for cleaning and washing, there is a whole arsenal of all kinds of household chemicals. But it is worth remembering about the traditional universal remedy for cleanliness in the house - laundry soap. What is important in our time, it is absolutely safe. Natural laundry soap is an environmentally friendly and natural product that does not cause allergies. To improve the look and smell, manufacturers can add fragrances and fragrances to laundry soap. But the best (and, by the way, the cheapest) is ordinary soap in bars of yellow-brown color, without unnecessary additives.
Laundry soap has an alkaline pH balance of 11-12, thanks to which it perfectly copes with the most stubborn stains. Due to the high content of fatty acids, the soap creates a rich lather when washing clothes in both hot and cold water.
