Which business is the most profitable? The most profitable business in Russia

Taking into account the unstable economic situation, businesses that require not the largest investments and can quickly pay for themselves are becoming relevant. The top successful projects, the income of which is several times higher than the initial investment and the peak of demand for which will be in 2017, was prepared by Ekaterina Soyak, CEO of EMTG.

1. Fixed price stores

During a crisis, such a business is beneficial, first of all, for entrepreneurs - with a fixed price for a product in a purchasing store, it usually costs no more than 10 rubles. Therefore, from one unit of goods you can get at least 500% revenue. An excellent example in this direction is the domestic chain of one-price stores Fix-Price. The company now operates more than 2,000 retail outlets throughout Russia, of which about 250 are open as franchises and are actively entering neighboring markets. Over the past 5 years, the number of fixed price stores in our country has increased by 1000%.

The route is actively developing in the domestic passenger transportation market and is in greatest demand in Moscow, which accounts for up to 65% of all orders. These companies traditionally do not advertise their reports, but informed sources indicate that in the capital region the turnover of taxi aggregators is 20 billion rubles. per month, while in Western countries they suffer billions of losses. Over the next two or three years, this business will remain promising in Russia, especially in Russian regions, where such concepts do not yet occupy leading positions, but have enormous potential for development.

Also becoming a very popular trend today are businesses that deliver ready-made food to your home - food constructors that allow you not only to eat a ready-made dish, but to prepare it yourself from the ingredients provided. This is a global trend. According to some estimates, by 2020 the turnover of this market will grow to $10 billion per year. Again, for now this service is gaining popularity in the capital, but over the next 2-3 years it will bring enormous profits to those who begin to develop this business in Russian cities with a population of over a million.

4. Catering franchises

Today, this is the only segment in public catering that demonstrates stable growth against the backdrop of the anemic state of the domestic economy. When located in locations with a large concentration of potential customers, the return on business with a properly organized process can be only 3–4 months. In 2017, not only restaurants will benefit, but also casual coffee shops, cafes offering coffee to go, and, of course, sports bars. This is also due to the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Opening a catering outlet under a franchise will bring income to the owner even after the end of the World Cup. Fast foods remain the most profitable; they are always in trend, since such enterprises do not require large investments, their products are available to the average consumer, who is now focused on an average bill of 500 rubles. All this guarantees stable profits for the owners.

5. Self-service car washes

Self-service car washes are becoming popular among car owners. About three dozen such car washes have already been opened in Moscow. Since 2014, this service has been in increasing demand, and manufacturers of equipment for such points can make good money. For example, to open a contactless car wash, you need to invest 13–15 million rubles, while the investment will pay off on average in 1.5–2 years, and the profit will be more than 10 million per year. That is, the profitability of the business area is 70%, which is very good.

6. Hotel business and consumer services enterprises

On the eve of the 18 World Cup, in the regions where it is being held, 2-3 star economy class hotels, small motels and various personal services enterprises - dry cleaners, mini-ateliers, etc. will be in demand. Also, against the backdrop of sporting events, fitness clubs, children's sections and other initiatives to maintain athletic shape will be in demand there. The fastest and most convenient way to organize this business in 1.5 years is to open it as a franchise. There is now a demand for such facilities in every Russian region, without exception, including Moscow. Russia has set a course for the development of mass domestic tourism, so investments made in hotels and dry cleaners will pay off quickly.

Over the past two years, they have experienced explosive development in the Russian entertainment market. The idea itself came from Asia, but the Russians have already overtaken their founders and occupy leading positions in this area. Russian businessmen have been selling their quest franchises abroad for several years now, where they are incredibly popular. Now in Moscow alone there are about 170 quest industry companies offering approximately 500 scenarios. There are 60 companies and almost 200 outlets in St. Petersburg.

The turnover of Russian companies is estimated at 20 billion rubles. in year. Despite the apparent dominance of quests, this industry is very dynamic - in Moscow alone, dozens of new facilities are opened every month, designed for an average of 2000–3000 visits. Investments in opening one room, depending on the demands of the public, can reach 50 million rubles, but the average price is 10 million rubles (in Moscow) and 2–3 million in the regions. In the next two to three years, this business as a whole in Russia and the CIS will only gain momentum.

Many people constantly need a product that tends to run out. No, the buyers themselves, of course, dream of extending the life of their purchase as long as possible.

But a perpetual motion machine has not yet been created, so when you run out of medicine/shampoo/product, etc., you have to buy a new one. And a budding entrepreneur should take advantage of this. Therefore, let’s look at some of the best options that best meet the requirement mentioned above.

People in Russia, no matter how bitter the truth may sound, have been sick, are sick and will continue to be sick. There is no other pill for all ailments, which is why there is such a rich assortment on pharmacy shelves. You can’t build happiness on someone else’s grief, but a pharmacy is a very profitable business with investments, and such a business is worth taking a closer look at.

You just need to take into account the location and basic needs of the population in the area.

For example, the demand will be huge in those places where the nearest medicine store is several kilometers away. And we ourselves know that sometimes a tablet of the same painkiller is needed immediately.

Accordingly, if a given area is predominantly inhabited by families with children, the proposal should be consistent with their requests. This includes baby formula, various bottles, and pacifiers with diapers. Keep in mind that the activities of pharmacies are subject to licensing, and the license is issued for a specific premises. And this is a business that is not afraid of a crisis.

Pharmacies have a big advantage - scalability. Having opened 1 small one today, in the future it will not be difficult to open 1,2,3 more in your city or a couple in the neighboring one.

You can open a pharmacy either on your own or, with the second option, the income will be less, but its implementation is much simpler, since the franchisor gives everything you need and teaches you the intricacies and nuances of the business.

2. Medical center

In order not to stray too far from the topic of medications, the second option is to consider opening a medical center. Difficult? Yes, this is not the easiest business idea to implement.

But remember government institutions: most visitors equate them to one of the branches of hell. Why not show those in need of medical care a new format of service? There are no queues, all doctors are extremely correct and professional.

Naturally, the key to success will be choosing a suitable location. Third in a row on the same street honey. the center will clearly be superfluous. But it’s not worth opening it even on the outskirts of the city. You will have to think about a convenient place in advance.

In particular, attention should be paid to transport and walking distance.

3. Funeral services

Even the best medical center does not guarantee immortality. And in the near future, until scientists find the secret of eternal youth, ritual services will be in demand.

The niche is very well developed and filled, but high quality and low prices will set your small business project apart from competitors. This is a promising business, as there are more and more people, and accordingly more people die. Death is usually not expected by anyone, so the funeral process itself can hit the budget.

Offer your customers installment plans, discounts, and then the profit will become constant and stable.

4. Car service

Moving away from the sad topic, let's remember about car owners. Many of them simply dote on their vehicles, choosing the best for their four-wheeled friend. It’s worth taking advantage of this and opening a car service center. You should attract customers not only with reasonable prices, but also with good quality and speed of work. A simple business worth starting for a beginner. To start, you need to rent 2 boxes and hire 2 car mechanics.

Important point: It’s better to pay them a percentage of the revenue, usually it’s 50-50, but you can negotiate 60% for yourself, 40 for the master.

5. Car wash

This point could be attributed to the previous good business, which can be opened in both a small and a large city, but we will consider it separately. Not everyone who wants to fix a car wants to wash it. And vice versa. It is worth noting that a car wash requires much less investment.

Therefore, if your starting capital does not allow you to immediately create something large-scale, but you definitely want to work with cars, take a closer look at the option.

It's consistently profitable small business with minimal investment. You can start it with only 200,000 - 300,000 rubles ($4,000), provided you rent a garage or box for this business.

6. Clothing store

All stores have one purpose: to sell goods. But in our case, we will consider several points of sale of different directions. So, what clothes are popular these days? One that has good quality and low price. By the way, you can open a clothing store with minimal expenses.

For example, it could be a store, stall, pavilion with only men's underwear.

It is desirable that the assortment be presented in both small and large sizes. Also, do not forget about creating several departments at once: for women, men, children. This is a good own business, where the markup on the wholesale price is usually about 300%. Organizing this business is not difficult and no special knowledge is needed.

7. Cosmetics and perfumery store

Cosmetics and perfumes for the fair sex are always a “sweet spot”. To succeed, you should care not only about quality, but also about different price ranges.

8. Grocery store

Yes, yes, we are once again considering the store as a business option. And the grocery point most fully corresponds to what was said at the very beginning: disposable goods are becoming more and more popular.

Choose the good, a suitable location (this is important), open a store, fill the shelves with affordable and excellent quality goods and you can expect a quick payback.

9. Meat and fish store

As in the case of a car wash/car service, we open a meat and fish store separately from the grocery store. Why? Because this way we can offer our customers the richest choice. The entire retail space is dedicated specifically to our meat and fish products. This will allow us to attract buyers and keep quality at the proper level. This is one that can be opened from scratch.

10. Homemade Food Store (Natural Products)

About 5 years ago there was not one in my city. Now there are already 6 of them. I live in a small town with a population of only 18,000 people. And none of them closed. My friends opened 1 such store 3 years ago. They are doing well and have no plans to close. Products they sell include homemade sour cream, milk, meat, cottage cheese, dumplings, cheese, etc. There is no point in listing the entire assortment, but I will say that it is impressive and the prices are quite high. And even with this picture, there are always clients.

For example. Sour cream for half a kilo costs 250 rubles; regular sour cream in the store is 4 times cheaper. But people buy and are happy.

Another similar store has a large assortment of homemade baked goods: eclairs, various cakes, including Napoleon, a huge number of different dishes and salads, already prepared. There is a demand, people buy because many are too lazy to cook after work.

It is difficult to single out the most profitable business from the above. After all, a lot depends, including on the scale. For example, undoubtedly a meat and fish store of 30 square meters will generate more profit than a pharmacy kiosk of 8 square meters. m. But we’ll try anyway. Based on our experience, the most profitable business today among those listed is pharmacy, medical. center, grocery and clothing store.

The most important choose the right place, 90% of success for this type of business depends on it.

Before starting your business activity, be sure to draw up a detailed business plan in which you describe everything down to the smallest detail (consider all issues thoroughly). We hope we have answered the question - what kind of business is profitable to do. Good luck to you, dear reader and aspiring businessman!

In this material:

When it comes to starting a business in Russia, many people are scared. Excuses alluding to corruption, bureaucracy and excessive government influence over entrepreneurs are very much in vogue. Entrepreneurs who have created successful businesses, on the contrary, call Russia, Moscow, and St. Petersburg the best place to create a business. If many have managed to create a business in Russia, it means that doing their own business is justified and profitable!

What business areas are relevant in Russia today?

Let's consider business ideas that will help both experienced and novice entrepreneurs realize their potential.

Service business

Business in the service sector captivates with its simplicity.

In Moscow alone there are more than a thousand different businesses that provide services rather than sell goods.

  • Salon . This is not a new, standard business that does not require any special sophistication. People always need to get their hair cut. To open your own hairdresser you will need premises, several hired employees and inexpensive equipment. A hairdressing salon is a very profitable business, as it does not require the purchase of expensive equipment and high salaries for staff.
  • Beauty saloon . If a person, and especially a woman, came to you with the goal of preening herself, then it is stupid to let her go without offering additional services. And you can earn much more with additional services. A haircut is ordered once every couple of months, but nails, eyebrows, and eyelashes have to be done every week or at least twice a month. You must have noticed that Soviet-style hair salons are gradually disappearing, replaced by numerous beauty salons. This is a logical development of the service with an expansion of the range of services provided.
  • Smartphone repair. Smartphones regularly break down - they fall, glass breaks, and operating system firmware is required. A smartphone repair service will be in great demand, especially if it is located at a crossroads or in a shopping center. All you need is a point, a master and inexpensive equipment.
  • Software development. According to statistical studies, Russians believe that being a programmer is better than being an entrepreneur. What is the demand from a programmer? No tax audits, no bureaucracy, he sits at a computer, writes code and receives a salary of more than one hundred thousand rubles. Everything is true, but such high salaries are formed due to the fact that development customers pay tens of times more. A small software development company spends several million rubles on salaries and earns several tens of millions a month.

Home business

The dream of many is a profitable small business at home.

A few ideas:

  • Production of some products is being established at home. This could be “handmade” products, weaving furniture from wicker, making slippers from flax, or preparing homemade baked goods. The main thing is to find a sales market. It’s worth doing advertising yourself; social networks are perfect for this; another option is to enter into an agreement with the nearest store or outlet.
  • It is not necessary to produce a product, the alternative is to provide a service. Just a few decades ago, it was difficult to imagine how to earn some money while sitting at home. This was the lot of composers and writers. Many Russians are engaged in copywriting, video editing, making videos for YouTube channels, and earn much more than they could earn in “real” life.
  • You can convert your apartment into an office and provide makeup, massage, or stylist services. For example, to work as a massage therapist, you will need to purchase a massage table and inexpensive oil for five thousand rubles. A half-hour massage session in Moscow brings in more than a thousand rubles. This business is good because every modern resident needs a massage. Clients are found both on social networks and among neighbors, just place an ad at the entrance to the entrance.

Internet business

Such is the peculiarity of the Russian person that he is not very attracted to home business, which involves the production of goods. I want to work on the Internet - look at the monitor, press keys on the keyboard, move the mouse and earn income.

Well, that's possible too. A few ideas for a person who does not have any skills and cannot boast of a higher education in the IT field:

  • Vkontakte community- great business. All you have to do is choose a specific niche, such as the psychology of interpersonal relationships, and publish updates regularly. You can earn up to one hundred thousand rubles a month and more. Complete anonymity is allowed: no one will know who owns the group and who makes money from it. The situation is similar with other social networks, but Facebook is not so popular in our country.
  • YouTube channel. It would seem that what is so difficult about filming your life on a video camera or smartphone and regularly posting these videos on the Internet? There is nothing complicated at all, and the numbers that students and even schoolchildren earn are simply amazing. A YouTube channel is obviously a profitable business. It does not require any investment and attracts your audience for free. If you create a channel in a commercial niche, you can monetize your audience by selling training to your subscribers or advertising to them products from an affiliate network, for which you will receive royalties.
  • Online store. Be that as it may, the biggest money is made online through sales. Entrepreneurs make money from the banal resale of Chinese goods purchased from wholesalers. The purchasing platforms are most often Aliexpress or Alibaba. It's easy to find anything on these sites. The markup on trinkets can be hundreds of percent.

The most popular business in Russia

Creating another online store or opening a grocery store are good ideas, but you won’t surprise anyone. It is good to create a business focusing on demand, because compliance with this principle guarantees demand, and where there is demand, there is money.

Russia traditionally lacks quality service. For example, travel agencies are a dime a dozen. They race to offer cheap tours to exotic countries, but the VIP tourism market is practically empty. In order to relax in the Maldives, clients have to book charter flights and use the services of foreign travel companies.

The situation is similar with car service. Not everyone wants to save money when replacing summer tires with winter ones. Speed of service and quality are important to many.

The investment niche is practically empty. Russians don't know where to invest their money. While Americans are actively investing in the stock market, thereby supporting their economy, Russians are purchasing apartments, inflating the national residential real estate market.

The niche of investing in precious metals is practically empty. In India, China, Germany, the USA, South Africa and other rich and poor countries, people buy physical gold. In our country this is almost impossible to do. If there are still instruments for sale (Sberbank branches), then selling a metal bar or gold coin is almost impossible.

It is possible to fill this market, but, of course, active cooperation with government agencies will be required.

There are more than a thousand cities in our country. Most residents would like to move far away; the alternative is to look at their provincial status from a different perspective.

  • Farming can become a very profitable and profitable business, especially if you position yourself as a manufacturer of organic, harmless products. This trend is popular in Western countries and is becoming more and more established here every year, however, it is almost impossible to buy homemade eggs or farm dairy products. For many suburbanites who live in private homes and engage in farming, the supply is in great demand. They are even greeted from trains!
  • Pet breeding- a thoroughbred and highly profitable business that can be organized even in an ordinary city apartment. The offspring of some purebred dogs cost hundreds of thousands of rubles. Just imagine: the puppy has not yet been born, and you already have an order for its sale. There’s no need to even talk about profitability here, because the costs of organizing such a business are just animal feed.
  • Vending business. Have you noticed vending machines in retail chains where you can insert a bill into them and buy water, chips, a chocolate bar and other products? This is a vending machine. Such devices do not require expensive maintenance or security (as they are located inside protected facilities). There is also no need to spend money on advertising, because their very idea is to provide an additional service to those who have already come to a specific establishment with the goal of spending money.

Most cost effective

Before talking about profitability, it is necessary to understand the term. Profitability is usually understood as the efficiency of using resources or funds.

Options for profitable business in Russia:

  • Thrift store. Difficult economic conditions do not allow millions of Russians to throw away used household appliances or used items in the trash; they would not mind selling them. Social networks or message boards are used. But not everyone has the advertising skills to create an ad, and almost all message boards now require a fee for use. A consignment store is a great business that would connect sellers of used equipment and used items with buyers.
  • Selling healthy food to lovers of a healthy lifestyle. There is a trend in the world: more and more people are becoming vegetarians and vegans, and types of nutrition that no one had heard of a decade ago, for example, a raw food diet, are gaining momentum. You can open the production of yeast-free bread, buy from farmers or resell homemade dairy products, or organize a service for the delivery of drinking water. The demand for such services is still small, but businesses in this area are characterized by excessive customer attachment. If a buyer likes your flax seed bread, he will most likely become your regular customer, plus he will also bring friends.
  • Pharmacy . Statistics show that the number of sick people in our country is increasing every day. Pharmacy is not just a profitable, but also a highly profitable business. You can open your own outlet as a franchise and become a small unit of a large pharmaceutical family. A relevant business in times of depreciation of the national currency may be opening a pharmacy in a low price range.

Franchise business: pros and cons

Entrepreneurs, especially beginners, are often intimidated by a business plan and organizational issues. What can we say, the thought of the tax office makes you shiver! There is a way to avoid all these organizational issues - a franchise.

What is a franchise? Let's imagine you opened your own private kindergarten. You have an original program, the kids like it, the parents are delighted. Time to open the second one. No sooner said than done. Then the third, fourth, and then in other cities. And then the moment comes when you understand that money is made by sharing your successful experience.

For this purpose, a franchise is sold, that is, a ready-made business plan in which all operating costs are calculated, what kind of personnel is needed, what associated costs are, and so on.

Will such an offer be in demand if potential novice buyers are eager to create their own business, and a successful businessman appears before their eyes, not just selling another information product, but inviting them to become part of a large company?

The franchise is very popular in our country, but it has its pros and cons.

Franchise advantages:

  • Market research, sociological surveys, deciding whether a business idea will work is the concern of other people. Already thought up, painted and offered on a plate.
  • Lack of entrepreneurial experience is not a problem at all. If there is no official income, the bank will most likely refuse to provide a loan, but the franchisor (franchise seller) will come to the rescue and act as a guarantor.
  • You can immediately see what profits you can expect and what possible losses. Often when starting a business, although these values are written down in the business plan, they have nothing to do with the numbers that you see in your accounting statement.

Disadvantages of the franchise:

  • Entry threshold. A franchise is not a gift. Nobody will give you money to start. The first question a franchise seller will ask is whether you have start-up capital. No? Go, earn money, collect.
  • Part of the profit will have to be given away. An integral part of any franchise is royalty. This is fair, but if two or three years have passed and you are doing everything yourself, it may be tempting to stop regular contributions by business strategy developers. It won’t work: the contract obliges!
  • I have to work. Many novice entrepreneurs mistakenly believe that a franchise is an opportunity to successfully invest money in an existing business project. This is far from the truth and does not overlap with classic investments that are used to generate passive income. A franchise involves hard entrepreneurial work associated with risks, disadvantages and peculiarities.

Relevance, profitability, payback of a business are not the main characteristics that you should pay attention to when creating a business. The main thing is still your competence and how much you like and how excited you are by this or that idea.

In most developed countries of the world, small and medium-sized businesses form the basis of the economy. And it’s not surprising, because with minimal costs, a private entrepreneur can make significant profits. But, of course, success largely depends on the area in which you want (and can) work - services, manufacturing, transport, trade, etc.

So who earns the most? Forbes magazine tried to answer this question by compiling a list of the most profitable and promising small business segments. The rating is based on data on 300 thousand companies and individual entrepreneurs, each area was represented by at least 100 companies. The data was collected by a specialized consulting agency from 2003 to 2011.

As the authors of the rating note, most of the most profitable types of entrepreneurship require excellent professional training. At the same time, these specialties allow you to work for yourself, not have a staff, and sometimes not even use an office. But there is another side to the coin: clients of such specialists, as a rule, resort to the services of the same professional for many years, that is, it is very difficult for a beginner to quickly take a worthy position in the market.

So, who made it to the business top?

1. Private auditors. Net profit - 16.5%. Audit services are in demand at any time, so the financial crisis did not in any way affect the income of these specialists. In addition, clients tend to regularly work with the same auditor (or firm), so promotional costs are virtually unnecessary. And, of course, if you work for yourself, the need to rent an office and pay staff completely disappears.

2. Chiropractors, 15.3%. Official medicine does not always recognize the craft of these specialists, but this does not prevent them from receiving a decent income. And those who do not maintain their own office and work on-site at the client’s home, also have almost no costs.

3. Specialized clinics, 15%. The most popular are minor surgeries, cosmetic procedures and various examinations. Despite the high cost of maintaining such an establishment, the prices for services more than cover all costs.

4. Accounting services, 14.9%. Just like auditors, accountants are always needed by everyone. Any services of these specialists are quite expensive, however, competition in this area is consistently high.

5. Private dentists, 14.7%. These doctors almost never suffer from a lack of clients. Many patients become regulars and go to the same dentist for decades; plus, they recommend the specialist they like to friends, relatives, colleagues, and so on. Even without a single advertising line and having quite expensive equipment, a dental office is a profitable enterprise.

6. Tax calculations, 14.7%. Nobody likes filling out declarations and standing in line at the tax office. Private tax officials make money from human laziness.

7. Orthodontist, 14.4%. In Russia, these specialists usually do not work outside the walls of any clinics, but in America, a private orthodontist is a fairly common occurrence. And the services of such doctors are traditionally expensive: if a client wants a Hollywood smile, he must be willing to pay the appropriate price for it.

8. Law firms, 13.4%. The approximate income of all law firms and small businesses is at this same level.

9. Small lending, 13.3%. Companies that issue small loans secured by the company's products have become popular during the crisis. Large banks unanimously refused loans to entrepreneurs and demanded that previously issued loans be repaid ahead of schedule, and these firms were ready to issue funds without special requirements and for the required period. For small businesses, this became a real lifesaver, as profits in production and trade also began to fall rapidly.

The most profitable types of small businesses in Russia are of interest to many aspiring entrepreneurs. This is a pressing question for those who have not yet decided in which niche to open their own business. And in order for a business to have a better chance of survival, it is necessary to focus on those industries that have the potential to bring truly tangible profits.

The market situation in Russia today is not as good as we would like. Many problems are explained by the protracted crisis. In the current conditions, even large industrial enterprises often fail to survive. Many of them change their focus and begin to explore new industries.

But there are also some positive aspects. For example, due to mutual sanctions between Russia and European countries, the import of many consumer goods has become impossible or unprofitable. Imported products often increase their cost due to duties by 1.5 - 2 times. This allowed Russian entrepreneurs to become more competitive.

When choosing a direction of work, entrepreneurs must focus on the desires and capabilities of consumers. Thus, in times of crisis, an ordinary citizen prefers to buy cheap products. Most people refuse expensive purchases. Their consumption is shifting towards food, essentials, and other goods and services.

At the moment, the following industries are among the most promising areas in Russia:

  1. production;
  2. sale of essential goods;
  3. farming and other forms of agriculture;
  4. real estate sector (rental, hotel business);
  5. public catering;
  6. various services to ordinary citizens and organizations.

The manufacturing sector is, in principle, considered one of the most promising industries. It allows you to increase the number of finished products. It is not for nothing that most enterprises today belong to this sector of the economy. Moreover, these are not only representatives of large and medium-sized businesses, but also small businesses.

According to marketers, the share of the manufacturing sector will grow rapidly in the next 5 years. As a result, the industry will acquire new entrepreneurs. There are also a number of difficulties here. The main obstacle is the need to raise capital. Starting your own manufacturing business requires a lot of money, and attracting investors is not always possible. Therefore, without a clear strategy and business plan, there is nothing to do in this area. Moreover, they will help to attract money in one of the following ways:

  • governmental support;
  • investors;
  • partners;
  • loans.

But the last option is the least attractive, since Russian banks offer citizens loans at high interest rates. Ultimately, the amount of overpayment on loans significantly reduces the profit of the enterprise and the profitability of production as a whole.

During a crisis, people quickly change their behavior patterns. The purchasing power of money falls, wages remain unchanged, and prices rise. It is quite logical that a person refuses more expensive goods in favor of publicly available products.

Premium segment products themselves have little demand, but during a crisis it becomes even lower. People simply refuse to buy cars, electronics, and household appliances. Therefore, opening a store in this area is not advisable now.

The situation is completely different with essential goods. People are starting to buy them more actively. Popular products at such times include the following:

  • inexpensive food;
  • hygiene products;
  • cloth;
  • stationery;
  • sports equipment and clothing;
  • toys.

Moreover, these should be inexpensive goods. A novice entrepreneur can open a specialized point in one of the areas. It is not advisable to spread across all areas at once. On the contrary, it is better to open a small point in a residential area. In this case, you can save money on rent and quickly find your regular customers by offering them quality products at reasonable prices. It is precisely such shops that become very competitive during periods of crisis.

Agriculture in Russia itself has enormous potential. Natural open spaces, fertile lands - all this contributes to the successful cultivation of animals and food. In addition, this area creates a raw material base for many manufacturing enterprises.

If just a few years ago it was very difficult to open your own business and stay afloat in the agricultural sector, now the situation has changed somewhat. This is largely due to the ban on the import of most foreign products. Due to customs duties, many goods become more expensive after crossing the border. This helps strengthen Russian agriculture. The following industries are most in demand in this area:

  • livestock farming;
  • crop production

Today, many Russian entrepreneurs decide to open their own farm. A businessman must choose the direction himself, assessing the following factors:

  1. demand for products;
  2. the presence of competitors and market saturation as a whole;
  3. remoteness from raw material bases;
  4. availability of support from the district administration;
  5. product yield or fertility of individuals in a particular region.

And even though you won’t be able to get your money back in a month, after the first harvest you will be able to recoup your investment and develop further. Those who have their own summer cottage should take a closer look at the idea of opening their own farm. In this case, you won’t even have to rent land. And it’s not necessary to register at first. It is enough to operate as a private subsidiary. And in the future, in case of successful development, it will be possible to become an individual entrepreneur or LLC and increase the scale of production.

A small farm will also be competitive because it will not require major investments to operate. The entrepreneur will be able to do all the work on his own, and it will be possible to completely abandon expensive equipment for several seasons.

The real estate market has always been of interest to entrepreneurs. Now many people cannot afford to buy an apartment, so they have to rent housing. In general, the following types of real estate are available for rent:

  • housing;
  • industrial premises;
  • land;
  • garages.

Profitability in these areas can reach 50 - 100% in just a few months.

There is another profitable direction - organizing a hotel business. Moreover, now it is not expensive hotels that are very popular, but small hostels and dormitories. They attract customers with the presence of minimal amenities and affordable prices. In addition, few can afford to rent an expensive room in a luxury hotel. Opening a hostel or dormitory near a train station or in the city center can certainly bring income to its owner. They can accommodate not only tourists, but also business travelers, students, and workers.

The catering industry has always been one of the most promising business formats. But here the vector of development has changed from expensive restaurants and cafes to outlets with affordable prices, pleasant interiors, and fast service. It makes sense for a novice entrepreneur to consider opening one of the following establishments:

  • snack bar;
  • kebab shop;
  • coffee house;
  • pie

Oddly enough, the fast food sector is also in high demand. Many outlets offer breakfasts and business lunches at really inexpensive prices. Working in this area, you can achieve profitability of 30 - 40%.

One of the most interesting and profitable ideas is to organize a point selling coffee to go. Additionally, you can equip a small room for visitors who prefer to cheer up with a cup of coffee and a croissant in a relaxed atmosphere. The payback period for introducing this seemingly insignificant option in the form of “coffee to go” is reduced by 1.5 - 2 times.

Services sector

The service sector in any developed society covers a larger part of the market than, for example, manufacturing. It is gaining increasing influence in Russia as well. Thus, according to the results of 2015 - 2016, the highest profitability was recorded in the service sector. This is not surprising, because opening a business does not require large financial investments. At the same time, you can make a profit from the very start.

The essence of work in this area is to provide services. The cost and profit level will be influenced by the following factors:

  • workload;
  • complexity of the work;
  • level of skill (quality);
  • availability of guarantees;
  • results.

For example, the consulting field is now very popular among entrepreneurs. Organizations prefer not to spend money on employing accountants and lawyers. They turn to special companies as needed. Cleaning organizations are also in demand in the B2B segment.

The following types of services are especially popular among the general population:

  • renovation and decoration of apartments;
  • installation of windows and doors;
  • tutoring;
  • car repair;
  • nannies and cleaners.

Opening a private dentistry is a very interesting idea that can bring significant profit to its owner. But this cannot be done without serious financial investments in the purchase of specialized equipment.
