According to Antal Russia, the number of Russians who are ready to leave to work abroad has hardly changed over the year. 58% of respondents would agree to part with their homeland for the sake of an interesting position, compared to 59% a year earlier. At the same time, only 38% of survey participants are ready to relocate to another region of Russia.
The Village found out in which countries Russians want to work, how great are the chances of finding a job there and what should be done for this.

What helps to find a job abroad

Irina Kalkina

senior manager of the recruiting company Antal Russia

Competition in the labor market in Western Europe, namely in the main countries of interest to Russians, is very high. In addition to local applicants, many residents of the peripheral countries of the European Union seek to find work there. Thus, a certain hierarchy of candidates is formed: local residents, candidates from other EU countries, applicants from other countries. Only if none of the candidates “with a European residence permit” suits the employer, he can pay attention to other applicants who want to work on the territory of a Western European state, including Russians.

In my field of vision, there are practically no people who successfully got a job in Europe from Russia by direct search, not through promotion within the structure of the current employer company. However, it is necessary to make a reservation that IT and digital specialists stand apart: the demand for technical candidates from Russia has existed for a very long time.

However, the chance to get a job abroad remains. Financiers can get a job in Europe through the Big Four companies: in Europe, the Big Four attracts candidates from the market, including as consultants out of state, to help on projects with Russian companies. We are aware of such cases. Another option is to go get an MBA in the West and stay there after completing your studies. During your studies, you will have the opportunity to get your first work experience abroad and connections that can help you build a career, but the competition will be high.

For IT professionals, a well-filled LinkedIn profile can be the key to success. I know of cases where people landed in dream companies like Google and Facebook simply because employers noticed their profile and contacted them directly.

The most reliable way to gain work experience abroad is to get a job in an international company in Russia. You may be transferred to an overseas office as a promotion or as part of a rotation practice. In many companies, mid-level employees and above are required to work for some period of time in an office abroad in order to gain additional experience that will later help them develop and develop the company in Russia. Among the candidates we placed in the Russian branches of international companies, many now work in offices around the world.

Now many of our compatriots would like to find work abroad. Those who are considering options for foreign relocation can be divided into several groups. These are recent university graduates, not burdened with family and obligations at home, who want to try their hand and gain interesting experience. These are young professionals who want to build a career abroad. These are middle managers of international companies who move to work in other divisions. And finally, these are top managers and high-level specialists who are invited to leadership positions.

Basically, our compatriots are attracted by Great Britain, USA, Canada, European countries. There are many who want to go to the countries of South America or the United Arab Emirates, China, Hong Kong. We also have experience in finding specialists for rather unpopular destinations - Nigeria, Guatemala. We were looking for people for the projects of large Russian mining and manufacturing companies in the countries of Central Africa, here the motivation was the possibility of rapid career growth, a leadership position in the perimeter of the company after the end of the project, and a solid compensation package. But not every person is ready to go to a country where there are a huge number of risks.

It is worth noting the fact that employment most often occurs according to the legislation of the country in which the international project is launched.
In the case of the conclusion of such an employment contract, the seniority will not go, and, therefore, there will be no pension contributions either. Let's not forget about taxes: in some countries they can reach up to 50%. But then you will be able to apply in Russia for more interesting positions and an attractive salary level.

Let's not forget about taxes: in some countries they can reach up to 50%

The crisis in Europe began much earlier than in our country, therefore, for specialists without significant work experience, now, of course, is not the best time. Rare highly professional specialists are still in demand, but in terms of their level, they are more like managers above the middle level. There is a demand for IT specialists. If you still decide to try your hand abroad, then the easiest way is to get a job in Russia in a foreign company where there are projects for the temporary transfer of an employee to foreign divisions (secondment), and discuss this possibility in advance.

The second option is to post a resume on foreign resources (such as monster.com, for example) or contact Western recruiters. This will work if you are a recognized professional in your field and your experience is really interesting for Western employers.

At present, they try not to hire Russians without unnecessary necessity.
And the matter is not only in the political situation, but also in the availability of quotas, additional costs for relocation, and so on. Many of our compatriots, having received a Western diploma and worked abroad for some time, are now happy to return to Russia, as they understand that in most cases there are more opportunities for growth here.

More than 20 million former and current our fellow citizens are scattered around the world. Most of them dispersed around the world in the 80-90s. In Russia, it is commonly believed that the best intellectuals are leaving our country, but in reality this is not the case.

The favorite scary tale of domestic "patriots", who frighten the people with a cry about a brain drain from a great power, turned out to be a myth.

The Russians really go over the hill, but basically not to invent supersonic engines or superweapons, but to work as cleaners, nannies, nurses or sellers in supermarkets.

In the first six months of 2009 alone, 37,000 people left Russia to work in other countries.

If the total number of those who left for a better life is 100%, then programmers and scientists who continue to work in their field are less than the rest - 10%. The bulk of emigrants are people without higher education, with working specialties obtained back in the Soviet Union or Russia in the 90s.

Those who have a diploma in their hands, in 86% of cases, do things in a new place that are not at all what they planned in their homeland.

Most Russians abroad are people aged 35 and older. According to local residents, both in Europe and in the USA, the main problem of Russians is their unwillingness to learn foreign languages. This is what hinders their career.

In Russia, they have long been accustomed to treat visiting hard workers with condescension. Tajiks were registered as janitors, Chinese - as traders, Moldovans - as repairmen.

According to Sergey Dubov, a business coach and psychologist at Nanoprom, Russians like to discuss guest workers in many ways in order to grow in their own eyes. Like, we will never travel around Europe and do local cheap repairs. “At the same time, it will be useful for our people to look at how Russian workers are treated there. We still live under the rule of the myth that they are trying to steal our brains. But if you look at the real picture, it is not the brains that are stolen, but the hands and feet. We supply cheap and low-skilled labor to the West, and in this we differ little from the same Moldovans, ”the expert is sure.

According to the Federal Migration Service, out of 37,000 who have gone abroad since the beginning of this year, almost 7,000 have found employment in the service and recreation sector. Almost 28 thousand people are engaged in commercial activities, which in almost 60% of cases are limited to small-scale wholesale trade, that is, what was called “shuttle trading” ten years ago.

In addition to the service sector, Russians who left the country are actively engaged in the transport sector. Russian truckers are recruited by all European companies, sailors are taken on board Scandinavian ships. At the same time, the main advantage of our fellow citizens, alas, is not professionalism, but cheapness.

Those who have left react very painfully to the request to tell about their life behind the hillock. “I get much more than in my native Tambov, I live in better conditions, but there I was a doctor, and here I am a simple maid,” complains Lyudmila, who has worked for almost ten years in an Italian resort in Sicily.

She admits that she is ashamed to say how she earns her bread, so her elderly mother tells everyone that Luda works in her profile - a pediatrician.

“When I tell my friends in Moscow that I worked for the first two years in the USA as a cook's assistant in a small eatery, they wince! And I don't understand why! Now I have received citizenship, I work as a lawyer in a reputable company, I earn almost 400 thousand a year, and I am not ashamed that I started with a cook, ”says Ilya Karuzelsky, who left for the United States immediately after graduating from the law faculty of Moscow State University back in 1995.

The attitude to work among the Russians who stayed here and those who left and achieved success there is very different. Here there is the concept of a shameful and prestigious job, and there it is considered shameful to be out of work.

Alexander Shmuliga, a former economics teacher who moved to Sweden in 1998 and worked as a dock worker for the first time, recalls that when he talked about what he was doing, he did not hear a single sneer. “And at home they would eat me,” he adds.

USA

Bartender

Our compatriots in the United States are mainly employed in the service sector, usually working as bartenders in inexpensive establishments.

“These are young people, they know English, they try to please clients, but they can do little,” Craig Lawton, a lawyer from Boston, shares his impressions.

Most Russians work for Russian entrepreneurs. At the same time, compatriot employers treat their own with disdain, and even with disgust. “They work for Russian entrepreneurs, as a rule, illegally, so as not to pay taxes,” says Russian Daria, who herself has been working as a bartender at the club for the past four months. “I heard a lot of complaints. Quite often there are cases when they deceive, do not pay money for work. It's a shame that they treat their own people like that."

$1,800 is the average salary for a bartender

Germany

The hairdresser

Russians in Germany, according to unofficial data, about 5 million.

Most of our work as hairdressers, sellers. People with a specialty and legal documents work at factories as assemblers, repairmen, adjusters.

Oksana S. moved to Germany a year ago when she married a Russian German. “I can’t get a job anywhere yet,” says Oksana. Now the girl works as a hairdresser at home. But the circle of her clients is very narrow - only well-known people. “With unofficial work, it is much stricter here than in Russia. It's better not to risk it. Only acquaintances and friends come to me for haircuts - people who definitely won’t go anywhere to complain, ”explains Oksana. Now she goes to courses to get a certificate and apply for an official job.

In the north of the country, people from cold Russia are not very common. These are mainly architects, designers, employees of trading companies. At home, these people lived in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other million-plus cities. But in the resort south, the picture is completely different. Residents of provincial towns go there, ready for any, even dirty and hard work.

“My friend owns several hotels on the islands in the Gulf of Naples. All his dishwashers are Russian. Almost all women. Of course, there are many Ukrainians there, but we don’t really understand who is from where - they are all Russians for us. This, one might say, is a stereotype: he washes dishes, which means he is from the USSR, ”comments Leo Marchignani, a pensioner from Naples.

When the holiday season ends, the Russians go either as waiters, or as sellers, or as watchmen.

800 euros pay for washing dishes

Spain

Waiter

There are not too many Russians in Spain, but those who are are busy in restaurants during the holiday season. They will not be taken to serious establishments, since the owner will have a lot of problems with the waiters' union, the police and local authorities. Therefore, the destiny of the Russians is to distribute plates in inexpensive private establishments. There are no guarantees for the protection of labor rights, and indeed rights in general, there, but you can earn money for food and rented housing.

“These are eateries for locals, not tourists,” says Alexander Prokhorov, who has been working in one of these places in the southeast of the country for the third year. - It is quite possible to earn about 1000 euros per month. Another plus is that you acquire connections, my friend got a job as a personal driver for one of the clients, they pay more there.

Denmark

farmer

All labor migrants in Denmark can be conditionally divided into two types: those who settle in cities (mostly doctors and representatives of technical professions), and those who live and work outside the city. Russian migrants mostly belong to the second type. Former Russians work on farms as hired workers.

The salaries of representatives of this group are quite low by Danish standards: migrants receive 100-110 crowns per hour for cleaning, caring for animals and harvesting crops. “Honestly, I don’t understand why these people go to Denmark. They could just as well do menial work in Russia,” says Olga, a student at the University of Copenhagen who has seen enough of her compatriots.

Olga has the opposite situation: she purposefully came to the country to study.

Israel

Programmer

Israel stands apart from other European countries. There, the Russians lost the palm to the Ukrainians in the service sector, but they are confidently leading among programmers.

Especially appreciated are those who graduated from specialized universities, for example, Bauman Moscow State Technical University.

“If you are professionally worth something, then there will be no problems with employment. At first they will look at you, and then they will keep you in good standing and pay decent money,” Vasily Arlamov, who has been working as a programmer in one of the Israeli transport companies for the fourth year, is sure.

The money he earns is enough for him to live and to support his parents who have remained in Moscow. “I feel more comfortable here than in Russia, it’s nice when at work they appreciate you for your skills, and not for something else,” says Vasily.

Sweden

Nurse

Sweden is one of those countries in which a visitor needs enough work capacity and intelligence to settle down. Six months after arrival, you must pass an exam for knowledge of the Swedish language. If it is passed successfully, then you will be helped to find a job.

Russians, or rather, Russian women, are actively employed after passing the exam as nurses in hospitals and nursing homes. Without a Swedish diploma, their salary is low by local standards - about 500 euros per month. However, after getting about a year of experience and good reviews from the authorities, you can enroll in courses, get a local diploma or certificate and increase your earnings up to 2000 euros per month.

“The Russians have one problem: they are very reluctant to learn our language. Why is there ours - and English too, - says Dick Arnessen, a Swedish entrepreneur from Gothenburg. “It prevents them from adapting.”

Norway

Sailor

In Norway, the word "Russian" is associated among the local population with the profession of a sailor.

It is no secret that our sailors sail the seas and oceans under exotic flags, very often becoming victims of dishonest employers. That is why in Stavanger, Bergen, Tromso and other Norwegian ports you can meet a lot of Russians in vests, ready to charter on any decent ship owned by a Norwegian company.

Our sailors are in demand, and not only ordinary sailors, but also navigators, captain's assistants, watch officers.

Norwegians rarely fool our brother, they pay honestly and on time. Russian sailors are especially popular in the fishing and merchant fleet. Those who have a Russian special education are in good standing.

A sailor can earn 2,000 euros for a month of sailing

England

Nanny

Oddly enough, nannies with Russian passports are valued in foggy Albion. As a rule, these are young (under 30 years old) women with excellent knowledge of English and a diploma from a prestigious Moscow university. The middle class recruit them privately, not through agencies. Russian women are trusted to raise English children, to study music, history, and mathematics with them.

“Russian women are valued for their complaisance, good manners, and their slight flaws in the language are quickly smoothed out by the relatively low cost of services,” says businessman Anatoly Stetsenko, who has been living in London for eight years.

“There are special forums on the Internet where the British can look at the track record of a nanny, recommendations from Russians who have lived here for a long time,” he continues.

3700 euros - this amount can be expected by a nanny with experience

France

Clerk

Russians in France can be conditionally divided into three categories. The first are those who come here just to get hooked. They usually live on a tourist visa, and when it expires, they simply remain in France as illegal immigrants. Representatives of this category work mainly in the service sector: waiters, maids and babysitters. The second group of migrants are students who go on an internship to France. In exchange for a free education and a dorm room, students are required to work for six months in a French company as trainees. Many of them remain in the country.

France is one of the few countries in Europe where Russians are very often found in low-level positions in the offices of large companies. They are valued for their efficiency and loyalty to the company-employer.

1500 euros can receive a novice clerk

Canada

Salesman

In Canada, according to people who have already moved there, they do not make distinctions on the basis of nationality. In the same profession, for example, among waiters, there can be Poles, Ukrainians, Belarusians, and even Irish. But "Russian" is considered the work of a salesman in large department stores or grocery stores.

“For this work, legal documents, knowledge of the language and diligence are enough, so the Russians willingly go there. This is a good starting point, from which, alas, not all visitors then go somewhere further, ”comments Mark Starr, owner of the Millenium store in Toronto.

According to him, it is easiest for young people who have just arrived in the country to get a job in trade. “Those with a head will also study, because without a local diploma in Canada you can’t make a career. The rest will just live.

Turkey

Animator

Animators in Turkey are not only Russians, but also Germans, Finns, and Spaniards. Mostly young people under 30 are employed in this profession. And Russian animators in popular resorts are valued much more than representatives of other countries.

“They are more mobile, they think faster, they know how to really turn on vacationers, involve them in a collective game, competitions,” says Hamit Chakkoni, vice-manager of a hotel in Kemer.

According to him, it is much easier and faster to make a good animator out of a Russian than out of a German.

“I was surprised, but your guys adapt better to the audience than the same Poles. Yours are ready to work at 100%. In my hotel, the chief of animators is a hefty guy from Tyumen. The Germans love him very much,” says Hamit.

Hello, dear readers of the site. Due to the crisis, many Russians with low incomes are barely making ends meet: the money they earn is barely enough to pay utility bills and food. Earning money abroad becomes the only way for them to save up for their own apartment, car, open their own business, or simply support their family with dignity.

What Russians need to know in order to find a well-paid job outside their homeland, and at the same time avoid the risk of unsuccessful employment, we will consider in this article.

What you need to know

Working in foreign countries makes it possible not only to accumulate the necessary amount, but also to learn a foreign language, broaden your horizons, gain experience, which will later help you find a decent job in your own country. Some seek to travel abroad in the hope of obtaining a residence permit in a more developed and successful country.

All vacancies offered by foreign employers fall into two main categories:

  1. For skilled workers. Enterprises of other states willingly accept graduates in the field of IT technologies, science, and medicine. Foreign employers often pay prospective employees for language courses.
  2. For unqualified personnel. The level of remuneration in comparison with highly qualified workers in this niche is significantly lower. However, a person without education or a student without any work experience has the opportunity to earn significantly more than in their home country. The most demanded for unskilled workers are vacancies in the field of cleaning, maintenance, harvesting.

Many Russians choose geographically close countries because of the relatively low cost of moving.

When choosing a country for employment, it is necessary to take into account a number of factors:

  • Knowledge of foreign language. It is especially important for persons applying for a highly paid qualified vacancy.
  • Work experience and education certificate. If you want to get a job with high pay for a long period of time.
  • The amount of future wages, field of activity. These issues are carefully considered in advance. It is necessary to calculate how much will be spent on food, rent, and how much you can save, taking into account these expenses. Going to work abroad, you need to know exactly what exactly you will do and whether you will be able to cope with the upcoming responsibilities.
  • Proper execution of documents that allow you to find a job legally. The package of documents for entry into different states is different. To obtain an accurate list of all the necessary certificates, you should refer to the website of the consulate of the desired country.
  • Knowledge of the customs, legislation and rights of the place to which you plan to leave. It is especially recommended to carefully study such information when traveling to Asian countries, where you can pay an impressive fine for violating laws or religious traditions.

For Russians, work abroad is most in demand in countries such as Germany, the USA, Israel, Spain, Norway, the Czech Republic, and South Korea.

How to look for work abroad: a step by step guide

Citizens of Russia who have decided to go to another country to work have two options for finding a suitable job:

  1. On one's own.
  2. With the help of intermediary agencies.

The first method, although it requires a lot of effort and time, is considered more reliable.

For young people who want to go to America, there is another option - through a special student exchange program. Such a program is called Work and Travel.

The amount of payment will depend on whether the student knows a foreign language, and what area he has chosen for work. The advantage of such a program is not only the opportunity to earn extra money, but also to gain invaluable experience, improve language skills, and see the world. The program includes two mandatory parts:

  • Earn money in a restaurant, amusement park, shop, hotel, etc.
  • The journey that a young man must embark on upon completion of the first, working part. He is prohibited from working during this period.

After a vacancy is found, you should take care of collecting a package of documents and obtaining a work visa. Other types of visas for work abroad are not suitable. Foreigners working on such visas will face a fine, deportation and possible refusal to enter this country in the future.

Citizens of Russia for legal work in the EU countries will also need special permits.

Job search on your own

If you decide to look for a job without intermediaries, you can use the following methods:

  • Search for advertisements from employers. Such announcements are available on the websites of embassies of different countries, or on the websites of companies. In this case, communication takes place directly with the employer. When submitting a resume, it is important to find out from him the requirements regarding knowledge of the language and experience.
  • Job search through acquaintances who have already worked in another state. If you have such acquaintances, you can find out firsthand about working conditions, the features of moving and living, and real wages. Such acquaintances can recommend trusted intermediaries or help you get settled.

Job search through agencies

Those who decide to look for a suitable place not on their own, but through agencies, need to be extremely careful. Contact with an unscrupulous intermediary can result in, at best, a loss of money for services not provided, and at worst, illegal residence in any European country without funds and the opportunity to return to your homeland.

Due to the increasing cases of charlatanism, information was posted on the FMS website with advice for Russians who want to go to work in foreign countries.

Before contacting the company, you should carefully study the following data:

  • License number. The first three digits should be "152". If the license number starts with other numbers, then it was not issued by the Migration Service. To get access to the license, you need to make a request to the selected company.
  • Services. A legally operating company is engaged not only in providing information, but also in assisting in concluding a contract. In the absence of a contract, the immediate return of the deposit must be demanded.
  • Name of the director of the company. It is recommended to carefully review the FMS website, where the name of the head of the selected company must be listed. In the absence of it, it is not worth concluding a contract.

First signs of fraud are:

  • $200 rate promise in Europe, America or other country.
  • Requirement to pay tuition fees before starting work.
  • The provision by the company of links to private ads, and not the official websites of employers.
  • Attempts to obtain confidential information from the interlocutor on the phone or when communicating via the Internet.

Work abroad: Top 10 vacancies without knowledge of the language

Applicants who do not speak a foreign language can easily get a job:

  • Cleaners, cooks, laundresses, nannies, governesses.
  • Builders, welders, loaders, drivers, assemblers, millers, electricians.
  • Ancillary workers on agricultural farms, meat processing plants, fish factories, etc.

Russians without knowledge of the language who are currently looking for work can use the rating below:

Construction workers Germany Berlin) Täftenbuss GmbH 12 euro/hour
Excavator, asphalt paver drivers, laborers at a construction site Poland (Koszalin) PLN 17/hour

Conclusion

People who want to work abroad should not be afraid of hard work. In developed countries, even the most low-skilled work is often paid more decently than many prestigious office positions at home.

Foreign employers treat all employees with respect, they are always polite, tactful and friendly. Unfortunately, this is a rarity in Russia, Ukraine and some other post-Soviet countries.

After 1-2 years of work, a simple laborer can apply for a more prestigious and paid job. Long work in some countries makes it possible to move to permanent residence.

The desire to find a well-paid job is quite understandable and natural. There is a problem in Russia: in places that are far from regional district centers, wages rarely rise above the minimum wage. And in some outbacks, it may not reach this minimum. To increase their income, Russians can go to work elsewhere.

Work for the state

There are regions in Russia where workers are in great demand. The state provides them with benefits and draws up the necessary packages of documents.

For example, people with good physical health are in demand in the North. Much of the work Siberia has to offer requires endurance. This is due, firstly, to the climate: summers in the North are short, winters are long, the sun rarely appears and warms little. Not every person can handle it. Secondly, with the state of medicine. There are competent doctors, but they are few, because there are not many people there at all. A person with a chronic disease that can flare up suddenly, or with low immunity, will simply have nowhere to get help quickly if something happens.

People with a working specialty can also go there. Cooks, cleaners, plumbers, as well as doctors and people who know how to work with documentation are in demand. Drivers are always needed, moreover, those who know how to fix their own car. Teachers can also easily get a job.

It is worth noting that families willingly take people to the North - it is believed that it is easier for a person who has close relatives to live in difficult conditions. But they try not to take young girls - the specifics are such that more men work, few women, and the authorities are afraid of possible troubles in the team.

Work in large companies

The best paid positions are held by people in large companies whose activities are related to the oil and gas industry. These include Gazprom and Surgutneftegaz. In the latter, the driver's earnings start from 40 thousand rubles. Employees who are involved in other areas can choose a position and an employer, guided by the rating of "100 Best Employers in Russia". We present the first five positions:

  1. SIBUR- leader of the Russian petrochemistry.
  2. PJSC Gazprom Neft is a well-known oil company.
  3. State Corporation Rosatom— association of enterprises of the nuclear industry.
  4. "MTS"- telecommunications company.
  5. "Norilsk Nickel" is a manufacturer of non-ferrous and precious metals.

Watch

All shift work usually takes place in the North. You have to travel by train, which is paid by the employer, and upon arrival at the place he will issue a form and provide housing. It is better to find out all the conditions in advance, because in case of refusal to work, you will have to pay a penalty and go back at your own expense. You can get to the North in different ways:

  • through the websites of interested companies. This is the easiest way. You can find companies on the Internet that may theoretically need workers, and look at the section with vacancies. If any of them are suitable, it is enough to send out your resume and wait for a response;
  • through friends. If someone is already working in the North, he can advise a well-paid job with adequate bosses, and tell the management itself about a person who is interested in coming.

You can still find private ads on sites dedicated to finding employees, but this is less safe than a large company. When hiring for an individual entrepreneur, it is imperative to conclude an agreement and communicate with those who have already worked for him in order to get an idea of the conditions.

When going on a shift, you need to take the necessary pills with you if you have a chronic illness, and drugs in case of a sudden ailment (painkillers, antipyretics, anti-inflammatory drugs, patches, hydrogen peroxide). You can grab something with which you can have fun (cards, a board game, books, chess, a tablet with movies and the Internet).

Be sure to take a supply of sweets, tea and cigarettes with you, even non-smokers - in the North it is a universal currency that can be exchanged for something or used to strengthen relationships with comrades. The general mood should be combative and positive. There is nothing to do without them on the watch.

Where to go to work abroad

  • Germany;
  • Czech;
  • Scandinavia;
  • China;
  • Canada;
  • Thailand;
  • Great Britain;
  • Alaska;
  • South Korea.

Going to another country is an idea for the brave in spirit, which usually attracts young people or those who are bored with gray everyday life.

Germany

The country is rich, English is spoken here, although not everywhere. Programmers, doctors, teachers and engineers are required exclusively with higher education and with work experience of at least five years. Retirees are not welcome. But there is a big plus: a properly issued work visa allows you to move to permanent residence in two years.

USA

Engineers, good doctors and programmers are required. The salary is high, but the standard of living requires significant spending. It is almost impossible to get a job without official permission. Invited employees, foreigners with a residence permit and some students are eligible for it. In most cases, a higher level of English proficiency is required.

Czech

For several years in a row, the number of popular professions that you can get legally includes:

  • driver;
  • security guard;
  • Cook;
  • waiter;
  • welder.

The country also needs logistics workers and teachers. A Russian can work without a special permit if he has refugee status, has received a residence permit in the Czech Republic, or is a citizen of the EU and the EEA (or he is a family member of such a citizen).

IT workers are in great demand in the Czech Republic: if a citizen of the Russian Federation confirms his qualifications and nostrifies his education document, he will have a chance to get a well-paid job.

Scandinavia

A good option for those who live in St. Petersburg. The laws are sparing, seasonal shift work is very popular, for example: picking strawberries on farms for three months. The conditions are difficult, there are age restrictions, but the pay is good.

You can also try to find a job in Norway. For example:

  • builder;
  • petroleum engineer;
  • health worker;
  • geo-engineer;
  • programmer;
  • waiter
  • an employee of a trading company.

If we talk about salaries, then qualified engineers (as of 2018) and programmers receive from 50 to 54 thousand kroons, and power engineers - up to 51 thousand. The work of workers in the service sector is paid less: a waiter receives up to 30,000 kroons.

In Sweden, the highest wages for doctors are 6-6.5 thousand euros, programmers - 4-5 thousand euros and university teachers - 4-5 thousand euros. Representatives of construction specialties will receive from 2 to 3 thousand euros, and service workers - from 2 to 2.5 thousand.

China

This country is famous for its good living conditions for migrants. As a rule, employers compensate for the cost of flights and pay for housing - in this regard, they are much more loyal than Europeans. Russians will find jobs in culture, telecommunications, engineering, education and IT. Especially, of course, qualified workers are in demand - doctors, financiers, representatives of the technical industry. Women of Slavic appearance can easily get a job as animators, dancers and even presenters.

Canada

When planning a move to this country, you need to understand that the list of professions in demand will be different depending on the region. Russians in Canada usually work as welders, truckers, bricklayers, laborers and social workers. A girl can get a job as a nurse, waitress, salesman, maid or nanny. Russian nurses are very popular - at local prices they ask for a little. The advantage of such work is that it includes accommodation and can be easily combined with freelancing or working part-time. Medical or pedagogical education would be a significant advantage.

Thailand

The tourism sector is well developed here and it is in it that workers are usually required. Efficient waiters, eloquent guides, people of creative professions - the employer does not care if he is Russian, Ukrainian, or Polish in front of him. However, keep in mind that the official language of Thailand is Thai, and not everyone speaks English here.

Great Britain

The salary here is very high, but you need a specialty and experience. Engineers and programmers are required. People without qualifications are not in demand. Any work (for the state or for a private trader) involves the conclusion of an agreement with the host, otherwise there is no need to talk about any legal entry.

Alaska

Work on its territory is mainly connected with fishing. Therefore, the most demanded workers will be fish carcass splitters, product sorters and fishermen. If the first two can be both a man and a woman, then the stronger sex is mainly recruited for fishing. This is due to the specifics of the work: the fisherman must be hardy and strong. Due to the difficult working conditions, these qualities are decisive when applying for a job (that is, a qualification or diploma is not always required).

South Korea

You can go here on a rotational basis for harvesting or as a vegetable grower. In this case, meals and rent are paid by the employer, and in bad weather, the employee will always have a day off. The salary of a shift worker starts from $90 per day.

Girls can get a job as a hostess in a restaurant or club. It is desirable, of course, knowledge of at least English - this will significantly increase the chances. Hostesses can earn up to $2,500 per month, excluding tips.

What kind of work can you get abroad

It all depends on the country (climate, main industries), region (province, regional center) and the field of activity of the Russian. Abroad, knowledge of the language is very important. If a person does not know him, then the opportunity to find a job drops significantly. Few employers want to have an employee with whom they can communicate solely with the help of an online translator or gestures: it wastes time, but the work is worth it. If a Russian speaks at least English, the way to many states opens up for him. He will be able to get a job in the service sector, and on a rotational basis. To work in a specialty, you usually also need the state language, as well as confirmation of a diploma.

No experience and/or qualifications

If there are no special skills, the choice is not very large. As a rule, these are seasonal harvesting jobs, employment in fish, meat processing plants and conveyor production. Men can work as builders, drivers, loaders. Women - cleaners, cooks, nannies.

Highly skilled workers

The presence of a specialty becomes an indisputable plus. So you can get a work visa, if you try. Workers with experience and qualifications can be invited by foreign employers, but if a Russian has a diploma and extensive experience in his field, he can try to get a job on his own:

  • engineer;
  • milling machine;
  • programmer;
  • doctor;
  • teacher.

In most cases, knowledge of the local language will be required, but the employer can pay for training.

Remember that all employers who promise high earnings abroad without official registration are either scammers or offer completely slave conditions. Therefore, a person who wants to make good money, but does not have qualifications and does not know the language, is better to think about where to go to work in Russia.

You also need a passport and a visa to travel abroad. Without them, a visitor's stay in the country is simply illegal, and his chances of finding work abroad are also greatly reduced. Moreover, entering the country illegally, you can be deported. And legal work abroad is always more profitable.

How to find the right job abroad

You can find a job abroad on your own or with the help of an intermediary. The first option is more difficult, but more reliable.

With the help of agencies

Turning to agencies, you need to be careful, as there is a high chance of falling for a scammer and leaving for another country as an illegal immigrant. Cases of fraud are so frequent that the Federal Migration Service officially gave some advice to citizens wishing to work abroad. When contacting a company, you need to pay attention to:

  • license. Her number must begin with the numbers 152, otherwise the Migration Service would definitely not issue her. Access to the license must be provided upon request;
  • director's name. It must be listed on the FMS website;
  • services. The company you should contact should not only provide information, but help to conclude an agreement. If there is no contract, the deposit must be returned.

Can't believe:

  • people who promise a bet of $2000 in Europe, Ukraine or America;
  • companies that offer to pay for training first, and then start working.

You can not provide confidential information about yourself on the Internet or by phone, as well as contact companies that simply provide links to private ads.

You need to be extremely careful, otherwise you can stay in the European Union among foreigners living illegally. Although it is more likely that an unscrupulous company will simply take the money and give nothing in return, except for a bunch of old ads. Reviews can help you choose a good employer, but only if they were written by real people.

Independent job search

If you decide to do your own research, you can:

  • find friends who have already found work abroad and take advantage of their feedback. They will be able to advise either a trusted intermediary, or an adequate employer, or even help you get a job;
  • find an employer ad. You can search for them on the website of the embassy in the desired country - there will surely be a page with invitations.

Or you can browse the companies' websites directly. Pay attention not only to the required experience and branch of business, but also to whether knowledge of languages is necessary.

Work abroad for women: how to find and get a job

A woman can find vacancies on Russian-speaking and foreign resources. Advertisements for hiring housewives, nurses and nannies in European countries are popular. Age is different everywhere, but Russian women are usually required from 21 to 40 years old. The language is not always needed, because sometimes people hire nannies for a child so that he practices Russian from childhood. In Turkey and Poland, you can get a job as a seamstress, but this will require education or experience in the clothing industry. Hairdressers, makeup artists and manicurists are required in the UAE, Turkey and Poland. And for seasonal work, you can get a job in Finland, the same Poland and Sweden.

To get a job legally, you need to contact the employer (directly or through an intermediary) and discuss the conditions of flight and accommodation. He should also help resolve the visa issue by sending an official invitation to Russia. Remember that when moving abroad you need to have a valid passport.

Which countries should you not visit?

The ranking of countries with the lowest wages for migrants includes Belgium, Austria, Luxembourg, Greece, Sweden and France. For this reason, it is worth thinking carefully when moving there in order to earn money. However, statistics are not always the same for everyone. Some companies are willing to pay foreigners if they really know their business. So everything is individual.

Volunteering - work for food or unlimited opportunities for self-realization?

Volunteering in Russia is just beginning to emerge, and in the minds of many people is still on a par with “free labor” and something that can only be done if there is a lot of free time. However, in the rest of the world it has long been an opportunity for unlimited self-development. We will not consider here in detail the spiritual aspect of volunteering, although, undoubtedly, it is the desire to grow spiritually, to make the world a better place, to serve and help humanity that leads most people to the need for “free work”.
